I am agnostic on the cop thing.
Don’t particularly like ‘em. Also I don’t hate them.
For the guys who want to be a guardian & protect the public from evil, I am grateful for the service.
For the guys who were bullies in school and want to continue on in adult life ... f ‘em. Bouncer is probably a more appropriate career choice.
    I watched the video.
I can’t see where the officer’s strikes landed. Anyone marginally trained in combat will not strike the skull with bare knuckles. I think that the strikes were directed to the nape of the neck, which is full of non-lethal pressure points. (Forget about the Spock Chop. It’s BS)

Only job worse than a cop’s is prison guard. Maybe “urban” school teacher is right up there.
Almost all your work interactions are with liars, drunks, and sociopaths.
I applaud those that can do this job without becoming tainted.

I would not last a month.

Was annoyed by Bam’s head moves the last time he took over my TV.
Reminds me a bit of my soon-to-be new driver checking his mirrors in preparation for the big test.
Perhaps more annoying than Bam’s head fakes was the mouth activity of the Speaker of the House. What’s up with that? Can she keep her maw still for more than 5 seconds?

A Great Communicator? Missed what the pundits saw.

I watched the whole thing as Lent is approaching & it’s time to prepare for that. Sacrifice & whatnot.

First thing that caught my attention - Bam’s head flips to the left and right, but never straight ahead, during his opening remarks. Looked like it was motor controlled. Real people don’t do that. I reckon that no teleprompter was facing the TV camera. This was distracting.

His answers were so long, that many times I couldn’t remember what the question was. How is THAT great communication?

The huffington post had a representative that was called on - who wasted his golden opportunity with a dopey question. Nice way to make that “news source” irrelevant.

It’s nice to see that despite her advanced age, Helen Thomas hasn’t lost a step.

No code pink f-tards hauled out. Bummer.

Overall, it was a waste of a good hour of my life.

    Good idea.
Once I internalize my distaste for a product, I avoid it like rotten chicken.
Ben and Jerry’s - will never touch my lips even when free.
Vermont Teddy Bears. I don’t care if they advertise on my local talk radio station that carries a full line up of conservatives. f’em.
    Maine. This is easy.
LL Bean stuff is for Subaru driving folks. No problema.
Over priced Maple Syrup? I will buy the darker Canadian stuff. Not sure if I still am angry with the hose heads...

    Shepard Fairey?
    Gosh.
    I have a dumb name.
    But Shepard Fairey?

Take a photo of your dopey president and use Photoshop to posterize it into something that would be be seen in Albania - 1965.

This image was in the local lefty rag this morning. At breakfast, I made sure to spill some good sausage gravy on it. Followed by my coffee cup. Then back in the rack for others to enjoy.
Yes, I am immature. Kind of fun being on the other side for a bit.
I reckon if I recycle the Chimpy McHitler stuff from the last 8 years I will get a trip to re-education camp.

As a dad of a rascally 16 year old young man, I used this news story as a father & son moment. One that my dad wouldn’t have ever approached.
My son brought the subject up to me, as it was the buzz in school that day. “Did you hear about the guy in New Berlin who...”

Yes, I did. It was the buzz at work too.

“I am hoping that if you may a mistake and send a picture of your stuff to a “hot girl” that turns out to be a dude, that you will select option A, and deal with it.
    Option B, giving the pervert...(vulgarity) ... is non-operational.”

RazorBerg the younger, agreed that option A was the only solution.

One of my co-workers has speculated that the perv had selected victims predisposed to selecting option B.
    Interesting theory.

  • United Way Announces 2009 'Agenda for Change'

I work for a major (Trillion $ - that should be a small list) company that many people have head of.
My employer is a huge supporter of the United Way in a northern mid-western blue state

We spend two weeks a year pummeled with U-Way blather. Special lunches, events, raffles - you name it we’ve done it.

The pressure on management folks to contribute is pretty intense. We are given a “suggested giving” figure that we are challenged to meet. In my case, it’s about $75 per pay period— $150 a month directed to lefty organizations that I have no affinity for.

I found out that there are three lists:
    (1) Those who donate the suggested amount on “autopilot”
    (2) Those who give something
    (3) Those that give nothing

Not being an idiot, I decided that I wanted to be in group 2.

Started out by donating $1 a month.
Every year I’ve increased my donation by the same percentage as my increase. i.e. year two my donation was $1.04 a month.

Full credit for contributing & always on the increase :)

Wile giving the united way the finger, the razorberg family tithes at church & are happy to donate to worthy charities such as the Salvation Army and the NRA.

  • State Farm pulling out of Florida

    RazorBerg to Fawn

The Razorberg family has had all our insurance ( except life) thru State Farm for 25+ years. State Farm was my parent’s insurance company. As a young man I really didn’t understand the differences between the various companies so I went with what my dad had.
Last year I decided to see if I could do better.
Long story much shorter - I switched to American Family and saved a couple hundred a year on our home owner’s and auto.
This is not a recommendation of Am Fam, nor is it a slam on State Farm.
The bottom line— every few years, see if you can do better. Stick with the AAA rated companies.

(I will not consider Progressive because of their politics.)

In these tough times, highly rated mutual companies are the way to go - especially with life insurance. Doing your homework online is pretty easy. Search on “insurance company ratings”

“Don’t buy him anything” is the best advice I’ve seen so far.

    Instead:
Buy *yourself* something nice, like a family size bottle of Maker’s Mark. Add ice and some good water. Repeat until you no longer want to suck up to the boss.

    The OCB.

    Lousy food. Great people watching.
My elderly parents like the OCB. I’ll take them there so that they can have an enjoyable meal while I watch the large folks gorge themselves. I can understand 3 trips to the buffet. But 7?

    Poor Fat Teddy.

I am waiting for the AP story stating that this sad sack of * was simply overcome by emotion.

Here I am on a bad news day, hoping to read that “Ted” has drowned in his own Scotch flavored vomitus. Not quite the hero’s death expected of a Kennedy.

As a Christian, I feel conflicted with these sentiments, as I understand that vengeance is a pleasure reserved for the Lord.

OK then. I hope Ted gets better.
