I’m a libertarian and I don’t feel that way at all.
In fact, it’s my judgment that the absence of modesty is a function of the absence of good discipline and good critical thinking skills. I believe both of these are learned, mostly at home, from good parenting.
I think that this sort of vulgarity in our culture is ruinous for our great nation. I don’t care if two adults want to sleep together. I’m simply not interested. But this permissiveness is foisted on us in the popular press, in the commercial arts and filmic media, and everywhere we buy goods and services. And so I am appalled that culturally this breezy sexuality if foisted on our young people, who are surely hurt by it.
In conclusion then, I would say that liberalism connotes, even denotes immodesty, whereas conservatism suggests or is defined by modesty and restraint.
