Okay folks, without further ado, I'm starting an After Report for the 3/15 San Francisco FReep! It wasn't a huge crowd today, on either side of the political fence. But as usual, we made our presence known. We had about 15 people, coming and going throughout the day, and the appeaseniks had about 5000 people. Of course, wait for the news reports, saying that 200,000 people showed up! Thanks to the following FReepers, friends, and random people for showing up: AmericanPreservative nastypumps Rogue Yam CounterCounterCulture Stratman1969 PulpitofTruth (new FReeper, met at the last rally) SeenTheLights Mom (thanks for filming Mom!)...

The women in Washington D.C. and San Francisco who protested the impending war with Iraq, in honor of International Women’s Day, are a disgrace to all women. They claim to be progressive, when in fact, they are regressive, marching backwards against the tide of history. The silly names of their organizations, “Code Pink” and “Women in Black,” are a case in point. For some unknown reason, the “Code Pink” ladies decided that pink is a symbol of oppression, so they dressed up like walking Pepto-Bismol bottles. Their ridiculous chanting of “Bush says Code Red; we say Code Pink” did little...

The Chronicle covered a story on Wednesday that should be a wake-up call for San Francisco. A woman who was nine-months pregnant, was viciously attacked by a deranged, homeless man who hit her over the head with a can of paint and severed her ear. All this happened while she was painting her house, in the normally placid Bernal Heights neighborhood. But it no longer matters if you live in a nice neighborhood or not, because the specter of homelessness now reaches into all corners of San Francisco. Among the ranks of the homeless are those who suffer serious mental...

In the aftermath of the attacks of 9/11, the left paid a lot of lip service to the "root causes" of terrorism. They chastised President Bush for going to war against the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, rather than trying to "understand" what motivated the 9/11 terrorists. If terrorist training camps all over a country do not constitute a root cause for terrorism, then what does? Now that a war with Iraq is being debated, the root cause argument has suddenly faded into the background. Perhaps that’s because Saddam Hussein is one of the root causes of terrorism and by...

You probably won’t hear much about this in the media, with the notable exception of C-SPAN, but ''Rallies for America'' took place all across the country this past weekend. Washington D.C., Colorado, Texas, and Wyoming were just a few of the states that hosted these rallies. More are planned for the weeks ahead, including rallies in Sacramento and San Francisco. Keep checking back at www.patriotwatch.com for the dates and locations, if you want to participate in a local rally. The effort has been organized by Talk Radio personalities, the various chapters of www.freerepublic.com, and other grassroots conservative political...

For once, I have to thank the Chronicle. They did their readers a favor by pointing out the disgusting cover of a new album,''Sonic Jihad,''by a rapper named "Paris." In case you missed it, the cover depicts a commercial jetliner heading straight for the White House. By exposing this kind of trash, the Chron has shown that there is no depth to which the ''America-Hating Left'' will not descend.

Did anyone else watch Profiles From the Front Line tonight? It was on ABC at 8pm and I believe it was the first episode? I'm not a huge fan of "Reality TV," but I think I've finally been converted! It follows our soldiers in Central Asia and the Middle East, with various locales, situations, and profiles. It seemed to be taking place soon after the war in Afghanistan tapered off. One thing I came away from the program with, was a renewed appreciation for our fine, fighting forces! Also, every soldier they interviewed said that they were there because of...

I’ve asked myself on many occasions: “When there are so many other countries in the world that do injustice both to their own people and to others, why does the Left focus so exclusively on Israel?” What about China’s occupation of Tibet or Syria’s occupation of Lebanon? What about the repression and tyranny of the Arab nations surrounding democratic Israel, including the Palestinians who, let’s not forget, practice honor killings, lynch “collaborators,” suppress the media, and whose leaders funnel funds meant for the people to terrorists? The real reason the left hates Israel is two-fold. First of all, they have...

As usual, the Chronicle’s coverage of the "Huge Peaceful Crowd" that turned out to protest America’s impending war with Iraq (as well as pretty much everything else) left out a few salient details. One of them was any mention of the counter-protest which took place on the same day, and in the same location. I know, because I was one of the people who helped organize this counter-protest, along with fellow members of www.freerepublic.com, a conservative news forum and online community.

It's been quite a day for Bay Area FReepers and friends! There's a lot to cover, but I'm gonna keep it brief and just get the ball rolling for comments and input. The big news is that we had our largest counter-protest yet! We did a head-count at the peak of the protest and we ended up counting close to 60 people! Keep in mind, two rallies ago we had about 7 people and last time, we had 15. So we've come a long way! It looks like all the extra media outreach we did really paid off. Most of...

Secretary of State Colin Powell, in an interview on Fox News Sunday (2/9), said something that confirmed an observation of my own. Secretary Powell pointed out, with evident bemusement, the frustration of being criticized simultaneously for being unilateral in the case of Iraq, and multilateral in the case of North Korea. Of course, the charges of unilateralism against the U.S. for trying to force Iraq to live up to UN Resolution 1441, have by now been exposed as bogus. The fact that 18 countries are currently allied with America disputes that theory. But this hasn’t stopped the opponents of the...

Your patriotic duty...., Because the Taliban cannot stand nudity and consider it a sin to see a naked woman who is not his wife, next Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. EST, all American women are asked to walk out of their houses completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists. Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort. All men should position themselves in lawn chairs in front of their homes to prove that they think it's OK to see other women nude. (Since the enemy does not approve of alcohol, a cold six-pack at...

The Columbia Space Shuttle crash was the kind of disaster that the whole world should mourn. Unfortunately, not all nations shared in our sadness over this event, and even in America, some are distorting the facts to fuel their paranoid delusions. Across the Arab and Muslim world, the news of the Columbia crash was met with official condolences in some quarters and celebration in others. Iraqi officials released statements in which they attributed the disaster to God’s wrath and proclaimed their happiness. The Palestinians officially expressed condolences, no doubt learning their lesson after the infamous footage of jubilation in the...

Macabre fashion statement US Marines on exercise in Kuwait have been seen wearing some unusual accessories - skull masks. US soldiers have been wearing a range of designer ski masks to protect their eyes from the desert sand. The Grim Reaper skull mask was spotted alongside more trendy designs from the likes of Scott and Oakley. Face masks are sometimes supplied as part of a soldier's kit, but many prefer to buy their own. Civilian clothing, purchased privately, is often better made and more comfortable. Soldiers in the British Army and Royal Marines also like to supplement their issued kit...

CNN is at it again CNN will continue to do this until they get the answer they want. Don't let that happen. CNN is currently taking another poll regarding whether or not International monitors should be sent into Israel. Please respond and vote NO. Go to the link below, then look for the poll on the lower right hand of their site. It is listed under POLL and not very big. As you probably know, international monitors will favor the Palestinians, and the Israeli Government doesn't believe there would be impartiality in such a monitoring team. The White House yesterday confirmed that it had cancelled a poetry symposium after a number of American poets threatened to turn the event into an anti-war protest. The February 12 symposium on Poetry and the American Voice, which was meant to focus on the works of Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman, was one of a number of literary gatherings organised by the first lady, Laura Bush. When Washington-based poet Sam Hamill received an invitation to the event, he said he was "overcome by a kind of nausea" and refused to attend. Then he decided to email fellow poets,...

The Chronicle reported on an Anarchist group known as the black bloc, whose members rampaged and vandalized their way through San Francisco’s Financial District after the 1/18 anti-war rally, but they didn’t tell the whole story. Bill Hackwell, the spokesman for International Answer, the group that organized the rally, claims that they ''hadn’t known about the break-away marchers in advance and had no connection to them.'' That’s puzzling, because the black bloc had advertised its intentions prior to the rally, on the well-known web site and leftist organizing tool, www.sfindymedia.org. While the pre-rally information is now gone from the site,...
