This time it's smokers - what will be next?

This seems to be happening in a lot of nations - Now - if drinking was also gone after with such gusto - others might understand it better as a true "health" issue - Drinking is well documented to cause problems - but is the urge there in all these nations to ban drinking - No - (I know, it was tried once in America - and failed - ) - But this is today - and the reason being given is health - Considering that - this drive to do away with smoking in all these places does not ring true - that is for it being done for "health" reasons -

With pushing the same sex issue - that seems to be also taking the same path as the smoking issue in many nations - Is it - what one nation does - others follow - ?

Does anyone see a pattern developing - What "one" side decides is PC - then that is what goes - around the world - it seems -

Should all others on Earth - just let it happen - around the world - giving up rights along the way -

The PC people just love it when silence is the answer and they get their way -

just my thoughts - I know it's been said that silence is golden but to everything there is a time and place - and sometimes silence becomes far from golden - especially when people so willingly give up their rights to please one side or the other in the wacky world in which we live today -

Israel - under the current leadership - is hard to read at times - Dealing with China ? - who would have thought - but I don't see where it should alarm the U.S. officials - they seem to be in love with China and all it can send here -

From another post: "oriental despotism - " Wondering - Would one think of Russia - or - China - upon seeing those words - or perhaps another nation -

Since Uk. is said to be looking to withdraw the troops from Iraq - what is the reason to believe the new leader will be good for the world - no matter who or what nation - was responsible for getting him elected - (this question comes with the attitude that the U.S. needs all the help it can get in Iraq)

Interesting - But it seems you have to be in the state that is being hit hard to care (if some posters are to be believed) - but what will they do when it comes to them directly - Guess they think on a state level and can't see the harm to the nation as a whole -

Too bad someone can't send this map directly to every member of Congress - and President Bush -

Also too bad that all(our government officials) have placed themselves above the law and can't be held accountable when/if these illegals break the laws -

And one wonders what will happen to these illegals -

Since everyone is looking the other way these days(because President Bush wants it that way) - why does anyone bother doing the job - ?

Got Gingrich's new book - he seems in favor of what is going on - only he wants them to be told how to be an American once they get here - - Say what? The public schools educating people on how to be an American? What schools might he be thinking of - certainly not the ones we have now! Our kids are no longer getting history as it was - and he thinks the schools would be willing to teach foreigners the American way of life - ? Gingrich seems to have a lot of "dreams" that will never happen

Strange nation with even stranger officials - The nation is headed down if nothing is changed -

(Now Texas is thinking of building a nice road for them(Mexicans) to travel from Mexico - through Texas - all the way to Ok. - and a company from Spain will be in charge of building it - What next? )

I have an idea - lets go kick the rest of the Mexicans out of Mexico - and then we all can go down and call their country America - (Leaving our corrupt leaders all far behind ) -

At least we will have a place to call America again - 'cause the word is lost on this place of foreigners who are far from adopting the American way as past immigrants did and wanted to do -

    Anyone can dream -

I guess you just have to be in a place - no matter the shade of skin or job - the med. cost impact is also interesting

O'Reilly was saying a higher percent when he checked on the issue with his viewers - also the CNN guy used a higher % - don't believe either sunk to a level of talking about race or job as a factor - All Americans should be against people coming here by breaking our laws -

I also found this post from someone(forget who) the other day interesting. (A good read) It sure seems that this is what is happening today with all the illegals - :

    "America's Demise ????"

"We all know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant."

"Last week there was an immigration-overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of American's finest minds and leaders."

"A brilliant college professor named Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal - was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream."

"Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America."

"The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do."

"No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.'"

"'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said: "

"First to destroy America, 'Turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual.' "

"'The historical scholar Seymour Lipset put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.' "

    "Lamm went on: "

"Second, to destroy America, 'Invent 'multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal. That there are no cultural differences. I would make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.' "

"Third, 'We could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. "

"As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' "

Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America reinforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.' "

"'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.' "

"'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' "

"I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.' "

"'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. "

"Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together."

"Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy Persia threatened their liberty."

"Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to over come two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' -- From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the 'unum,' we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.' "

"'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits -- make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century -- that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate."

"Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' "

"I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.' "

"In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed."

    "Finally he said,
"'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book Mexifornia. His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.' "

"There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today."

"Every discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.'"

"American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America - take note of California and other states - to date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' "

"In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.' "

"Governor Lamm, walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast."

"If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream."

    Just asking and wondering -

Where is the poll/rating on immigration and how it is going to be done according to President Bush -

No major poll is taken often on the illegals issue - that I know of - and announced on the news - wondering why - Strange that all networks seem to be avoiding the issue -

It appears both the left and right ignore something that is hot with the citizens - Is there a reason? Even during the Senate hearings - the questions were few -

Is the media and the admin. and Congress trying to hide the issue - by covering it up with other "news" - such as a memo on abuse - or the CBS memo - Hoping that the issue of immigration doesn't come up before the guy's vote to become A.G.

just a wondering - why no polls on certain issues that the media knows is of concern with the public -

From post: "Private business reaps the benefit of "cheap labor" and everyone else pays the overhead. Everyone understands this and their voices are being heard in Congressional offices. There are articles now being written anticipating intra-party strife over the issue, I say bring it on. I could be wrong, but I personally believe if the Republicans [and they will have democrat allies on this one] force the issue on the president, he won't veto. Whether or not Bush genuinely believes in his "jobs Americans won't do" mantra, or is in thrall to the agribusiness, construction, landscaping interests, etc. or if El Presidente Fox has thirty-year-old pictures of him participating in the Tijuana donkey act, he would probably be grateful to yield to pressure and drop the matter entirely if backed to the wall."

"The oft-repeated rhetorical question of how do we expel 8, 10, 15 million illegals is a total red herring. If we enforce the law at crucial choke points: employers, schools, emergency rooms, DMV's, welfare offices, etc. the illegals will gradually deport themselves and wages will gradually find a new equilibrium. Of course, we all know damn well it is NOT impossible to efficiently control the border. A combination of physical barriers, sensors on the ground and in the sky, and aggressive patrolling where needed [God knows the locals in the border country know quite well where most of the influx is, it's a matter of listening to them and acting on their intelligence, duh]."

"An especilly good place to begin would be to focus on cracking down on criminal aliens. Establish programs to empower and train local law-enforcement to enable them to check for residency and arrest illegals. Withhold Federal dollars from cities with "sanctuary laws." Imagine the effect of being able to check for residency status of anyone so much as breaching the peace, let alone robbing, raping and murdering. I don't believe it would be a hard sell with the hispanic community [again, after all, who suffers the most from the "vida loca" types?], as opposed to the usual grant-funded hispanic "spokespersons"? "

    _____

Good thoughts on the illegals issue - someone should send them to all the people in Congress working to block the illegals.

People need to keep giving opinions - if enough are heard from(between 60-70% of people are against the illegals) - President Bush wouldn't veto the bill - He would cause harm to his party if he did - and Republicans wouldn't be happy about that -

President Bush may be planning on heading home in 4 years - but plenty of Republicans want to remain in politics - He can't ignore that fact just to satify his love for illegals or big business, whatever the case -

President Bush needs to get out more - he does great on so many other important issue facing the nation but he's sadly lacking on the illegals issue - listening to all the wrong voices. Illegal immigration is doing harm to this nation and he doesn't seem to be able to see how much -

And like here at home - where borders 'can' be controlled - the same goes for Iraq. What is it about borders that the Bush admin. doesn't get? Does it have to do with the new world order - who is calling the shots? Is President Bush being shielded that much that he really doesn't know the harm being done all across America by these illegals?

Perhaps people should send e-mails to the White House - in mass - should get someone's attention -

One thing from post: "He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value - "

That is being hard on them - taking away coffee! No!

And what is our President doing? He seems to be pushing our open borders by suggesting his pick for A.G. be approved. After listening to the hearings, the guy clearly doesn't deserve the job. He sees no difference between illegal and legal when it comes to immigrants.

The issue of immigration is being hidden under the cover of the abuse issue with the terrorist captured. Both parties and the media are ignoring the illegal issue and it's about time the people spoke up - before the guy gets in and things get worse -

I think it is coming - like it or not -

The New World Order - in full swing - and perhaps why the immigration issue is being dragged out as it is -

The average citizen is told not to break the law - while officials are telling people from other nations to come here even if they break the law - And even when those illegals get caught - they are protected by other officials - who come to their aid - (Judges included)

They(officials in our government) are taking baby steps towards it - so as not to irk the American citizen into action - Everything is being done covertly - in a well thought out - calculated way -
