If you look into the origins of the Mafia, you wouldn't be surprised if we see it rise again, given what is being allowed to happen. Not good. Because there is a price to be paid.
"Some day, and that day may never come, I may call upon you to do a service for me".
I thought the Supreme Court indicated that government shall issue a license unless there was a known reason not to. I think the government digging around until they can turn up a reason to deny seems to go against this. But perhaps I misunderstood.
Hochul has been giving SCOTUS the middle finger since their ruling.
It is quite common for school systems to have their own police force, at least here in GA. Whether that is a good idea is another question. In some cases it seems that it has led to a system that covers up criminal acts done on school property.
It probably also leads to complacency on the part of the cops. For the most part, nothing happens there, and when it does, their reflexes have been dulled by too much standing around time.
The 1930 film was banned in Germany by the Nazis when they came to power. Ironic that Germany has now done a remake. I actually prefer the TV version that was done in 1979 (the uncut version). This new one will probably have Saving Private Ryan level gore.
Is it because I’m a mere male that I am unable to make any sense of this statement?
I don't get it either. It seems to be saying that trannies are really men and that women are not afraid of them because of the patriarchy or...something?
The original GOT crashed hard. I won’t waste my time on a repeat of that. I’ll wait for the whole series to finish. If, at the end, people walk away saying, “Best TV series ever! What a strong finish!!” then I’ll start watching.
I doubt values has anything to do with HBO’s motives
Not values but profitability. If wokeness sold, they'd probably stick with it. The new management at HBO/Discovery/Warner have probably figured out that being ostentatiously woke is not adding paying customers. The woke make a lot of noise (the "squeaky wheel") but they are largely full of sound and fury and don't signify dollars coming in to the company. We just saw Warner cancel the release of the überwoke Batgirl movie after disastrous test screenings.
The GOT prequel series is probably getting great ratings.
The one he did during the Women’s March (where the women were wearing the “pussy hats”) in Austin was also hilarious. He went as a “transgender female” and even interviewed Wendy “Abortion Barbie” Davis while in character.
A ridiculous paper, "Embracing Fatness as Self-Care in the Era of Trump," was accepted by Massey University's "Fat Studies" conference. The conference then invited the paper's author, "Sea Matheson," to speak. Attendees gave Matheson's speech rave reviews, praising the paper's description of Donald Trump's "fatphobia" and inviting Matheson to review other work submitted to their "scientific" journal, Fat Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Body Weight and Society. But Matheson is no scientist. "She" is actually comedian Steven Crowder, who disguised himself as an overweight woman to expose "ivory tower quackery."
Hilarious. I don't know how Stephen Crowder keeps a straight face when he punks these people.
