The 30,000 alarmists gathered in Katowice, Poland expected to slam-dunk their report proclaiming a planet-threatening climate crisis, finalize rules for implementing the Paris accords, redistribute infinite billions of dollars from industrialized nations to “climate victim†countries, and solidify their control over people’s energy, jobs, living standards and liberties. It didn’t work out quite that way. They got blindsided by millions of French citizens angrily denouncing their government’s plans to carbon-tax them into worse poverty and joblessness. They were furious that the US exhibit profiled the benefits of fossil fuels – and outraged that the United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait...

Guest post by David ArchibaldWillis Eschenbach’s post on lab work on coral response to elevated carbon dioxide levels, and The Reef Abides, leads to a large scale, natural experiment in Papua New Guinea. There are several places at the eastern end of that country where carbon dioxide is continuously bubbling up through healthy looking coral reef, with fish swimming around and all that that implies.Coral Reef at Dobu Island with carbon dioxide bubbling through it (photo: Bob Halstead)What that implies is that ocean acidification is no threat at all. If the most delicate, fragile, iconic ecosystem of them all can...

U.S. greenhouse gas emissions fell 2.7 percent from 2016 levels, according to the EPA. Emissions on a per-capita basis hit a 67-year low last year, federal data shows, and supporters are touting EPA’s data as proof Trump’s agenda is working. EPA’s new data comes on news that, globally, greenhouse gas emissions are set to rise to historic highs by the end of the year, despite nearly 200 countries signing the Paris climate accord.

Attempts to incorporate a key scientific study into global climate talks in Poland have failed. The IPCC report on the impacts of a temperature rise of 1.5C, had a significant impact when it was launched last October. Scientists and many delegates in Poland were shocked as the US, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Kuwait objected to this meeting "welcoming" the report. Instead they wanted to support a much more lukewarm phrase, that the conference would "take note" of the report. The dispute dragged on as huddles of negotiators met in corners of the plenary session here, trying to agree a compromise...

Nearly 200 nations have agreed rules on implementing the 2015 Paris agreement. After marathon talks in Katowice, Poland, the rulebook was approved unanimously on Saturday evening. The agreement aims to deliver the Paris goals of limiting global temperature rises to well below 2C. The final session was delayed by more than 30 hours amid an ongoing stand-off over carbon markets to reduce emissions. Some accused the hosts of not shepherding the agreement through.

Even if you don't like Glenn Beck, you must watch these videos. This story blew my mind. I can't believe this isn't the headlines on every news channel. We're screwed if folks don't get mad as hell about this story. Are we American's so blind or are we all feeling hopeless to do anything. Click link to view videos.

The United Nations body that oversees greenhouse gas reductions is reeling from another cap-and-trade scandal that may have put 600 million tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere — roughly speaking, the annual CO2 output of Canada or Britain — while the emissions were ostensibly suppressed, according to an independent study. In the process, the fraudsters, largely in Russia and Ukraine, were likely able to transfer credits for more than 400 million tons of their apparently bogus greenhouse savings by April 2015 into Europe's commercial carbon trading system — the largest in the world — thereby undermining that continent's ambitious...

BOULDER, Colo. - - Behind a locked door on the ground floor of a new University of Colorado science center here, a laboratory outfitted with specially reinforced concrete floors sits dark and empty, like a dining room set for a guest who never arrived. In this case, the no-show is a $2 million, 12-ton machine that is vital to addressing global warming. The machine, a high-precision accelerator mass spectrometer, uses nuclear physics to detect the presence of a rare, heavy isotope of carbon. It enables scientists to distinguish fossil fuel emissions from all other sources of carbon dioxide in the...

The sky is falling! So goes the Left's reaction to President Trump's unequivocal declaration that the Paris Climate Accord is a "bad deal" for America. Thank you, Mr. President, for not following the lemmings over the cliff. We should not be surprised that other nations relentlessly advocated for confirmation of the accord. President Obama, true to his many other progressive policy initiatives, sought to commit the United States to the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the world. The accord provided Obama justification for imposing punitive measures against the United States, but allowed China, India, and other developing...

President Trump's administration is coming off as "tongue-tied and confused" about climate change because "the truth is still inconvenient" for companies and industries that emit heavy emissions that contribute to global warming, former Vice President Al Gore said. On "This Week" Sunday, Gore was asked by ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos about comments by EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt earlier on the show that it doesn't matter whether the president believes in man-made climate change because the U.S. is still leading by example in the world in its reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. "The administration comes off as tongue-tied and...

Recently, it was revealed that Volkswagen had been duping diesel-emissions tests on some of its high-end environmentally friendly cars. People were outraged. The CEO resigned. About the same time, Alberta Premier Rachel Notley told the Alberta Chambers of Commerce that her province had better get its environmental house in order or it would have measures imposed upon it. She also said that Alberta has “bad air.”Really? I challenge that statement. In 2011, Canada’s air was judged to be the third highest quality in the world. In 2006, Environment Canada reported that Red Deer was an unusual hot spot for poor...

United Nations and its member regimes must sidestep the U.S. Constitution and the American people’s elected representatives to save the world from global warming, declared French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius (shown). Speaking to representatives of African governments and dictators during UN “climate” talks in Germany on Monday, the Socialist Party foreign policy chief explained that the U.S. Congress would refuse to approve the proposed planetary climate regime. As such, the emerging agreement, set to be finalized in Paris later this year, must be imposed on the United States by the Obama administration and the UN — without the consent of...

(CNN)—NASA's rockets are astounding machines, capable of blasting into space at thousands of miles per hour and withstanding temperatures twice the melting point of steel. But they can't take off underwater. Rising sea levels caused by melting ice caps threaten to disrupt a handful of NASA launch sites along U.S. coastlines, the space agency warns. In the coming years, launch facilities at Florida's Kennedy Space Center and other places may need to be retrofitted or even moved inland, NASA says. "Every NASA center has its own set of vulnerabilities, and some are more at risk than others," NASA climatologist...

Transparently Predictable Political “Tripwires”.. August 10, 2015 First the good news ! Many people are beginning to have the awakening, the fundamental paradigm shift needed to understand the rather complex construct of the GOPe machine. At the request of many people who are only recently accepting the scope of the ruse, that is the 2016 GOP primary, we are going to begin identifying the “tripwires” before they are crossed, and then highlighting the tripwire WHEN it is crossed. Yesterday we told you of a specific “tripwire” to look for. Today, we share what it looks like moments before it is...

Europe’s leaders are about to consign the Earth to the risk of dangerous climate change, a UN expert says. Prof Jim Skea, a vice-chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, says the EU’s plan to cut CO2 emissions 40% by 2030 is too weak. He says it will commit future governments to “extraordinary and unprecedented” emissions cuts. The Commission rejected the claim, saying the 40% target puts Europe on track for long-term climate goals. Prof Skea believes governments are setting targets by what appears to be politically achievable rather than what is necessary to transform the way we make...

Obama Calls For Climate Change Action In California Commencement Speech Speaking at University of California, Irvine, president compares science denial to saying 'moon is made of cheese' Barack Obama yelled 'Zot, Zot, Zot', as he makes the symbols of the Anteater, the school's mascot. Barack Obama on Saturday repeated his recent appeals for action to prevent climate change, while speaking at the University of California, Irvine graduation ceremony. “The question is not whether we need to act,” the president said, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. “The overwhelming judgement of science, accumulated and reviewed over decades, has put the that to...

I was perusing through the news and saw many articles on the horrific destruction the storm in the Philippines had wrought. As I reading through the stories at Google, yahoo News, the term 'Climate Negotiator' kept on appearing in article after article. Well, I had no idea what a Climate Negotiator is, does. I mean, trying to negotiate with the climate seems a sissyphean task if not the most mentally stable thing to attempt. I tried searching Google, Yahoo for some precise meaning, job description for a Climate Negotiator but information was far and few between. It seems it is...

Remember Enron, the corrupt firm whose failure should have disproved the myth "too big to fail", but didn't? At the time it was the seventh largest corporation. It's bankruptcy was the largest in history until Lehman Brothers failed. Incidentally, Lehman Brothers was also involved in carbon trading. Enron owed part of its early success to emissions trading. Basically emissions trading was established as a way for some companies to profit from pollution while allowing some companies to continue to produce the chemicals that can cause acid rain. Lawrence Solomon, executive director of Energy Probe and Urban Renaissance Institute, is reporting...
