Free Republic

I set In Flanders Fields to music, and created a song. My band and I recorded it a while back. We played it at a Memorial Day celebration in Black Canyon City, AZ to honor those who have served and never came home. Freedom is never free. Someone always pays the cost.

I post occasionally, but mostly lurk, enjoying the variety of articles and comments Free Republic offers. Below is a link to a song my band and I recorded. It is the way we have honored our Lord this season. With music. Merry Christmas and may be have a happy, free New Year.

Hi. I've been a lurker for many, many years. Free Republic is often my source of news, insight, comfort, and laughs. I'm a singer/songwriter and I set the poem, In Flanders Fields, to music. I made a video of the song, along with my friend John "Whiteboy" Walden, on harmonica. There are many versions of this poem on youtube. What I did differently was make the poem into a song that others could sing, too. I knew those on Free Republic would appreciate the effort.
