An Onondaga County judge Thursday said he had no choice but to release a LaFayette man with mental issues who has been linked to at least 16 separate theft investigations. That’s because Christopher Brown, 20, hasn’t been charged with a crime eligible for bail under the state’s recent reform law. His worst charge? Stealing a Mercedes Benz last July from a James Street apartment garage, according to the indictment. A California man faces four years in prison for attacking a bar patron who was wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat in a restroom last year, officials said Wednesday. Former Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Charles Edwards and his former aide Murali Yamazula Venkata were indicted Friday on charges of stealing government property to defraud the U.S. government. Yamazula was also charged with destroying records. The indictments handed down by the Justice Department allege that Edwards and Venkata were working with others within the inspector general’s office to orchestrate a scheme to steal confidential and proprietary software that includes sensitive information on government employees. An illegal alien has been charged with allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Caldwell, Idaho, after providing her with alcohol, according to law enforcement officials. A 15-year-old girl was brutally beaten and robbed by a group of almost 20 teenagers after they chased her around Brooklyn, New York. The NYPD released footage of the horrific attack which was captured by security cameras. Authorities said the incident began around 4.10pm Thursday when the victim was approached by a group of unidentified individuals in front of 216 Utica Avenue. A woman in St. Louis has a frightening tale to tell after she was attacked and the suspect was apparently allowed to walk free. Her name is Alicia Clarke and she was attacked by her neighbor who tackled her, pulled her hair, broke her nose, and stabbed her with a metal rod. This was all over an incident where she lost her phone, used the 'Find My Iphone' to locate it, and confronted the teenage neighbor who responded by attacking her and leaving her a mess.
