Australian police stormed into a Catholic mass Friday evening searching for mask less individuals. Sky News Australia reported that St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Mount Hawthorn, Perth had to pause its service while a police officer walked through the church to “ensure every parishioner was masked.” The parishioner, in his interview, added that the police “proceeded to check three or four parishioners’ exemptions and then left, everything was in order,” he said, referring to an exemption which is required from a doctor for somebody to skip the mask requirement.

U.S. passenger airline traffic fell 60.1% in 2020 to the lowest number since 1984 as the COVID-19 pandemic devastated demand for air travel, the U.S. Transportation Department said on Tuesday. In total, there were 368 million passengers in 2020, down from 922.6 million in 2019. The previous yearly low was 351.6 million in 1984, the department said. December air travel fell 62%, slightly more than the decline in November, the department said. A white Georgia state representative is drawing outrage from several educators and support from some students after requesting information to determine whether professors are teaching materials that say white people are privileged and oppressive. The questions sent late last month to leaders at various public Georgia colleges and universities by Rep. Emory Dunahoo, a North Georgia Republican, included: “Are any classes within the Georgia public school system or the University System of Georgia teaching students who identify as white, male, heterosexual, or Christian are intrinsically privileged and oppressive, which is defined as ‘malicious or unjust’ and ‘wrong’?”

Hatfield U.S. Courthouse in Portland.
