Two parents in northern California have been arrested for child endangerment after authorities allegedly found their two toddler sons inside cages bolted to a bedroom wall. Modoc County Sheriff Tex Dowdy said Tuesday that deputies arrested 25-year-old Ramon Zendejas and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Mercadies Williams on Friday on illegal firearms possession and child endangerment charges. Both are now in the Modoc County Jail held on $10,000 bail each, Action News Now reported.

A 15-year-old girl who was forcibly separated from her mother after fleeing to the U.S. from El Salvador described to a Washington State investigator how she was crammed into a windowless room with 60 other girls and deprived of proper sleep or food for three days. This is the heart-breaking moment male beagles kept in captivity inside a laboratory were released from their cages for the first time. Assistant St. Paul Police Chief Matt Bostrom on Monday assured state lawmakers that demonstrators outside the Republican National Convention won't be confined to fenced-in areas.
