  • Global Gun Control Advocates to Meet in NYC to Set UN Disarmament Agenda

    06/08/2016 1:28:39 PM PDT · by Whenifhow · 24 replies
    New American ^ | June 5 2016 | Joe Wolverton, II, J.D.
Anti-gun globalists will meet in New York City this week discuss ways to confiscate small arms and ammunition from civilians and to consolidate monopoly control over those weapons in the hands of the governments of United Nations (UN) member states. The convention is part of a UN-controlled process of disarmament called the Programme of Action (PoA). From June 6-10 delegates from around the world will attend the Sixth Biennial Meeting of States (BMS6) of the PoA. This latest planning meeting will give delegates an opportunity to move the ball closer to the goal of ridding the world's civilian population of...

Picture from click2houston.com In the video, you see the armed suspect bring the pistol very close to the victim.  It is just the opportunity for the victim to successfully attempt a disarm.  The victim uses both hands to grab the pistol to lever it away from the suspect.  Eventually, the suspect flees the scene, chased by the now armed victim. From click2houston.com: The man then pulled out a gun and demanded money. The owner, who asked to be called Enrique, and the man began to struggle, and the man punched Enrique multiple times in the face. The two men...

Niccolo Machiavelli is what some have called the first modern analyst of political power.  Some have called him the founder of modern political science.  Others have compared him to the Devil, as he showed the moral underbelly of political power.  He is widely honored on the left as showing how to use power to stay in power.  Most of the people who know of Machiavelli know him from his most famous work "The Prince".  "The Prince" is essentially a short course on how to get and keep political power.  At the time it was written, it was a rather...
  • Disarm: Defender Shot with High Point Carbine

This High Point Carbine was taken from a home defender in Arizona. Long guns offer a lot of advantages as defensive arms.  They are easier to hit with, offer increased practical ranges, and can have more power and deterrent value.  They have disadvantages;  it is easier to take a long gun from a person than it is to take a handgun.  Disarms of armed defenders are rare.  Cases where the disarmed defender is shot with their own gun, much rarer.  It happened in Arizona a week ago.  From trivalleycentral.com: APACHE JUNCTION — Pinal County authorities say an Apache Junction-area...

A liquor store clerk was attacked by a robbery suspect with a gun.  The victim fought back.  The fight ended up outside the store, where the clerk was able to get control of the gun and shoot the robber.  The suspect later died. This is the third robber who was shot and killed in Houston in the past few days.  Two others were shot and killed at a Super K by Diem Tu, as they pistol whipped his brother in law, Brian. In Lexington, Kentucky, the police department has given an award to Zara Adil, a young woman who disarmed one of two armed robbers, shot him, sent the other robber fleeing, and then fought the wounded robber for the cash register.   It was all recorded on video.   The police caught the suspects, and believe that they were responsible for more than a dozen robberies.  It doesn't take many violent criminals to create a lot of crime.  Armed citizens are often the ones who stop these crime sprees.    From lex18.com: "Getting an award for bravery... I wasn't expecting...

Filmmaker Michael Moore on Thursday called for the release of all blacks jailed on drug sentences to be released, and for the police to be disarmed. “Here’s my demand: I want every African-American currently incarcerated for drug ‘crimes’ or non-violent offenses released from prison today,” Moore tweeted. “Next demand: Disarm the police,” he continued. Moore’s tweets were in response to the rioting in Baltimore earlier this week, which was triggered by the death in police custody of a 25-year-old black man. “We have ¼ billion 2nd Amendment guns in our homes 4 protection,” Moore wrote. “We’ll survive til the right...

This video shows a brave young clerk fighting off two robbers that are masked when they enter the store.  It happened on Friday, 27 February, 2015,  in a tobacco store in Lexington, Kentucky.   As one robber is trying to grab cash from the register, he puts down a small handgun.  While I can not clearly identify it, it looks similar to a RG-14.   The clerk, 21-year-old Ara Adil, grabs the pistol, and one robber runs off.  Then the remaining suspect attacks the clerk.  As they wrestle, she shoots him in the shoulder. Link to the video: The robber...

Matthew Haight survived an encounter with a burglar, but not by much.  He acknowledges that he made mistakes, and they cost him a great deal. Link to video at kirotv.com: Haight come home from watching the Superbowl on Sunday night, the 1st of February, 2015 in Snohomish County, Washington State.   When he walked up the stairs to his apartment, he discovered that something was not right.  The door was unlocked.  That is when he made a mistake.  He went inside to investigate.  This is an easy mistake to make.  Sometimes people forget to lock doors.  Sometimes they give keys...

In a small percentage of cases, a victim disarms an attacker.  The attacker usually runs off.  In one case, they even asked for the gun back!   My experience is that disarms by victims are considerably more common than disarms by attackers.   It is not hard to understand why.  The victim has a lot more to gain from a disarm; the attacker a lot more to lose if he continues the fight.   Sometimes the victim turns the gun on the attacker, as happen in this case in Chicago.   It happened in the 6600 block of South State Street, one of...

Jabari Sadler demonstrates the disarm.  You can see the bullet hole in the door. In a home invasion in Atlanta, a father protected his wife and children with a successful disarm of one of the invaders. Multiple people were on separate floors of the three level home when the four invaders broke the door down.  It appears that only one home invader had a gun.  He was left guarding the family on a lower floor while the three other invaders rushed upstairs and gathered TVs, phones, and other valuables. The grandmother was hiding under a bed on the third...

Suspected Attacker  Sometimes a victim manages to take a gun from an attacker.   Less often, an attacker takes a gun from the victim.   In this case, the attacker took the gun, tried to shoot the victim, but missed.  It started when the aggressor attacked a neighbor.   From thenewsstar.com: According to the police report, Smith began banging the victim’s head on the concrete saying repeatedly, “I’m going to kill you.” The victim reported losing consciousness as Smith gained his keys. The second victim grabbed his pistol, and drove across the street to aid his neighbor.  The area is fairly rural,...

I have read thousands of stories of citizens fighting criminals, and usually winning, especially if they are armed.   In very rare cases, the criminal takes a weapon from an armed citizen.   It seems to be a bit more common for a citizen to take a weapon from the criminal.   It makes sense when you consider that the citizen has a lot more to lose than the criminal.  Criminals, by their actions, have shown that they have no concern for the rights of others, so a victim has reason to fear for their life.   Most citizens...

While it appears that victims are generally better at disarming criminals, than criminals are at disarming victims, it is a very dangerous business that should not be attempted lightly.  From Houston, 14news.com: Henderson Police say the suspect tried to rob the victim at gunpoint, but the victim fought back and tried to get the gun. Police say the gun went off during the struggle and the victim was shot in the foot. It is possible that being shot in the foot was an acceptable trade-off.  There is not enough in the story to determine if that were so, and it is a subjective judgment....

More details emerge about the case in Arizona where deputies refused to ID themselves and demanded that a citizen disarm. Several questions were brought up on Gun Watch that seemed deliberately ignored in the original stories.  Now we have some of the answers. First question, was the vehicle a marked sheriff department vehicle or was it unmarked? From an AP story on Yahoo: According to court records, the deputy and his partner stopped their vehicle, then flashed their headlights and honked their horn, a common practice used by law enforcement to trick drug smugglers into thinking the car is...

A rare event, but it does happen.  It seems more common for a citizen to disarm an attacker, and to use their firearm against them.  Criminals face legal sanctions, while the law protects homeowners defending themselves.  From deseretnews.com: KEARNS — A homeowner confronted a burglar Tuesday and fired a shot at him, but the burglar took away his weapon and ran off, police say. (snip) "The suspect tries to get up and leave, the homeowner tells him, 'No.' They get into an altercation," Richardson said. A fight ensued with the homeowner ending up on his back and the alleged...
