  • Lo & Behold: A Replica Of The Successful 2015 Obamacare Repeal Is Languishing In Committee

    RedState ^ | March 26, 2017 | Andrea Ruth
In 2015, Congress passed Obamacare repeal. Now, a replica bill has sat unaddressed in committee since March 8th and there’s a path to getting it to a floor vote quickly. The Trump spin mill has been in overdrive since House Speaker Paul Ryan pulled the abysmal first attempt of the new administration and Congress at the promised “repeal and replacement” of Obamacare. The Trump administration and the media sold the American Health Care Act as the last best hope for repealing Obamacare, which is a complete joke. The idea that Republicans in the House and Senate, who have largely run...

Folks, I am going to contact all of the members of the Freedom Caucus (Ken Buck is from my state) and personally THANK them for stopping the bill to tinker with Obamacare. I will also strongly encourage them to dust off one of the Obamacare repeal bills that was sent to President Obama and remind the other Republican members of the House of their prior voting record. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Caucus#Membership
  • Colorado Doctor Finds Way To Treat Common Vertigo

    02/24/2017 3:14:40 PM PST · by taxcontrol · 35 replies
    CBS Denver channel 4 ^ | April 23, 2012 | Dr Carol Foster
More than seven million people in the U.S. suffer from vertigo with 50,000 in the Denver area alone. The symptoms include feeling surroundings spinning when nothing is moving. Now there’s a new do-it-yourself way to treat the most common form of vertigo. CBS4 Health Specialist Kathy Walsh met the doctor who discovered the maneuver. Dr. Carol Foster is at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Foster’s recently published research is a breakthrough in the treatment of vertigo and could be life-changing for people who are disabled at times by extreme dizzy spells. “You’re rolling over in bed and suddenly...

Question for discussion as a thought exercise. Kasich was already eleminated from the 1,237 delegates needed for a first round nomination. Most voters already knew this. So why did 25% of NY vote for him?

Brew your own ^ | September 2007 | Dan Mouer
Back in the day - we're talking WAY back in the day - beer was brewed with malt, and bread, and honey and wine . . . and just about anything that could be fermented. How the ancients brewed - and how you can too! Archaeology and beer seem to go together, and it’s not just because a cold brew helps wash the dust from your teeth after a long day on the digs. I’m an archaeologist by profession and a homebrewer by avocation. Lots of archaeologists brew their own, and those who don’t often have a passion for more...

My son is 16 and is a fairly good musician. He started with clarinet, then moved to Sax and is really good at sax. From that experience, he is very good at reading music and music theory. For the past couple of years he has also been investing in the guitar and is now at the point that he is not benefiting from his high school program. We have been sending him to private tutors and he is now studying Satriani, Yes, Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen's arpeggios from hell, and to my untrained ear doing very well. The boy gets...
  • How important are the winner take all states?

[Full disclosure - Cruz supporter] Back before Iowa, I predicted that Trump would win the nomination on the first round by having about 1,300 delegates. I arrived at that prediction by applying RCP poll averages against each state. Proportional states were split by the poll date, winner take all were given to the poll leader (Trump) and the hybred states were first allocated proportionally with the bottom tier of candidates that would not meet the threshold delegates being assigned to the poll leader (again Trump). I thought that now, after super Tuesday and Saturday, would be a good time to...

Hello folks. Taxcontrol here and I am taking over the Brewer/Vintner ping list from Red_Devil 232. The list is for all that work with yeast to produce alcohol. So Beer, Wine, Mead, Spirits, even fuel producers are all welcome. So some questions: - I am going to assume that you want to be on the list unless you tell me otherwise - How often is an approprite regularly scheduled ping to the list (any time a relevant article is posted, weekly, bi weekly, monthly)? - How often should we cover recipes and when? Friday perhaps? - any other thoughts or...

20 years ago, my wife gave away my carboy and put dog food in my ABS plastic bucket that I did my first ferments in. I have constantly reminded her of that violation. This Christmas, she bought two brew kits for me. So of course, I had to try it out right away. I did a kit for a Honey Brown Ale - Similar to Newcastle. Yesterday, I cracked open a bottle with friends.

Urgent prayer request for my grand niece Rebecca. She is 19 months old and has been having trouble with her stomach. The vomiting became so bad yesterday that her parents took her to see the doctor. The preliminary diagnosis is that there is nothing wrong with her stomach but they now suspect neurological problems. MRI and CAT scan are being scheduled ASAP.

So I was assaulted downtown Denver Sunday night. I ended up in the ER but was released later that night. I am fine, dealing with a concussion and some needed orthodontic work, but other than some soreness I'm ok. The good news is the police caught the guy and he is now facing felony assault charges. He hit me from behind with a bottle knocking me out and I hit my head on the curb (6 stitches). The bad news is the swelling from my forehead has now shifted down to my eyes. The are puffy and appear bruised (black...

I recently ran across a web site that sells a frame to bend fence top rail into 20 and 25 foot arches for a high tunnel green house. This got me to thinking about the possibility for using to build a thin shell dome and/or Quonset hut house. I have also run into some articles about how the Japanese have done some research on concrete filled tubes. So put these to together ..... My thought was to build 50' quarter of a circle segments, position them in place to make a high tunnel structure and pump the tubes full of...
  • Colorado Supreme Court nixes Douglas county vouchers (vanity)

I just read from 9News.com that the Colorado Supreme Court has just ruled against the voucher program in Douglas County School district. While I am disapointed in this ruling, it is technically correct. The Colorado Constitution states in Article IX, section 7: Aid to private schools, churches, sectarian purpose, forbidden. Neither the general assembly, nor any county, city, town, township, school district or other public corporation, shall ever make any appropriation, or pay from any public fund or moneys whatever, anything in aid of any church or sectarian society, or for any sectarian purpose, or to help support or sustain...

Last month my brother-in-law passed unexpectedly from a massive heart attack. He appeared to be in good shape, he worked out and even had is annual physical a week prior to his passing. He had just purchased a house that he was going to remodel and had a really good job. He was 46 years old. Far too young to be leaving us by our standards. He was loved. The good news is that I know he was a Christian. Perhaps not the ideal but he was a baptized believer in Christ. I know in my heart that he is...

  • SB 122 Smokeless Powder and Primer Manufacture in Montana

    01/26/2015 6:49:22 AM PST · by taxcontrol · 6 replies
There is a serious threat to our right to bear arms because of narrow, monolithic and federally-controlled manufacture of essential ammunition components, smokeless powder (propellant), primers and cartridge brass. For example, there are only two manufacturers of smokeless powder in the U.S., one plant owned by defense contractor General Dynamics and another owned by defense contractor Alliant Systems (ATK). All other smokeless powder used in the U.S. is imported, and subject to immediate and arbitrary import restrictions. And, General Dynamics and Alliant Systems are subject to a standard condition of military contracts that 100% of their production may be commandeered...
  • Europe's leading Rabbi: Jews must begin carrying guns

    The Washington Free Beacon ^ | Jan 15, 20015 | Adam Kredo
One of Europe’s most prominent Jewish organizations is petitioning the European Union to pass new legislation that would permit Jewish community members to carry guns “for the essential protection of their communities,” according to a letter obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The European Jewish Association (EJA), which represents Jewish communities across Europe, says that gun license laws must be altered following a string of deadly attacks on Jews in France and other European countries, where anti-Semitism has been growing at an alarming rate. The recent attacks, including one on a Kosher market that killed four, “have revealed the urgent...
