Two parents in northern California have been arrested for child endangerment after authorities allegedly found their two toddler sons inside cages bolted to a bedroom wall. Modoc County Sheriff Tex Dowdy said Tuesday that deputies arrested 25-year-old Ramon Zendejas and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Mercadies Williams on Friday on illegal firearms possession and child endangerment charges. Both are now in the Modoc County Jail held on $10,000 bail each, Action News Now reported.
  • Rep. Ocasio-Cortez's wild, wacky, and wonderful questioning of Wells Fargo chairman

Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez should get her own reality TV show. It would be a comedy, of course, with cameras following her around to record a typical day in the life of the face of the Democratic party. Those cameras would record some of the most illogical, incoherent, idiotic, and just plain weird statements from a woman whose worldview has been shaped by socialism. That she's an ignoramus with a primary school understanding of most issues is a bonus. Yesterday, Ocasio-Cortez "grilled" the chairman of Wells Fargo, Timothy Sloan, asking him a series of bizarre questions about "caging migrant children" and...
  • Teen taken at border says 60 girls were kept in 'icebox' cages(barf)

    07/04/2018 6:53:08 AM PDT · by BBell · 28 replies
A 15-year-old girl who was forcibly separated from her mother after fleeing to the U.S. from El Salvador described to a Washington State investigator how she was crammed into a windowless room with 60 other girls and deprived of proper sleep or food for three days. The room was divided by wire fencing into three cages, with each one holding 20 separated girls -- some as young as 3 years old, according to an affidavit filed late Monday (July 2) in federal court in Seattle. The girls, who weren't told when they'd see their parents again, called it the "icebox."...

On September 4, 2001, Robert Mueller took over the FBI. At his confirmation hearings, fraud had overshadowed discussions of terrorism. And as FBI Director, Mueller quickly diverged from the common understanding that the attacks that killed 3,000 people had been an act of war rather than a crime. In 2008, Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi, who had been unleashed from Guantanamo Bay, carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq. Al-Ajmi had been represented by Thomas Wilner who was being paid by the Kuwaiti government. Wilner was a pal of Robert Mueller. And when the families were having dinner together, Mueller got up...
  • The truth behind this photo of an ‘immigrant child’ crying inside a cage

A photo of a little boy crying in a cage is being shared on social media as seemingly another heart-rending byproduct of the White House’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, which separates undocumented parents and kids at the border. There’s only one problem: The picture is being completely taken out of context — and does not show what it is purported to show.

In order to deter the Syrian and Russian Air Forces inside the East Ghouta (collection of farms) region of rural Damascus, the U.S. backed moderate rebels from “Jaysh Al-Islam” (Army of Islam) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have placed kidnapped Alawite women in cages to protect themselves from airstrikes. The U.S. backed Syrian Opposition’s social media activists posted the photos of the six kidnapped Alawite women on Twitter, adding their extra commentary that included sectarian insults to degrade the helpless women and taunt the Syrian President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad. This is not the first time that the U.S. backed...

This is the heart-breaking moment male beagles kept in captivity inside a laboratory were released from their cages for the first time. Scared and visibly unsure of leaving the confines of their cages, the dogs were among many being used for lab testing in Spain before it went out of business. A total of 72 beagles were rescued by members of Animal Rescue Media Education (ARME) during the operation - most of whom had never been outside their cages.

Assistant St. Paul Police Chief Matt Bostrom on Monday assured state lawmakers that demonstrators outside the Republican National Convention won't be confined to fenced-in areas. Bostrom said the city might erect barricades but he doesn't envision enclosures where protesters would be relegated. He told a legislative panel that demonstrators will be granted "sight and sound" access to the Xcel Energy Center, where the main convention business will be conducted next September. At the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, that city set up a "free-speech zone" outside the FleetCenter surrounded by fences, barricades and razor wire. Protesters complained that the...

NORWALK, Ohio - Some of the special-needs children who slept in cage-like beds fitted with alarms had asked for the structures to be built, their adoptive mother testified at a custody hearing. Sharen Gravelle testified Wednesday that she and her husband Michael built bunk beds and attached a wooden playhouse the family called a club house for some of the children's toys. The other children then requested them and the couple felt the brightly painted beds enclosed with wood and wire helped keep them from getting into trouble at night, she said. The couple have pleaded not guilty to several...

WAKEMAN, Ohio (AP) - The 11 special needs children removed from a house where authorities say some of them slept in homemade cages are polite, well-behaved, well-dressed and appear to have been fed well, neighbors and authorities said Tuesday. Their adoptive parents, Michael Gravelle, 56, and Sharen Gravelle, 57, denied in a custody hearing Monday that they abused or neglected the children, who are ages 1-14 and have conditions that included autism and fetal alcohol syndrome. No charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon, and messages left with their lawyer, David Sherman of Westlake, were not immediately returned. Neighbors...

SARS found in restaurant animal cages Updated 17:00 16 January 04 NewScientist.com news service Traces of the SARS virus have been found in civet cages at a restaurant in China where a person with suspected SARS worked, the World Health Organization has announced. The finding provides more evidence yet of a widely suspected link between civets and the disease in humans. A WHO inspection team examined the TDL Wildlife Restaurant in Guangzhou city after a 20-year-old waitress fell ill. Civets, which are related to the mongoose, are eaten as a delicacy in southern China. They are sold in busy food...
