Gov. Kemp: AJC needs to be part of solution, not the problem
AJC ^ | Brian P. Kemp

Posted on 08/23/2020 6:39:27 AM PDT by vg0va3

Finally, the AJC should remember that our rights are worth protecting, even during a crisis. The paper chided my decision to protect private property owners from government overreach and urge – not mandate – Georgians to wear masks. This is still America, right?

The only way to beat COVID-19 is by having all Georgians make smart decisions. You can mandate masks and issue stay-at-home orders, but every person will ultimately decide what to follow and what to ignore. People – not government – stop the spread. Georgians doing the right thing will make a difference, not smug editorials.

This is a critical moment in our fight against COVID-19 and it’s time for the AJC to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

The only good thing AJC ever did was publish Lewis Grizzard’s columns.

I would change “even in a crisis” to especially during a crisis. Makes more sense to me.

Brian Kemp has been steadfast and strident. He is “the man.” Although he probably isn’t presidential material, this guy, along with Kristi Noem, has been a tremendous leader and has taken a lot of arrows. Great job, Governor!

That’s exactly right. If these media figures spent half the time educating the public on factual information vs. contrived narratives simply designed to harm politicians they don’t like, things could actually be much better. But that’s not their mission.

The local rag is all panic, all the time. As best I can tell, its readership is now made up largely of black politicians and would-be politicians, who seem to catch only the headlines online. I don’t know anybody who actually subscribes to it, but somebody is keeping it afloat nonetheless.

Kemp has been very good, although some of the local governments have been not so good.. I live in Florida but I’m in North Georgia right now to get a little more freedom than our mayor in Jacksonville is allowing us.

Our governor is also good, but some of the mayors and county officials are insane, Issuing “mandates” all over the places, and they seem to have all the power.

That said, what’s really imposing these masks and stupid social distancing and shut down policies are the press and the people they have terrified. So that’s why you see tourists from Atlanta here trudging back and forth, silent and eyes downcast, with masks plastered to their faces, and also why a number of stores have had to post mask policies (because of the vicious social media complaints of the masked Karens).

I think Kemp has done a fine job, and I emailed his office saying so. He’s certainly worth the hour and a half I spent waiting in line to vote for him.

I read the other day that the AJC had sent out thousands (seems like more than 5000) ‘surveys’ to ‘prominent business leaders’, seeking their political prognostications. Well, so-of-a-gun, Biden came out on top. Way down in the story it was revealed that the response rate to the survey was under 15%.

C’mon man!

Hope Kemp can screw up the courage to explain how the public health establishment is continuing to stir up hysteria based on bad data and cameras focusing on the very worst cases.

The AJC are a bunch of lay people who don't know shit about viruses or the use of masks.

They are way in over their heads and out of their depth in knowing what to do, so they do the worse thing possible because they want to look like they know what they are doing and end up doing more harm than good.

Since when in this country have we relied on a bunch of unknowledgeable, uneducated, unscientific lay people to dictate to us what we should do about our health and wellbeing?

What is happening in this country regarding the handling of this viral pandemic is ludicrous.

Watch this video to become properly informed. Don't rely on the government or the media to be informed. They have agendas and narratives to match those agendas.

In most cases the government mandates are unconstitutional at minimum and illegal at best.
