As investigators probe the death of a 2-year-old girl whose father led Louisiana State Police troopers on a 7-mile chase through New Orleans that ended in a fatal crash and suicide, the girl's relatives are questioning whether the deadly pursuit was necessary at all. "It was a license plate, and now our baby is dead because they pursued this guy," Alice Joseph, the deceased toddler's great grandmother told WVUE-Fox 8. Troopers initiated the chase because the car was affixed with a stolen license plate, agency spokeswoman Trooper First Class Melissa Matey said Wednesday. She said the car had tinted windows,...

Vladimir Sanchez spent more than four years in prison for a slew of insurance-fraud charges. He was released on Thursday, but his freedom was short-lived. Sanchez, 45, is back behind bars after his ride home ended with a police chase, a shooting and a school lockdown at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Little Havana. Miami police said it all started on Thursday when Sanchez’s 16-year-old son, Alexander, stole his mother’s 2013 Nissan Altima to pick his father up from jail. A document provided to Breitbart News shows the investment banking behemoth JP Morgan Chase has joined a long line of major corporations in putting pressure on employees to sign up for the cause of gay rights. And they have not-so-subtly let each employee know not signing up will be noted. Employees are being told “to help create an environment for open and honest dialogue.” The document notes descriptors such as “wife” and “boyfriend” are frowned upon, and “partner” is preferred. Not referring to your wife as your wife “offers up the opportunity for more inclusive conversations.” JP Morgan urges employees...

I received a letter this past week from Chase because I was a safe-deposit-box customer. It was heavy handed and startling. Some of the terms included that lessee agrees not to have more than $25K worth in there (what's that? half of a good diamond?), that you can't have cash or coins in there (right away I thought Krugerrands, etc), and that the bank can restrict access to the box for any reason, or for no reason (unexpected circumstances, natural or manmade -- the sky is the limit). The contents are not protected against loss or damage. Oh, and they...

I'm not one for boycotts, but I am one for data. And I like this kind of data. It's just good to have data when spending money. That's all. I mean, if I have no choice in keeping a SIGNIFICANTLY large portion of my money from being squandered by the folks that I've freaking employed up on the Hill (like drunk girls on Spring break with their Daddy's credit cards), I'm going to be as informed as possible with what's left of said money. Thus, the data thing. You know. According to the source article above and the New York...

And now she wants them to pay it back. The hip hop star published a series of accusatory tweets on Friday, arguing that major corporations owe African Americans “major bucks” - up to $100 trillion - after profiting from slavery...

Liberals powerless to stop the Clinton-Wall Street gravy train.Despite her best efforts and most passionate gesticulations, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.) failed to shut down the government on Thursday, thus proving her political clout is vastly inferior to that of GOP colleague Ted Cruz. Warren had urged House Democrats to block a controversial spending package, which included a provision to roll back a portion of the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill known as the “swaps pushout” rule. Warren, for the record, does not like Wall Street. “It is time for all of us to stand up and fight,” she said on...

Meet the woman JPMorgan Chase paid one of the largest fines in American history to keep from talking By Matt Taibbi | November 6, 2014 "It was like watching an old lady get mugged on the street," she says. "I thought, 'I can't sit by any longer.'" Fleischmann is the central witness in one of the biggest cases of white-collar crime in American history, possessing secrets that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon late last year paid $9 billion (not $13 billion as regularly reported – more on that later) to keep the public from hearing. Back in 2006, as a...

Word has leaked that JPMorgan Chase and possibly four other banks have been hacked. Details are scarce at this point, but the FBI and other government agencies are involved in the investigation. The hack allegedly took place earlier in August and hackers have siphoned off huge amounts of sensitive data from Chase, including checking and savings account information. Even more concerning, sources say that the attack goes "far beyond the capabilities of ordinary hackers." Given the timing, some security experts are speculating it was the work of high-level Russian hackers. According to an inside source, there has been no increase...

RANT! It's a frustrating situation to have in your hands a check from the US Treasury for over $141,000 and you can't do a darned thing with it except frame it and hang it on the wall as a souvenir. My MIL passed away in 2011, and my wife (as the only surviving relative) was named in the will as the executor of the estate and successor to the trust. The will was filed with the courts in L.A. and the long process began. We paid the IRS $240K the first year in estimated estate taxes along with a request...
