VIDEO: Barack Obama tells David Letterman he doesn't remember how much the national debt is (either he's lying or he doesn't want to remind everyone how gargantuan it is), blames Bush, and plays the class warfare card.

Barack Obama will be visiting one of his biggest fans soon - late night talker David Letterman. The president will chat with the "Late Show" host during a trip to New York City next week, according to the National Journal. Letterman's nightly monologues mostly spare the president from satirical ribbing, saving his most cutting remarks for the Romneys ... or even former President George W. Bush. The news comes on the same day Obama told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he couldn't meet with him due to a scheduling conflict.

NBC News anchor Brian Williams appeared on CBS’ The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday night. Letterman discussed Williams’s special on Rock Center about the killing of Osama bin Laden and became agitated when describing President Barack Obama’s successes as compared to what he sees as President George W. Bush’s failures in the War on Terror. “What more do we want this man to do for us, honest to god,” asked Letterman. He was first asked about CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, who Williams described as being suspiciously “sunny” in his disposition. “Life’s too short, if you feel...

On the heels of Countdown host Keith Olbermann‘s firing from Current TV, the network and sources close to it have been quick to buttress their case for the dismissal with details of the temperamental star’s antics. One such source tells Mediaite, among other things, that Olbermann went through 8 different car services (he doesn’t drive), and complained to the network that some of the drivers “smelled,” and “talked to him,” -snip- Olbermann plans to counter Current’s PR offensive with an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday

Plouffe on the Rev. Wright controversy: "We failed as a campaign to do the proper research there. … We hadn't looked through every page of every sermon. … The ferocity of it took us by surprise, and I think the press could see we were taken by surprise." The initial round of videotape of Wright, he added was as bad as when Wright "went on his little media tour" thereafter. By the general election, however, "the public had digested Rev. Wright. I don't want to minimize it; it gave them some indigestion, but they'd digested it." Axelrod, after receiving a...

The decline of television’s two big late-night stars was more noticeable than ever during television’s premiere week, as “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and the “Late Show With David Letterman” were both beaten by ABC’s “Nightline” — a first during that week. “Nightline” was up slightly from last year, increasing its viewership by 7 percent, but the story was in the falloff for both Mr. Leno on NBC and Mr. Letterman on CBS. The two late-night lions saw their audience, especially the younger segments of viewers, drop sharply. Mr. Letterman lost a total 560,000 viewers from last year, a...

"One of the best things about Americans is that we don't really resent other people's success," said Clinton. [snip] The two also discussed serious issues such as the economy and trade relations with China, as well as the protestors on Wall Street. "They're going to have to transfer energy to making specific suggestions," advised Clinton

http://internet-haganah.com/harchives/007413.html "Whither the jihadi forums?" SNIPPET: "There are currently only three jihadi forums that are sufficiently active and well-connected to be of any interest whatsoever. Why we claim to be on the verge of defeating al-Qaida while simultaneously watching passively as they use these forums to regroup and regenerate is beyond me. These are the forums three: • al-Fidaa, a forum created by al-Qaida core. That it is directly linked to al-Qaida by definition moves it to the top of the list. Current membership: 2,462, all of whom can be considered "active" if only because they just joined the forum....

SNIPPET: "Al Qaeda commander continues to pose a threat to U.S. and South Asian security as Pakistan’s military and intelligence services look the other way” IPT News June 22, 2010 SNIPPET: “Top Al Qaeda commander Ilyas Kashmiri poses a major threat to U.S. interests both at home and abroad. Described by intelligence agencies “as the most effective, dangerous and successful guerrilla leader in the world,” Kashmiri heads Al Qaeda’s military operations wing. He figures prominently in two recent high-profile terrorism indictments issued in Chicago. But Kashmiri remains free in South Asia and in control of a renowned Al Qaeda terror...

David Letterman, speaking to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on his show, asked about the Shirley Sherrod incident and took it upon himself to slam Andrew Breitbart. At one point during the interview he asked her “how much time, energy was wasted on this a*shole ****ing around?” Maddow described Breitbart as a “spinoff from Matt Drudge, from the Drudge Report.” Breitbart, indeed, used to serve as an editor of the Drudge Report, but her intentions in mentioning the Drudge Report probably amount to the effectiveness of the site to sway public debate– not to mention millions of viewers visiting per day....

Hat tip to Big Hollywood Oh how the mighty have fallen. Chris Rock used to be such an inventive comedian with bits that straddled the fence politically. His first two major comedy specials — Bring the Pain and Bigger and Blacker — were from the Clinton era and are classics of ’90s comedy. Yet his two efforts from the last ten years — Never Scared and Kill the Messenger — both mostly abandoned his political heterodoxy in exchange for unoriginal Bush-bashing and wild-eyed Obama sycophancy. Apart from the politics neither were as funny as his first two efforts. Perhaps because...

SNIP “Now what about that Sarah Palin," says Letterman, who had to apologize for an off-color joke about the former Alaskan governor's daughter last year. "She’s not ready to be president, is she?” “She’s terrific,” Romney rapidly replies to derisive audience laughter. “She really is! She’s terrific. She’s got energy, passion – by the way, you know, be careful what you say about her.” Letterman says he knows. Romney adds with a smile, “She has a rifle, you know.”

The entire writing staff of the David Letterman show has quit over a Top Ten list that Letterman has written himself and plans to read on his CBS-TV show tomorrow night. "Forget about the fact that he's micromanaging the show and trying to do our job. It's his prerogative to oversee the operation," said an unnamed writer. "But the list just isn't funny."

ST. LOUIS -- Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh today was booted from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams because fabricated Wikiquotes now constitute rock solid evidence on which the MSM can base race card smear campaigns. Limbaugh, meanwhile, said on his radio show that he'll take his $450 billion personal war chest -- earned exclusively by the increasingly anachronistic expression "sweat of his own brow" -- and launch a bid for the Republican presidential nomination against Democrat pResident Barack Obama in 2012. "Folks, I don't even know if he plans to run for a second...

This ought to get the folks at the left-wing noise machine all wound up. Fox News host Glenn Beck on his Oct. 14 show, after being a regular recipient of MSNBC host Keith Olbermann's "Worst Persons in the World" on his "Countdown" program, decided to have a little fun by mocking Olbermann and his MSNBC colleague Chris Matthews. Beck mocked Olbermann's "Shakespearean" performance he puts on nightly on his "Countdown" program and also mocked Chris Matthews for his February 2008 "Obama gave me a thrill up my leg" comments. ...more (w/video)...

Rallying to the defence of director Roman Polanski after his arrest in Switzerland, French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand declared the situation "horrifying," and suggested that if the cultural world didn't come to the rapist's defence, "it would mean there is no culture in our country." He may have a case -- if you consider drugging and sodomizing a 13-year-old a manifestation of advanced "culture." Sadly, however, Mr. Mitterrand is hardly the only public figure willing to shrug off sexual crimes and indiscretions. Mr. Mitterrand's own background is illustrative. In a 2005 book he described as "half real and half dream,"...

In light of the recent and base actions of David Letterman – which few are condemning in the liberal media – Mr. Letterman once again mocked Sarah Palin and made her the butt of his humor and sarcasm. I think it’s “funny” that Letterman has shown absolutely no remorse nor a hint of shame in the recent exposure of his adulterous scandal. The only remorse from Letterman has been that he was exposed and caught as an adulterer. It is just regarded as a joke and something to laugh at. In the godless, delusional Bizarro world of reprobate Hollywood, he...

HOW much have opinions on Madison Avenue changed about “Late Show With David Letterman” since Mr. Letterman’s startling disclosures about his personal life? Well, one of the commercials that ran during the show on Tuesday night was from the Disney parks and resorts division of the Walt Disney Company. If so squeaky clean a marketer seemingly has no qualms about wishing upon a star like Mr. Letterman after last week’s events, it is unlikely other advertisers would — barring, agency executives and media experts say, any disturbing or scandalous additional disclosures. So long as viewers stick with Mr. Letterman, they...

Long before Stephanie Birkitt was revealed as David Letterman's squeeze, the funnyman was known to surround himself with beautiful young staffers who ministered to his daily needs -- and favored women when it came to promotions. Holly Hester, who interned for Letterman in the early '90s while she was a student at NYU, said yesterday the two had a steamy, secret affair for a year. She said Letterman called her one day and asked her to the movies, and they soon began seeing each other on the sly. "I was madly in love with him at the time," Hester told...
