An explosion has occurred in the back of Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville, which knocked out power in town, a sheriff's official confirmed Tuesday afternoon. A Gatesville Police Department official concerned 'a major incident' in the city on Tuesday afternoon. A Department of Public Safety official said that multiple agencies are responding to the hospital in Gatesville, located at 1507 West Main St. Killeen Fire Department said they were responding with two ambulances, one engine and one rescue truck.

The Labor Department today announced that it had approved Trade Adjustment Assistance for the former employees of the bankrupt solar panel maker Solyndra. That means all of the firm’s 1,100 ex-employees are eligible for federal aid packages, including job retraining and income assistance. The department has valued packages at about $13,000 a head.

A bond of $1 million was set in court this morning for an American Eagle flight attendant accused of stealing another man's identity to fly around the world. Jophan Porter, 38, was charged with six counts of identity fraud Friday and is currently in Miami-Dade County jail. He also faces multiple counts of possessing stolen or fraudulent identification and forgery. Porter assumed the identity of Anthony Frair, who lives in New York and claims not to know the man, authorities claim. Authorities said Porter is from Guyana and is in the country illegally.

Several massive wildfires in North and West Texas continued to rage Tuesday, racing through parched fields and woods and adding to a sweeping acreage toll that has reached almost 1.2 million in less than two weeks. A wildfire spanning four counties west of Fort Worth near Possum Kingdom Lake has consumed nearly 150,000 acres, destroyed 150 homes and a church, and forced hundreds to flee since it began Friday, Texas Forest Service spokesman Marq Webb said. A volunteer fireman died fighting a rural fire in southern Eastland County on Friday afternoon. Gregory M. Simmons, 51, was an Eastland volunteer fireman for 11 years, the Eastland Fire Department said. The fire began near Kokomo and moved toward Gorman. The fire was not contained as of early Friday evening. Five fires began shortly after noon Friday, and the county said numerous fires remained out of control there. Simmons was with the Sachse Fire Department for 10 years before moving to Eastland, the department said.

A WOMAN suffered injuries to her face and chest after being headbutted by a 7ft MOOSE. The 50-stone animal attacked her as she tried to CUDDLE it. The 24-year-old woman had spotted the moose eating from a tree in Anchorage, Alaska. A police spokeswoman warned people "not to agitate the moose".

Clint Dobson was suffocated with a plastic bag and his assistant severely beaten inside NorthPointe Baptist Church, the suspects in his slaying laughed while watching a television news report about the case, according to court documents.
