I find John Paul II's life inspirational and sensed great holiness when I was near him on his trip through Baltimore. I have read "The Gospel of Life" and I thought it would be a contribution to start a reading list from other Catholics here on FR. I am impressed with the Catholic Freepers and look forward to all of your comments. If you are interested please submit your TOP 5 List of JPIIs writings. Please list your top 5 with reasons why they are on your list.

Fox News just reported that US Navy SEAL Roberts, as learned from Pentagon confirmation, fell 15 feet and crawled 200 feet to a concealed position, amongst 60 Al Quaida. The chopper took rounds severing hydraulic fluids which caused the mission to be aborted and a quick evasive maneuver. Roberts, in his concealed position, as confirmed by Predator film, shows Roberts taking out an Al Quaida machine gun position firing at other helicopters. In the ensuing firefight and enemy close Roberts was killed. Developing........

There are so many Chinese that they just filter out to all parts of the globe and melt into society. I have serious reservations about the Chinese students in this country. I did a simple search for Beijing University and went to Physcis Dept., from there there was a Symposium on Advanced Physics with American PHd's participating. So I tracked the link back to several top flight American Universities with Chinese PHd's working. These Chinese are Mainland Chicoms with links to Beijing University. Indugle yourself, do some searches and look at the extent to which the Chinese pervade American society ...

Chinese Infuriated by U.S. Hegemony 2001.04.05 23:02:40 BEIJING, April 5 (Xinhuanet) -- People throughout China have been enraged by the United States which has frequently sent spy planes to violate the country's sovereignty, and crashed a Chinese jet fighter on April 1. "China is a sovereign state that never allows its territory and airspace to be intruded upon, and as a Chinese citizen, I firmly support our government's struggle against hegemony," said Li Hanlin, ...

Olympic Games should be depoliticized (03/29/2001) The international sports community has said it will slam any attempts to block Beijing's bid for its first Olympic Games, and German International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Walther Troger stated that Beijing will be treated as fairly as any other bidding city. Troger's remarks followed the submission of a resolution opposing Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, citing human rights excuses, by a US bipartisan group of 41 members of the House of Representatives. Troger said China has the right to be included into the Olympic Movement if the IOC truly wants ...
