Forget the Oscars, SAG, Golden Globes, Tonys, Grammys, Webbys, Espys…where a majority of leftists hypocrites spill their bile and contempt for the rest of us…the real majority… Announcing, for the first time EVER, The Phony Awards ™ or The Phonies ™. Recognizing the frauds, the fakes and the phoniest among us for the prior year! Unlike the bullcrap of the backslapping, incestuous above-named awards and in keeping with the leftist ideal of “participation trophies” each of our Nominee is ALSO a declared winner and they are: Category: Politician Male John McCain + Lindsay Graham – paired together as they appear...

“ ‘The wise and dread spirit, the spirit of self-destruction and non-existence,’ the old man goes on, ‘the great spirit talked with Thee in the wilderness, and we are told in the books that he “tempted” Thee. Is that so? And could anything truer be said than what he revealed to Thee in three questions and what Thou didst reject, and what in the books is called “the temptation”? And yet if there has ever been on earth a real stupendous miracle, it took place on that day, on the day of the three temptations. The statement of those three questions...

I suppose we’ll always have Chick-fil-A celebration days as a reminder of what might have been and what can get people motivated. But we are here now, the day after the election and we have to figure out what “forward” means to the conservative movement and by extension, to the idea of limited government. It should be clear. To preserve and restore this republic as it was founded we need a constitutional convention in which the states reassert their 10th amendment rights. I believe that there are enough Republican held legislatures to make this a viable option. This reassertion of...

Now that the middle east is unraveling under the policies and watch of the most liberal President of the United States; it is time for us to confront what we are witnessing. Their policy of appeasement and make nice, outreach, if you will, does not work. In the typical manner, in the liberal/academic world, the question is being asked, why don't they like us? The answer is simple enough to those who are willing to look at the facts. We are dealing with a largely uneducated people who can be easily whipped into a frenzy on the whim of a...

First, an apology for the millionth vanity here... It has become clear to me that what Justice Roberts has done is so shameful and such an outright trampling on our constitution and theft of our liberty that he should be impeached and be removed from office. In an otherwise sane world where this document still meant something, he would be impeached and if the Republicans have any spine they'd do it. This, "cut off your nose to spite your face" wizardy (that is, trample the constitution in order to save the reputation of the court) is the last straw in...

And his producers and others for coming up with the Republican Presidential Forum; it was a great idea to have State Attorneys General ask questions (rather than obnoxious, agenda-driven, self-appointed urinalistas)...It was an excellent forum for state representatives to try to resurrect state rights under our Constitution. The answers from Candidates (to various degrees, obviously) should have provided to many an education on the limited powers of the federal government and the rights of the States. Anyway, it was a good forum; there should be a similar one at the Presidential level and perhaps instead of AGs; it could be...

Just seems a bit odd that Mr. Limbaugh has not commented (unless I missed it) on Gov. Palin's decision.

I think the title of this thread would be true if Gov Palin gets into the race. Whether or not this is the intention; it is likely to be the outcome (desired by the Romney camp, no doubt) if folks fall for it. Having said this, Rep. Bachmann has every right to seek the nomination and I will certainly vote for her in the general election. Now, the news report following the recent debate certainly gave Rep. Bachmann a lot of credit for her performance and I have been wondering if these people watched the same debate I watched. In...

Someone sent the link above to my attention and I've been trying to figure out what message this is conveying. No need to click the link, it says,"ABORshun." Aside from the ebonics, what's with this? Pro-life? Pro-choice? Who'd wear this?

GENEVA (Reuters) - British physicist Peter Higgs said on Monday it should soon be possible to prove the existence of a force which gives mass to the universe and makes life possible -- as he first argued 40 years ago. Higgs said he believes a particle named the "Higgs boson," which originates from the force, will be found when a vast particle collider at the CERN research centre on the Franco-Swiss border begins operating fully early next year."The likelihood is that the particle will show up pretty quickly ... I'm more than 90 percent certain that it will," Higgs told...

Well, here we are and it looks like it will be Mad Mac vs. Romney and if I recall correctly, Mr. Limbaugh says he endorsed GWB in 2000 when it was clear that it was a two person contest. Are we there yet and would it make a difference now? I know it's not over but if Romney could not win in Florida, a closed primary, where in the South will he win and what happens when the liberal big states such as CA and NY vote? As I've heard Mr. Limbaugh ask many times, "if conservatism or the conservative...

LONDON (AFP) - The discovery of a Turkish family that walks on all fours could aid research into the evolution of humans. Researchers believe the five brothers and sisters, who can walk naturally only on all fours, may provide new information on how humans evolved from four-legged hominids to walk upright. Nicholas Humphrey, evolutionary psychologist at the London School of Economics, told The Times the discovery opened "an extraordinary window on our past". "I do not think they were designed to be quadrupeds by their genes, but their unique genetic make-up allowed them to be," he said. "It has produced...

A Canadian radio station has been censured for broadcasting "abusive" remarks about the Sikh community. Psychiatrist Pierre Mailloux, host of the Doc Mailloux phone-in show on Montreal's CKAC-AM station, had referred to Sikhs as a "gang of bozos". The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) was responding to a listener who complained it was "racism of the first order". The station has been ordered to make a full apology. 'More compassion' In the show, which was broadcast in December 2003, Mailloux said immigrants to Canada should abandon their traditions. "You cultural communities come from a wacko country. You live a wacko...

Folks, forgive the vanity but I need to ask Florida Freepers (or former residents of) about the state of public education there. I've heard that the public schools (K-12) are no good and I'd like some feedback, if possible. I've also heard that in some places the cost of a private education approaches $20k/year/student. I'd like to know if these things are true and if there are any areas that are exceptions. I am thinking of relocating and FL is on the top of my list but I need an area with good schools. Thanks very much, in advance.

LONDON (Reuters) - A woman has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail for ripping off her ex-lover's testicle with her bare hands during a drunken brawl after he refused her sex. Amanda Monti, 24, flew into a rage in May last year after Geoffrey Jones, 37, who had ended their long-term relationship, rejected her advances. She grabbed him by the genitals, tearing off his left testicle, then hid it in her mouth before a friend of Jones handed it back to him saying "that's yours". Monti, of Birkenhead, near Liverpool, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding at...
