The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane has organized a rally and procession Saturday for a Global Day of Action.
Activists will join others around the world that day by gathering at 1 p.m. at Franklin Park on the North Side.
The WMD (War Means Death) March will focus on "ending the U.S. occupation of Iraq and bringing the troops home safely and quickly," according to PJALS.
The event will include music, speakers and a walk of about 11/2 miles. It will feature a flag memorial with names of hundreds of Americans and Iraqis who have died, as well as a booth where people who could be drafted into the military may register as conscientious objectors.
The gathering will be in the northeastern corner of the park at Division Street and Nebraska Avenue.
Similar rallies will be held in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and cities across the globe.
