Over the past three-and-a-half years, I’ve worked to help promote the cause of disabled children in Iraq and their need for suitable pediatric wheelchairs. Throughout this time, various people have stepped in to help raise funds to sponsor 600 children’s ROC wheelchairs and 240 adult Whirlwind Roughrider wheelchairs, the latest of which were distributed in March and April 2009. Chaplain LTC Carl Fisher (great name for a Chaplain!) connected me with CPT Scot Tebo, the Brigade Surgeon for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 4th Infantry Division to distribute 200 of the Roughriders in Baghdad’s Sadr City area. Upon...

Wheelchairs For Iraqi Kids.comJoin the WFIK Facebook Cause! Hi Everyone! On Sunday, I rode out into Baghdad with an Aegis security team to distribute more pediatric wheelchairs to disabled Iraqi children once again. These fifty wheelchairs were generously sponsored by the Aegis Hearts & Minds non-profit through my strategic partner Reach Out and Care Wheels, which provides a high quality non-profit pediatric wheelchair designed just for this environment. This event has been in the planning / coordinating stages for a long time – since Summer 2008. Most of my distributions in the past have been organized and directed by military...

By the time you read this, the President of the United States will have announced that he will nominate me to be the next Secretary of Defense. I am deeply honored, but also deeply saddened. As most of you know, almost two years ago I declined an opportunity to become the first Director of National Intelligence. I did so principally because of my love for Texas A&M and because much of the program we had initiated to take A&M to a new level of excellence had only just started. Today, two years later, all of the initiatives of greatest importance...

When I first saw the video clip on YouTube this morning, of Kerry making the now infamous statement about getting stuck in Iraq, I immediately knew he meant it as a direct jab at President Bush. Basically saying "if you are an idiot and don't get educated, you will end up like our President Bush and do something stupid like getting stuck in Iraq, which was a mistake and we are losing." Even though I knew it wasn't aimed at the troops, it still ticked me off, since I support Bush, as far as Iraq is concerned. However, I found...

I play a popular online game called Counter Strike and one of my favorite maps (levels) in the game is called awp_map. In this level, you are in a large room, with sniper rifles, and you must shoot your opponents. One of the quirks of this map is that you spawn (start out) directly across the room from your opponent, sometimes with a direct view of them. This gives an unfair advantage to the players that won the last round, as they spawn with their weapons, and those that died last round must run to pick up a gun off...

WASHINGTON — U.S. relations with the United Arab Emirates could face another challenge amid a suit that charged the Gulf state's vice president with enslaving tens of thousands of children. UAE Vice President Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been accused of enslaving about 30,000 children, some of them as young as two, since 1975. The suit filed in U.S. district court in Miami charged that Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai, and his brother, Hamdan, ordered the stealing of the children to raise them as camel jockeys, Middle East Newsline reported. "Boys as young as two years old have...

"All those Jews who came here [to Israel] from all over the world must return to the places from where they came. The Jews from Germany should return to Germany." — Ikrima Sabri, a former Palestinian Authority mufti, Die Welt, January 2001 Jews should leave Israel and "return" to "where they come from." This is one of the aims of Hezbollah and Iran's war against Israel. The strategy to destroy the Jewish state is based on a plan in which Hezbollah, with weapons provided by Iran via Syria, will terrorize Israelis in hopes that it will flee. Both Iran and...

Scientists find that moms consistently rank the stink of their baby's "number two" as No. 1. In a new study, 13 mothers were asked to sniff soiled diapers belonging to both their own child and others from an unrelated baby. The women consistently ranked the smell of their own child's feces as less revolting than that of other babies. This effect persisted even when the diapers were purposely mislabeled. One possible explanation is that the mothers were simply more accustomed to their their baby's stink and therefore found it less repulsive. A more intriguing possibility, the researchers say, is that...

This is for all of you Islamic Criminal Terrorists. I'm right here...right friggin here. You can plant all of your IED's, drive your VBIED's and become suicide bombers. You can try to kill me and my friends or try to chase me away. It's not going to happen. Every time I scrape up parts of your body mixed with part of your brake cylinder I smirk at your pig loving bits of your face. Every time I see you being driven to a holding facility, I promptly wave to you with my left middle finger raised in the air. Your...
