Dirty water? I recall reading a book by adventurers in Asia where the local guides would stuff plugs of tobacco in "where the sun didn't shine" when having to wade/swim through waters which had parasitic worms. The Cuban sure didn't help Monica from that slick worm parasite.

    Another 'Monica' in Clinton's life!

    ANI[ FRIDAY, JUNE 25, 2004 04:33:28 PM ]
LONDON: Bill Clinton's infamous affair with Monica Lewinsky might be public knowledge with the release of his autobiography My Life , but it seems love is on the roll again for the former US president.

According to The Sun , Clinton is allegedly said to be having a passionate affair with a wealthy divorcee. He is reported to be seeing a beautiful blonde for more than a year at a hideaway in Westchester County, New York, according to the National Enquirer .

The unidentified woman is said to have several young children and got millions in a divorce settlement a few years ago.

"Bill Clinton has been sneaking off to the home of this woman for late-night trysts after her kids are in bed," The Enquirer quoted an insider as saying.

Reagan was real to the common man, compared to most of the career politician leaders with their we know better than you because of their cultivated special interest connections, "ivy-league" club mentality, liberal media disciples who spread their lies and message of social engineering to ensnare and then enslave the suckers to vote and keep them and their leaches in power while taking away individuality - pessimism indeed was the order of the day. Thatcher probably could not have lasted as long to turn the British mess around without Reagan doing the same across the pond.

Interesting to see the name Lord Liverpool who most would have no idea. I didn't but do recognize the name now only because recently I read "White Mughals" by William Dalrymple who mentioned in the book that Lord Liverpool was of Anglo-Indian descent. East and west apparently did mix freely in those days until Imperialism took over in the 19th century. His other book "From The Holy Mountain" gives a good introductory current perspective (from my conclusion) of the existence of the mess in the Middle East once Christianity was driven out by Islam, destroying highly civilized Byzantium, Egyptian, and Persian civilizations and the continuing destruction of original Christian lands, founding churches, monasteries, holy sites, fleeing of Christians, the loss of individual liberties, etc. The many "heresies" of Christianity where John Damascene considered Islam to be just another heretical form of Christianity - blending other beliefs with it (more from Judaism if you look at it) to form a new offshoot.

There are those who will claim it is capitalism, tough crap, if companies go out of business to large mega-companies or monopolies. Unions gain popularity when when workers find they are getting the short end of the stick from upper management when cost of living is going up. What most forget is that high costs of living are driven by over-taxing, environmental extremism, social welfare programs, etc. These lead to higher priced goods in the U.S., particularly in over liberal states like California. Instead of correcting these problems by curbing or eliminating them, big businesses and their politician buddies promote free trade and turn a blind eye on ilegal immigration. By this approach they get cheap labor and lower priced goods. It becomes better for them dealing with commie China as by brute force they can keep prices down and profit margins high for their stockholders. Only problem is that manufacturing/farm jobs decline. But who cares when a country like US has enough wealth and resources to handle deficits for next few decades - just sweep those annoying truths under the carpet without correcting them - just scare the voters. Capitalism is fine when it gives freedom to entrepreneurship but not to mega monopolies who use it for profit margins to satisfy a gambling stockmarket and their select circles. Runaway capitalism caused the depression which screwed the U.S. by giving them FDR who laid the seeds of socialism or communism and had time to see these harmful weeds take root and grow and choke the Republican Ideal.

The "William" Books were written by Richmal Crompton, a woman!!!! Excellent stuff they used to write and publish then at turn of last century in schoolboy stories. Then there are the Billy Bunter series ( by Frank Richards or rather Charle Hamilton who wrote the equivalent of over 1000 novels and is the most prolific writer according to Guiness), which if you read now are so politically incorrect. All British.

The U.S. had Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn though most nowadays think Bart Simpson is the original bad boy followed by Beavis and Butthead. The real and original U.S. bad boy is Peck's Bad Boy and His Father which is hilarious (and violent) and makes Bart look like a wimp. They sure liked their humour violent like the Three Stooges in those days.

    Here is an older version:

God decided to make a woman. He put Adam to sleep and took out a rib to "clone" Eve. But an immediate celestial emergency forced him to put aside the rib and go away for an interval. Satan, still not a fallen angel but with ambitions, was hovering around to learn God's secrets. A dog came by and ran away with the rib. God came back and was mighty miffed. Not wanting to waste any critical time and seeing Satan nearby, he lopped off a portion of Satan's tail and used it as a substitute for Adam's rib to create Eve. Satan was real mad about it as he now had a spiked tail from the cut. We all know what happened afterwards with the forbidden fruit and why women can sometimes act like the devil or hang out with devils!!!

Ever since the liberals, beancounters, ambulance chasers, and MBAs took over the Music and Radio industry, free expression and creativity has been severely curtailed. This is a prime examples where unrestrained capitalism has created monopolies who wipe out individuality with their one world order creed.

Another factor that most people overlook too is the decline of Christianity with each subsequent generation in Western Societies. The universal appeal of Western Music is based upon Christain exuberance in choirs and congregation singing hymns together in mass unison. Many musicians had their first musical exposure and training in Churches. Check out black gospel music. The religious fervor and ecstacy of black gospel music fused into western music and then evolved with electronic amplification and effects to give us rock and roll. The musicians of the past had to perform many differents styles which they fused into developing their own style. Current musicians have no such depth and they grow up hearing canned corporate crap.

Mob mentality in a panic is scary-you just get pushed along like a single organism. If you have experienced being packed like sardines in front of rock concerts, you will have experienced the uncontrollable pushing and swaying of the whole mass. Getting jammed in the door is not surprising in this panic.

Kalpana listened to rock and raga on Columbia
    CHIDANAND RAJGHATTA
    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/cms.dll/html/uncomp/articleshow?artid=36643868
TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 06, 2003 10:24:21 AM ]

WASHINGTON: The sweet strains of Pandit Ravi Shankar's sitar and Hariprasad
Chaurasia's flute. The sonorous songs of Abida Parveen and Nusrat Fateh Ali
Khan. The smooth jazz of Thelonius Monk and the raging rock of Deep Purple.

As if it needed proving that music is universal and cosmic, these were among
the 20 CD's Kalpana Chawla carried into space on Columbia STS-107 mission.
The eclectic collection was chosen by Kalpana's husband Jean-Pierre Harrison
and Deep Purple's lead rocker Ian Gillan.

In a pre-mishap write-up on the Deep Purple website (www.deep-purple.net),
    Harrison, who is
evidently a DP fan and later friend and who introduced her to the rock
group, says Kalpana selected Purple's Machine Head and Purpendicular albums
because they had aviation/space-related songs (Space Truckin and The
    Aviator, respectively).

"As my wife, STS-107 crewmember Kalpana Chawla, has commented, 'Deep Purple
has something so superior.' She and I attended the DP concert in Bossier
City, Louisiana, during the 2001 US tour, her first-ever rock concert and my
first-ever DP concert. Kalpana is not exactly a rock music aficionado, but
nevertheless characterised the show as a spiritual experience," the
    Frenchman Harrison writes.

Accompanying them to the concert was Rona Ramon, wife of the Israeli
astronaut Ilan Ramon who also died in the Shuttle disaster.

According to Harrison, Shuttle crewmembers were given the option of
selecting wakeup music during their missions. Kalpana asked him for
suggestions so he passed the buck to Ian Gillan (whom he had never
previously met) via the email address on the group's website. He also sent
him a list of the already selected wakeup music selections which included
pieces by Abida Parveen, Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar.

Apparently Gillan and the Band cracked up when they saw the list because
their selection was Space Truckin, a piece Harrison elegantly describes as a
"little more insistent than the others." But he assured the group that Space
Truckin' was quite subtle compared to some of the selections played during
previous missions, such as marching band performances of university fight
    songs.

Harrison then presented Gillan with the Machine Head, Purpendicular and Down
to Earth CDs which he took to the other DP members for their signatures.
Kalpana was to have sent back all the CDs she carried on the Shuttle to the
respective artists after the mission with certificates of flight, says
    Harrison.

Gillan, an aging rocker who has performed in India as recently as last
summer, is evidently devastated by the shuttle disaster. "I'm sitting here
stunned and hopeless in my apartment in Los Angeles, re-reading yesterday's
LA Sunday Times. The headline reads 'Columbia Is Lost'," he writes on the
    website.

"On behalf of all of us here, and those of you who read this, I send love
and deep respect to J P Harrison, and all the other friends, families and
colleagues of Columbia's final crew," he mourns. "It may seem odd at such a
time, but the strongest image of them all, that I personally retain from
this whole experience, is Kalpana Chawla's wide and wonderful smile.

    SPACE TRUCKIN' lyrics

We had a lot of luck on Venus
We always had a ball on Mars
    Meeting all the groovey people
We've rocked the Milky Way so far
    We danced around with Borealice
We're space truckin' round the the stars
Come on let's go Space Truckin'

Remember when we did the moonshot
And Pony Trekker led the way
We'd move to the Canaveral moonstop
And everynaut would dance and sway
We got music in our solar system
We're space truckin' round the stars
Come on let's go Space Truckin'

The fireball that we rode was moving
But now we've got a new machine
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah the freaks said
Man those cats can really swing
They got music in their solar system
They've rocked around the Milky Way
    They dance around the Borealice
    They're Space Truckin' everyday

Well responded. There are those who are blinded by unbridled capitalism and dismiss anyone questioning them as lefties. The businesses who import do not really reduce their prices. Tariffs do protect the country and its industries most of the time. To reduce the cost of goods, reduce taxes, big government, out of control unions, trial lawyers, environmental and medical quackery, and other politically correct nonsenses which add to the costs of living. By eliminating tariffs and flooding with cheap imports, the problems are swept under the rug and so are incentives to solve the problems. Right now all the corporations like to maintain trade with Red China despite its flagrant abuses because it guarantees them cheap slave labour and high profit margins.
