Nonetheless, diesal is much cheaper to produce than premium gasoline. No way in hell am I paying more for it, I'll buy a horse first. Oil companies which want to play that game can play it with somebody else.

I don't think it needs to be complicated. The 100,000 man total replacement every generation scheme I mentioned which is massively beyond anything possible in the real world wouldn't take you to anything better than an ape with a slightly shorter tail in the 10 million years we supposedly took to evolve from the "ape-like-ancestor(TM)"

That to me is as far as I need to read. Haldane worked out the math for real world scenarios and figured a species like ours could substitute one point mutation totally through the population in about 300 generations for a total of about 1700 since Alley Oop. That's there the "quadrillions of years" phraseology you see comes from. Being an evolutionite himself he also stated that somebody would likely come along and prove him wrong sooner or later, but nobody has.

    Evolution is basically FUBAR.

Diesal fuel recently has been twenty or thirty cents a gallon more than premium gas. THAT will have to stop before I ever buy a diesal car.

One guy who definitely did not deserve to be in the wilderness is George Allen. How the hell did republicans allow the Soros/KKKlinton spin machine to spin him as some sort of a fruitcake and replace him with an outright pervert like Slick KKKlinton?

It isn't really even higher math, more like simple arithematic. It goes like this:

Imagine a simplest possible case in which a population of 100,000 individual "ape-like ancestors(TM)" are living in Africa or anywhere else about 10 million years ago which is longer than anybody claims anything remotely like humans have been around, and two of the individuals get a "beneficial mutation(TM)" again assuming such a thing ever happens which is highly doubtful. Suppose also that this beneficial mutation is so good that all 99,998 other individuals immediately fall over dead from jealousy and that the two with the beneficial mutation immediately somehow produce 100,000 kids to entirely replace the herd.

Suppose also that this same thing happens again 20 years later and again 40 years later i.e. that every generation some new "beneficial mutation" gets entirely substituted into the population, which is immensely and wildly in excess of any real-world substitution rate which is possible.

20 Goes into ten million about 500,000 times so that at the end of the 10 million years the most extreme case imaginable would give you 500,000 point mutations, which is like about a half or third of one percent of the genetic difference between us and a neanderthal or a chimpanzee. You'd never get there in the whole history of the Earth.

Trying to claim that multiple "beneficial mutations" spread around at all times won't work since the vast overwhelming bulk of mutations, if not all of them, are harmful or fatal; try to spread more than one mutation completely through a population of animals at one time and the species will die out.

Likewise you'd need a certain population level to ever see a "beneficial mutation" even in theory so that the Gould/Eldridge idea of solving the problem by claiming that all evolutionary change occurs amongst tiny groups of individuals which get walled off somehow or other can't be made to work either.

Just modern mathematics. Evolution is incompatable with it.

Here's the real other side of the picture.

Even if you were to accept the most simpleminded account possible of the Haldane dilemma, and the account which favors evolution most heavily, it would still take trillions if not quadrillions of years to get (via evolution) from something like a neanderthal to something like us, and you've only got a few thousand.

The fossil record is the thing which shows no interbreeding. The DNA evidence provides the explanation.

Other researchers in evolutionary biology said the new study offered strong support for the long-disputed idea that archaic species like Neanderthals contributed to the modern human gene pool.

Why do you guys keep posting this garbage? It's a known fact that neanderthals contributed nothing discernable to the genetic makeup of modern man and that neanderthal DNA is usually described as "about halfway between ours and that of a chimpanzee". This is the thing which has ruled the neanderthal out as a plausible human ancestor; to be descended from something, at some point, you have to be able to interbreed with the something, and we could no more interbreed with neanderthals than we could with baboons, or with goats or sheep for that matter. Humans and neanderthals lived in close proximity for protracted periods. There should have been a LOT of evidence of crossbreeding; the fact that there was ZERO such evidence was a big mystery until the DNA analyses came in.

Further, the fact that all other hominids are much further removed from us than the neanderthal basically rules out any sort of a theory of humans having evolved from anything else on this planet. There is no plausible evolutionary antecedant for modern man on this planet.

I'm starting to think we might need to split the country up. Too much of a difference in worldviews, and too many ways elections are being won by razor thin margins, and on form rather than substance, and too many ways for a guy like George Soros to game the system. I don't really want to live in a country being run by those losers and they clearly feel the same way about us. It's very far from obvious that the US any longer is a viable country.

Nothing good can come of handing the country over to demokkkrats, even for five minutes. They can do a hell of a lot of damage in two years.

In theory I check out as being most of the way to being a libertarian, and I'll happily start voting for libertarian candidates the day after we have runoff elections in America and I am guaranteed that I'm not electing demokkkrats by voting for libertarians. As for now, I am voting against demokkkrats, i.e. for whoever has the statistically best shot at preventing a demokkkrat from holding the public office in question. Usually that's a republican.

    >Could our big brains come from Neanderthals?

The answer is no. Apes, monkeys, and hominids are one family of creatures, we are another; we are not related to them at all other possibly than for similarity of design. The neanderthal has been ruled out as a plausible ancestor for modern man and his DNA described as "about halfway between ours and that of a chimpanzee" and all other hominids are further removed from us THAN the neanderthal. There is thus no plausible ancestor for modern man amongst the hominids. To be descended from something, at some point, you have to be able to interbreed with the something and we could no more interbreed with neanderthals, much less any other hominid, than we could with goats or horses.

Something in the basic approach has to change. The Bush idea of trying to treat dems like the other branch of the family while they clearly treat us as the enemy is obviously not any sort of a formula for success.

    The Three Billygoats Gruff

Many years ago, in the Khwarism kingdom, the empire centered around the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Gurgange in the territory now called Uzbekistan, there was a bridge across a narrow section of the Syr Daria river and this bridge was guarded by a troll, named Ali Mohammed Qa-eelbasi. This was before the padishah Mohammed of the Khwarism empire burned the beards off of four of the infidel dog Chengis Khan's ambassadors and Chengis Khan reduced that entire territory to a smoking ruin (may he who cannot take a joke endure Allah's curse).

Now, this Ali Mohammed Qa-eelbasi was quite wealthy by inheritance and by dint of clever investment strategies and stock trading and, having no need of money or wealth beyond his possessions, and being an islamic troll, rather than demanding money from travellers seeking to cross his bridge, was in the habit of demanding various other favors from them.

One morning while Ali Mohammed was guarding his bridge and attempting to catch fish in the Syr Daria, he heard the light clatter of little hooves on the wooden planks of his bridge and looked up to see a little billygoat traipsing across the bridge, trippity, clippity, clippity, trippity, and this little goat (Allah be praised!!) had glossy white fur and flowers in his mane, and was wearing a silk petticoat with what appeared to be lace panties underneath, Ali Mohammed could not be quite certain, and a little training bra from Bloomingdales', and had a coy smile upon his face.

"ALLAH BE PRAISED"!! shouted Ali Mohammed! Surely the faithful shall prosper, this must be my lucky day!!!!

And, the little goat looked at Ali Mohammed, the coy smile still on his lips, and said:

"Verily, I should be happy for you to have your way with me and ravish me to your heart's content but, were you to do that, you would then be too exhausted to appreciate my brother when he passes this way. He is only a short distance behind me and he is a larger, finer and more lovely goat than I; he buys ALL of his clothing from Victoria's Secret."

Now, when Ali Mohammed heard this, he was overcome with passion and desire, and could scarcely restrain himself; nonetheless, he replied: "Go then, with Allah's blessing", and allowed the little goat to cross the bridge unmolested. "I shall (eagerly) await your brother!"

Ali Mohammed went back to his efforts to catch fish and, about a half hour later, he heard a somewhat heavier fall of hooves across the wooden planks of his bridge: clippity cloppity clop, clippity cloppity clop, and Ali Mohammed looked up to a sight which aroused within him a veritable paroxism of passion. This was a larger goat with a gossamer veil over his face, red roses braided into his glossy white silky fur all around, a golden necklace and the thinnest sort of a purple gossamer bodice of finest khitan silk, and dark, brown bedroom eyes.

"ALLAH BE PRAISED!!!" shouted Ali Mohammed, "Verily, this must be the luckiest day of my life, for surely no troll has ever beheld so lovely, and desirable, and alluring a goat as thee!"

"Patience!" replied the goat. "Surely you might have me if you wish, but then you would be too exhausted to appreciate my eldest brother, who travels only a short distance behind me. He is the sexiest and most voluptuous and alluring goat in all the world, and he buys ALL of his clothing at Sexy Sadies Midnight Boutique. Verily, were he standing here beside me, you would not notice me at all!"

Ali Mohammed somehow or other managed to restrain his lust and passion and allowed this goat to pass as well and, after ten or twelve minutes when he collected his wits and got his pulse and breath back under control, returned to his fishing poles.

Now when the eldest brother amongst the three goats came up to the bridge over the Syr Daria river and walked upon its wooden planks, Ali Mohammed did not notice at first, because this goat's hooves, for some reason, made no noise. Ali Mohammed was in fact taken by complete surprise as this third goat walked up to within five feet before the troll ever saw him at all. This goat had a silken veil as did the second goat, and gossamer clothing but, underneath the gossamer, appeared to be a very strange goat indeed, yellowish with black stripes, a long tail, fearsome claws, and huge, very non-goatlike teeth. This third goat spoke these words:

Bless, O Lord, this food to my use and me to thy service, and make me ever mindful of the needs of others through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

and, with that, seized the unlucky troll in his mighty jaws, chewed him into bitesized pieces, and wolfed him down.
