A California man faces four years in prison for attacking a bar patron who was wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat in a restroom last year, officials said Wednesday.
David Delgado, 32, pleaded no contest to one count of felony assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
The attack happened on Sept. 2, 2019, at a restaurant in downtown Hermosa Beach.
The victim was wearing a red hat with white lettering written in Russian that translated to “Make America Great Again,” a prosecutor said.
Delgado approached the man and asked him what was written on the hat, police said. After the victim responded, police said the suspect repeatedly punched him in the face.

I wouldn’t be so sure until we see he doesn’t get probation or such.
He needs to work for his lunch money. Maybe Nancy or Dianne or Barbara could fund the medical and time lost expenses.
I wouldn’t say that until I saw how the sentencing went.
4 years is potential in terms of his sentence. And his served time will be considerably less than whatever his final sentence is. Don’t be so quick to assume that Justice is being done here, wait and see.
I really hope that after his sentencing hearing, someone finds the write up on it and posts it here.

He should get an extra year for that. Triggered by a hat he couldn’t even read.
I'd guess he'll get a suspended sentence or a very minimal sentence, say 3 months.
They were ALL weird.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Maybe Gruesome Newsom will give him a pardon.
