Spokane Marines are leaving for Camp Pendleton and then on to Iraq on Saturday, July 17th. Meet us at the Marine Building on the west side of 5200 N. Assembly at 8am on Saturday to send them off in style and with our support. Wear red, white and blue. Bring flags and signs. Directions: 5200 N. Assembly is west of Division and west of Maple, South of Francis and North of Wellesley. The Marine Building is just north of the Spokane VA Medical Center.

President Bush will be in Spokane, WA on Thursday, June 17th for the Nethercutt campaign. Join us to welcome the President with a rally in support of him in front of the convention center on Spokane Falls Blvd. We plan to be there from 4pm till 7pm. John Kerry will be making a visit to Washington on Wednesday May 26. He will deliver a speech on energy at Pier 62-63 in downtown Seattle at 9:45am on the 26th. The speech is open to the public. This is a great opportunity for us to show Kerry that Washington is Bush Country. Please do your best to get down to Pier 62 with signs, Bush-Cheney placards, etc - arrive early to get a good spot. John Kerry signed an agreement as part of his naval officer commission to serve at least 3 years on active duty and the remainder of his obligated 6 year service in the Ready Reserves. Ready Reserves are those who must attend drills. While the war was heating up in Iraq, the Bush and Kerry campaigns spent part of the last week arguing over military records from several wars ago. Specifically, on Sen. War is indeed a terrible thing but many forget that it isn't the worst possible state of affairs. Let us not forget Rwanda and other places where a war was not fought and the death toll numbered in the millions. That 3,200 to 4,300 civilians have been unintentionally killed in Iraq is indeed lamentable but it doesn't hold a candle to 100,000 people intentionally killed in Saddam's Anfal campaign in Kurdish Northern Iraq.
