Non sequitor. From my perspective, who cares The Passion wins a People's Choice award or even an Oscar? An award from the industry that represent's much of what is wrong with this nation?

It's just not relevant what Libs think in regards to The Passion.

I was watching the football game and kept seeing clips about the People's Choice Award show.

I was wondering why they were flashing Mel Gibson's face on the screen during the commercial.

This explains it.

This got me thinking about crucifying Michael Moore. How big a cross would that take?

From today's Page Six column in the NY Post:

Lefty filmmaker Michael Moore has been tipped he's going to win the People's Choice Award tonight, Tom O'Neil reports at goldderby.com. This is the first year these awards - which insiders have long suspected notifies winners in advance - resorted to online voting instead of a Gallup poll.

Tinseltown has been buzzing about organized campaigns on behalf of Moore's Bush-bashing "Fahrenheit 9/11," which goes up against the likes of "Spider-Man 2" and "The Incredibles" for favorite movie, as well as for Mel Gibson's equally controversial "The Passion of the Christ," which is up for best drama.

Moore's flacks didn't return Post movie critic Lou Lumenick's calls, but sources confirmed he is snubbing tonight's New York Film Critics Circle awards to attend the Hollywood ceremony, where polar opposite Gibson is also expected to make an appearance.

Seesm to me, that total viewership (or total boxoffice take) should be the deciding factor. That would, by definition be the "people's choice" AND the "people's favorite."

Agree. These self anointed "Celebrities" can spend all of their time exchanging awards until Hell freezes over for all it really means. Getting an award from these Takers is akin to getting an endorsement for your Presidential bid from Al Gore - Pointless, irrelevant and time consuming.

I would rather put him through a wood chipper and give him an posthumous award for best use of human remains as mulch.

of course I am being sarcastic, as I cannot imagine the smell Moore Mulch would give off as heat hits it.

They want to have both "red" and "Blue" state watchers tune in.

Everything within rebels at the idea of watching an awards ceremony full of Leftist egotistical celebrities that would rather support Saddam's right to remain in power, than their own President.

Usually I wouldn't give it a thought. Except, if Mel is there to accept an award for the Passion I feel I should support that. I'll tune in when I know he's about to be up, then tune back out. Refuse to watch any other second.

For a lot of these Hollywood types, receiving awards is a validation of their worldview. To them, having to give a movie like "the Passion" an award is a serious blow.

If I were Gibson, I would decline the award.

Who needs awards from the enemy when you are doing God's work?

Me too...

Interesting to see and hear the respective crowd reaction to both Moore and Gibson winning.

From post: "We already know Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 911 will win "Favorite Picture" at the People's Choice Awards - "

It is strange that the people voted to elect Bush and now select Michael Moore's film as their favorite picture - Goes to show perhaps that - Truth is stranger than fiction at times - as in turn of events -

What a nation -

Not so "How big a cross would that take? " to hold Michael Moore as how big a hole it would take to hold the cross up. At least 20 feet deep.

Then they were very stupid and have made itself just one more lefty Hollywood awards show no longer worth watching, not that I have since I was 12 anyway. We will not discuss how long ago that was though.

Please!!!
Online poling on controversial issues is notoriously un-reliable and easily hijacked by organized efforts by people with agendas.

Give me a break. The "people's choice" for favorite film is "voted" on by the people who buy tickets.

In 2004, the No. 1 movie was "Shrek 2" from DreamWorks with $437 million in domestic ticket sales. Followed by Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man 2" ($373 million) and Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" ($370 million), one of the highest-grossing independently produced movies of the modern era.

The fat slob's "film" made only $120 million. How does that make it the favorite film?
