You folks be especially careful. We here your radicals are foaming at the mouth...and that's not from their mochachinos.

We're rallying Saturday in Nashville:

MIDDLE TENNESSEE CONSERVATIVES, GOOD CITIZENS and FREE REPUBLIC MEMBERS:

A Call To Mobilize in Response to A.N.S.W.E.R.-Sponsored “Say No To War” Protest and March on Saturday, March 20, 2003; Noon to 2:00 PM

Please come out in support of our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and help counter media’s lopsided depiction of public opinion. Nothing boosts those who serve better than seeing the folks at home backing their efforts!

Let's show America and our boys (and girls) over there fighting that the majority of us are calm-minded, intelligent people and that the protestors really are in the minority!

We hope to have a good turnout at the Federal Building by 11:30 and will coordinate from there.

Some other useful things (if you don't mind):

The more signs the better (for people who don't have one). Large, neatly-printed lettering shows up best when printed in the media or shown on television. Simplicity and good taste are more effective than long and harsh messages. Here are some signs gathered from Free Republic rallies in the past:

“WAR HAS NEVER SOLVED ANYTHING
Except for ending Slavery, Fascism, Nazism, & Communism”

“Communism Has Only Killed 100 Million People
LET’S GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE!”

“Saddam Only Killed His Own People
IT’S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!”

“We GAVE Peace a Chance
We Got 9-11 in Return”

“Anti-War = Pro-Terror’

“Anti-War = Pro-Surrender”

“Appeasement Prevents Peace”

In the patriotic spirit:

“SUPPORT OUR TROOPS”

“THANK YOU, TROOPS!”

“Blessed Are The Peace-Makers
ARMY NAVY AIR FORCE MARINES”

“Thank a Warrior for Your Right To Protest”

“PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH”

“THESE COLORS DON’T RUN (with U.S. flag)

“Are You Free? THANK A SOLDIER”

SAFETY, IMAGE & COMMON SENSE:
Here is some excellent advice from a fellow Freeper who participated in counter-protests when the war began last year:

Posted on 03/23/2003 3:44:06 PM CST by thunders

“I just wanted to warn everyone, even though I know it has already been done, to be careful about your actions at counter-protests and the like. We must take care to not be the violent or confrontational ones. We don't want bad media attention--let them continue to get it!

We must stay calm and take care what we say. We do not want to seem like the "bad guys". That is the place we want to reserve for the hippie protestors. Be careful what you chant; we are there to support our country and our troops, not to push ourselves as war mongers and violent, simple-minded people.

Try to ignore those protestors who are being confrontational with you. We should also try to stay a distance away from the main crowd of people, in order to prevent clashes. I would suggest, if it comes down to it, and there is a protestor who is being overly pushy with the group and won't let up, it would be a good idea to let one of the officers present know what is happening, just in case some violence ends up breaking out.

Just be careful about your safety and the safety of others in your group, as well as the meaning behind what you say or chant in response to their chants.

I'd say our counter-protest was successful, simply because we got media attention, we had passers-by giving us positive comments and even joining us, and we succeeded in making the protestors nervous enough for them to yell at us over the loudspeaker, bring even yet more attention to us."

Other tips:
Comfortable shoes are a must. PATRIOTIC WEAR, especially hats, really stands out and helps us quickly sort ourselves from the anti-Americans.

Bullhorns and megaphones are good to bring if you have them, as well as portable water and snacks. FLAGS! United States and Washington State, if you have them. Representations on posters are great, too. Please bring and use your cameras (and put your stuff on FR).

Here is today's Spokesman Review article on the peace pukes: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/news-story.asp?date=031904&ID=s1500803&cat=section.spokane

Activists plan 'War Means Death' march on Saturday

From staff reports

The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane has organized a rally and procession Saturday for a Global Day of Action.

Activists will join others around the world that day by gathering at 1 p.m. at Franklin Park on the North Side.

The WMD (War Means Death) March will focus on "ending the U.S. occupation of Iraq and bringing the troops home safely and quickly," according to PJALS.

The event will include music, speakers and a walk of about 11/2 miles. It will feature a flag memorial with names of hundreds of Americans and Iraqis who have died, as well as a booth where people who could be drafted into the military may register as conscientious objectors.

The gathering will be in the northeastern corner of the park at Division Street and Nebraska Avenue.

Similar rallies will be held in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and cities across the globe.

For more information, call 838-7870.
