The ground war has begun. Several Israeli brigades now appear to be operating between the Lebanese border and the Litani River. Hezbollah forces are dispersed in multiple bunker complexes and are launching rockets from these and other locations. Hezbollah's strategy appears to be threefold. First, force Israel into costly attacks against prepared fortifications. Second, draw Israeli troops as deeply into Lebanon as possible, forcing them to fight on extended supply lines. Third, move into an Iraqi-style insurgency from which Israel -- out of fear of a resumption of rocket attacks -- cannot withdraw, but which the Israelis also cannot endure...

My cousin who lives in Britain is incensed that the U.S. could reelect W as president. She wants to know why I back him and what I like about him. However, she also tries to make the point that the U.S. is the most poluting country in the world and argues that there is nothing done here to help the environment. There is a extrodinary article today in the German Stern Magazine that after reading it everyone will understand why the German populace believes Kerry is the better man for the white house. It is so far out in the potrayal of Bush that it isn't even funny anymore. If SOMEONE could translate some or all of it that would be awesome. Aug 24 (Interfax) - A senior police source said the bomb explosion at a bus stop in Moscow on Tuesday evening may have been a terrorist attack. "The power of the explosive device was equivalent to more than 150 grams of trotyl [TNT]. All, On Sunday there was a German popular Talk Show on German TV called Sabine Christiansen. I receive this broadcast here in the U.S. via a german tv station (www.germantv.info).
