Markets manipulated as a result of polling data and media running rampant. Indirect manipulation when stock market dropped- opportunity to go long. DIRECT manipulation on the betting exchanges... Bush was up to +300 !!!!! Easy money, my friends!!!
For about 3 hours you could scalp 20-30c by going long Bush on Betfair and shorting him on Tradesports.
Money has never been easier since my day trading days... some big money HAD TO BE behind these betting exchanges. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was knocking off $3400 asks and BOOM, another $3400 pops up one tick higher.
It looks like the market is trending back to equilibrium on the betting exchanges.
I have about 25k wagered on Bush to win election. I was hitting the ask for $3k at a time and it would instantly be replaced with the next higher tick!! I climbed the latter from +184 all the way up to +220. Then put some more in later when it was +300 !!!! My average is about +197.
From my day trading days, it is clearly obvious that there was a TON of money shorting Bush. I typical day trading technique is to show a little size at a time.
I couldn't believe it when it was at +184... then +220... then +300!! Even if the market was extrememly inefficient, it would not go to that extreme. Especially not with people like me and others I know taking Bush for $2-3k per transaction!!! There was a TON of money behind Kerry here. I can't wait to read details of the aftermath.
