The first order effects of an Obama/Biden win are dangerous: loss of Executive/Congressional checks and balances, JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS (!), one-party rule, expansion of “entitlements,” punishing taxes (how can one oppose continuing Pres Bush's tax cuts, increase spending, and “give tax cuts to ‘95%’?) and an “internationalist” view of foreigh policy!?

We are already starting to second and third level effects of a possible Obama presidency, and they are chilling!

First, this cult of personality around Obama is reminiscent of others who became tyrants.

Second, Obama is a collectivist - spreading the wealth around. Collectivists care about the common good - as they see it - and care less for the individual. Collectivists also tend to be elitists - THEIR view is only valid one, and it's end justifies any means.

Third, opponents of Obama are being attacked and smeared for simply questioning the veracity of what Obama says. Cases in point: the smear against “Joe the Plumber,” the Palin family (including previously off-limits children), and labeling any opponent as “racist.” When do the Obama Youth start reporting variance in accepted thought?

Fourth: Media opponents to Obama are already being punished (KDKA in Pittsburgh - see WND)in the name of “fairness.” Watch your First Amendment rights slashed when the “Fairness Doctrine” is re-instituted. Who will be the independent watchdog of the People - the MSM - I DON’t THINK SO. The MSM is so biased for Obama that it has ceased to be amusing - it's frightening that the MSM isn't even concerned anymore to hide its bias.

Finally, I'm frightened of the extent that voter fraud, opponent intimidation, and outright lies have been overlooked - where is the outrage? Where is the indignation of wrongs that used to make us Americans mad?

Get the word out. Flood blogs, specially those of the MSM. Remember that a vote not cast for McCain/Palin is a vote for Obama and all he stands for.

First, Chief Jim Riches has no business using his rank and osition in any political campaign.

Secind, the campaign is probably underwritten by the Firemen’s union. Unions in NYC are all Democrat led and controlled. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

Third, I was in NYC on 9-11, and let me tell you - Rudy’s leadership kept the City from retreating into absolute chaos. His leadership was real. Period. If you wern;t there, you cannot appreciate what he did.

Right now, he’s the only candidate who has a chance to beat Her Thighness (Thanks, Mark Levin).

Bill O’Reilly is on this issue already. Of course, when Mark Cuban was asked about the movie, he resorted to an ad hominum attack on Bill O’Reilly instead of addressing the issue - typical of the Left.

Personally, I’m going to email the NBA commissioner with a complaint about Cuban’s anti-Americanism. Next, I will also find out all his business interests and post so all can know. This may take a couple of days because I work at Fort Hood supporting real Americans.

Notice how even the MSM has finally begun to acknowledge that the Surge has worked!? So, why has every Democrat in Congress declared the war lost? (I don’t consider Joe Lieberman a Democrat any more). I know the Dems consider Soldiers (always capitalized!) as stupid, but they do watch the news and do make note of which leaders are REALLY “for the troops.”

The only reason so many Americans think that the war is a hopeless quagmire, that the economy is in the toilet, and that President Bush is to blame for everything from an imaginary deficit to a failed foreign policy to dandruf is BECAUSE THE MSM HAS TOLD THEM SO. The MSM works off the Big Lie Princple; tell a big enough lie often enough, and the “masses” will believe anything. Reporters forget they don’t actually do anything but report what productive people do.

It time for Americans to realize that while the US Military is at war, the America isn’t. Until the average American starts to give a damn, and contribute to the effort in some way, this war on terrorism doesn’t have an assured victory.

  • PLAYING POLITICS WITH GENOCIDE--Dems " devious attempt to impede our war effort in Iraq"

Ralph Peters has hit the nail right on the head! For once I agree with him 100%

I was stationed in Turkey for a year, supporting Incirlik (prounounced in-jur-lik...so much for the know-it-all talking heads). Our war effort would be crippled without overflight rights and use of Incirlik. Of course, that’s what Lantos, Pelosi, Murtha, et al, want. They want to stack the deck so we can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq. And all so they can win in ‘08!

Turkey is a strategic ally and a long-term friend. What happened to the Armenians at the hands of the OTTOMANS over 100 years ago was tragic. It should be condemned, but not now, and not this way.

Write your Representatives! Tell them, especially if they’re Dems, that their transparent ploy is sabotage...plain and simple!

    Good Job, Ralph

I spent a year stationed in Turkey, and there are few allies as pro-American as the Turks.
The murder of the Armenians was a horror, but it was performed by the Ottoman Empire, NOT the Turkish Republic.

The resolution now before the House is timed to sabotage the war effort. Murtha boasted that he would use whatever means at his disposal to make it impossible to prosecute the GWOT front in Iraq. Not one Dem wants victory. They relish in the death and wounding of brave American warriors for their own political agenda. The Dems have implied time and again that Iraqi (Arab) lives are not worth the same as American lives. They are freaking racists and traitors.

    Go ahead schmucks, sue me!

These Dems speak of the Common Man until it comes time for their precious darlings to serve.

Remember this, oh ye patriots! A protest vote not cast or cast some ideologue who cannot win IS A VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRATS - the party of sedition, and defeatism.

  • Reynolds: 'Military Paper' Calling For Rummy Resignation Is Gannett Operation

What upsets me the most is the blatant attempt by Gannett, the day before the mid-term elections, to use the Military Times family of newspapers to influence the election for the Democrats. The Times family is being represented as a group of military papers. This is not true.

Gannett, publisher of USA Today, is so Democrat oriented, that a donkey should appear on its papers' mastheads.

Also disturbing is the timing of the news of the editorial just before the weekend news cycle - an obvious attempt to spike counter-editorial opinion.

The Army Times had sunk to the position of a partisan rag, and I shall never buy another copy. I shall encourage all to cancel their subscriptions.

    They should be ashamed.

I used to be represented by Foley when I was a Florida resident...even voted for him.

I'm shocked and horrified that this criminal was a US Representative. He should be prosecuted.

Saying that, he did the right thing in resigning immediately. Republicans do that - Democrats hang on (remember "Cool Money" William Jefferson?)

Also brings up some interesting questions. First, when did ABC get the transcripts - before or after the primaries? Why is it when a Demo gets caught, it's turned into a dependency or civil rights issue, but when a Repblican does wrong...REMEMBER MONICA.

    Montani Semper Liberi!

Sorry about the late posting. I cannot stay silent.

How DARE this hag use her son's SGLI to buy land in Crawford, but couldn't buy her son a headstone!?

Has this woman no shame...of course she doesn't. It's all about her.

One might want to call the Crawford "Peace House" to speak to this Gerald T. Fonseca. Might want to set-up a protest in front of the property.

A WORD OF WARNING...ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT A RETURN TO THE YEARS OF BUBBA CLINTON...

OK, let me get this right...

President Bush, who has always been forthcoming in expressing his views, somehow betrayed the conservative base? Is that the (true, Goldwater & Reagan) conservative base, or the self-important Conservative pseudoparty, (read Buchanan, et al)?

Second, better to teach the GOP a lesson and allow the selection of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Harry Reid as Majority Leader, then to vote for a Republican Party you don't agree with 100%!?

A vote for a third party or a non-vote IS a vote for the Democrats. YOU want that? NOTHING will get done except repeal of tax breaks, shameful abandonment of Iraq, and impeachment of President Bush. You want that?

So, if you want a Democrat House and Senate, impeachment of President Bush, abandonment of the GWOT in Iraq, and economic recession, then don't vote Republican this year.

    Brothers:

Actually, US personnel can be awarded the LOM Legionnaire degree only.

No rules as to rank of recipients. I have personally written recommendations for E-7s and E-8s. Even had the E-8's recommendation approved. Have also seen Lt Col's retire with LOM recommendations downgraded to MSMs.

All dependent on types assignments and duties associated (as well as award history).

I used to think she was just a nut...misguided old Leftist. I've changed my mind...it's not about her honored son, it's just about her. She isn't being manipulated by the Left, she is an active, knowing participant in blatant self-hating, anti-American campaign sponsored by all the usual suspects.

Living close to Crawford, I went to support the President last Summer. I was mildly curious about the Sheehanites. Now, after her active anti-American stunts, domestically and internationally, I hate her and all her allies.

You can bet that this Army retiree and Republican will be among the loudest counter-protesters when Her Majesty once again darkens the streets of Crawford.

The Drama Queen was given her ticket by Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D,CA). I have emailed Speaker Hastert asking for an investigation. Rep. Woolsey obviously conspired with Sheehan to disrupt the State of the Union Address, and to possibly threaten the President. Rep. Woolsey should be made aware of the America's displeasure with her unlawful conspiracy.
