Contractors curious about an extension cord on the roof of a Michigan grocery store made a startling discovery: A 34-year-old woman was living inside the business sign, with enough space for a computer, printer and coffee maker, police said. “She was homeless,” Officer Brennon Warren of the Midland Police Department said Thursday. “It’s a story that makes you scratch your head, just somebody living up in a sign.” The woman, whose name was not released, told police she had a job elsewhere but had been living inside the Family Fare sign for roughly a year, Warren said. She was...

I am sitting in a shopping mall in Iraq, face-to-face with one of Europe’s most notorious people-smugglers. His name is Barzan Majeed, and he is wanted by police forces in several countries, including the UK. Over the course of our conversation - both here and the next day at his office - he says he does not know how many migrants he has transported across the English Channel. “Maybe a thousand, maybe 10,000. I don’t know, I didn’t count.” The meeting is the culmination of what had seemed like an impossible task a few months earlier. Together with Rob Lawrie,...

Biden’s top advisers are all too aware the ghosts of 1968 may haunt their convention here, but they’re grappling with a pair of more urgent and thoroughly modern-day challenges as summer nears: How far can they go in reprising their virtual 2020 convention to mitigate the threat of disruption inside the arena, and how will they navigate a rookie mayor who unabashedly sympathizes with protesters?

Matt McMullen talks about his company Realbotix. Founded in 2014, the company has been hammering away at the concept of intelligent, interactive robots long before today’s growing popularity of the idea. And they’re riding that wave as the technology continues to grow. See video here.

#1 Kevin McCarthy versus Matt GaetzFormer Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) made history on several fronts in the 118th Congress, none of them reason to crow. It took him 15 rounds of voting to overcome conservative resistance and win the gavel in January of 2023 — the longest Speaker’s vote since the Civil War. Nine months later he would be booted from power by eight of those same hard-liners, marking the first time since the nation’s founding that a Speaker was ejected. And standing at the center of both ordeals was Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida bomb-thrower who thrives on conflict...

In a study by the Institute for Counter-Terrorism Policy at Reichman University, it has been revealed that extreme right-wing antisemitic groups in the USA are aggressively promoting their ideology within the anti-Israel campaign of the American liberal left. These efforts, conducted through clandestine right-wing networks, are believed to be fueling the surge in violence on campuses and city streets as well as the burgeoning wave of online antisemitic rhetoric.

@TrumpDailyPosts THE NEW FBI BUILDING SHOULD BE BUILT IN WASHINGTON, D.C., NOT MARYLAND, AND BE THE CENTERPIECE OF MY PLAN TO TOTALLY RENOVATE AND REBUILD OUR CAPITAL CITY INTO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND SAFEST ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. THE FBI MUST BE IN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE DOJ BUILDING IN THAT THE DOJ & FBI HAVE TO WORK CLOSELY TOGETHER. A TWO MINUTE WALK TO A MEETING IS FAR BETTER THAN A TRAFFIC LADEN TWO HOUR DRIVE TO GREENBELT, MARYLAND. LIKEWISE, HAVING THE FBI IN D.C. IS IMPORTANT FOR ENDING VIOLENT CRIME, WHICH I WILL DO, QUICKLY!!!

Was perusing the TV shows and came across Rifleman episodes. I'm just amazed on how far this country has fallen. Back in the Rifleman era, there was law and order, no DEI, no LBGTQQAD (whatever the hell it is), men were men...women were woman, no AOC's, no Antifa, no this, no that....just a great era to be part of. I pray for this country and the men and women who fought for it.

You might understand the shock that Hertz customer Joshua Lee felt when he saw the receipt for his rented Tesla Model 3. After returning the vehicle back to Hertz following a weekend vacation in Los Angeles, Lee noticed he was hit with additional charge of $277.39 on top of his initial reservation price. Why was he charged so much additional money? According to Hertz, that was the cost of refueling the electric Model 3. Unfortunately for Lee, the further he pried the company for information, the more Hertz doubled down, and the more confused he became.

A North Carolina cafe customer is out $2,000 as her go-to diner posted her entire credit card information online for the world to see. Rhonda Deaver paid her weekly visit to Smith’s Cafe in Kinston following her doctor’s appointment on April 30 and dined at the restaurant, approximately 80 miles southeast of Raleigh. During her drive home, Deaver received a call from her bank telling her she left her credit card at the cafe. When she returned to the diner, cafe staff told Deaver they had taken a picture of the front and back of the card and posted it...

A solitary, symbolic tank has featured in Russia’s annual 9 May military parade for the second year in a row as the country was forced to pare down its normal display of military might during a full-scale war in which it has suffered unprecedented losses over the last two years. The single tank to roll across Red Square as Vladimir Putin reviewed about 9,000 troops was a second world war-era T-34 carrying the banner that the Soviet Union used when it defeated Nazi Germany alongside other allies. The tank has gained iconic status, but is not in combat use and...

Three Marines who graduated boot camp in April were looking forward to representing their recent accomplishment at their Colorado high school graduation later this month. That was until they were told by school officials that they would not be allowed to wear their dress blues unless it was covered by a cap and gown. Thomas Pencis, Jacob Dalton, and Christopher Ferguson went to summer school in order to finish their credits early and attend Marine Corps boot camp before graduating from Centennial High School. Their school is in Pueblo, Colorado also known as the “Home of Heroes” because it was...

@RepThomasMassie The day after I vote against @SpeakerJohnson, AIPAC announces a $300,000 ad buy against me. I hope Americans see what’s happening here.

@NickJFuentes 7 years ago, I was cancelled by @benshapiro at age 18 because I said he puts Israel first instead of America. 5 years ago, I was cancelled by @charliekirk11 because I questioned his support for mass migration, gay pride, and the Israel Lobby. Now everyone sees that I was right.

(CNN) Rupert Murdoch might not be flexing for the cameras, but he did just quietly demonstrate the power he still wields inside the Republican Party. The right-wing media mogul’s empire — which includes Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post — not-so-subtly backed Mike Johnson as Marjorie Taylor Greene waged an all-out assault against the House Speaker over his decision to pass an aid package for Ukraine. Murdoch’s powerful collection of outlets not only voiced support for Johnson, but leveled scathing attacks on Greene, with the Post even going as far as to blast her as...

MIKE DON’T KNOW ABOUT JACK — We’d also like to highlight a couple of other newsy tidbits from Johnson, who spoke to us just a few hours after easily surviving the MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE-led attempt to remove him as speaker. He described how he “didn’t think they would go through with it” after talking with the Georgia Republican and her allies. He talked about how he approached Greene, Rep. THOMAS MASSIE (R-Ky.) and Rep. PAUL GOSAR (R-Ariz.) on the floor afterward to make peace. “I said … ‘I don’t carry grudges, and I’m not angry about this,” he said. “We...

Kroger and Walt Disney are reportedly exploring joining forces in a retail streaming deal that would involve bringing Disney+ to the food retailer’s grocery delivery program. The two companies are discussing offering the streaming service, called Kroger Boost, as a free perk, people familiar with the situation said, according to a report by Bloomberg News. If talks come to fruition, Kroger Boost members could reportedly have access to the streaming service as early as this year.
