Scott Hahn has an absolutely brilliant analysis of the “trap” To do my best to paraphase professor Hahn he states that if Jesus says that they should stone her according to the law, the Pharisees catch him imposing a death sentence which can only be done by the Romans and thus Jesus is guilty of insurrection. On the other hand, if Jesus says she doesnt neeed to be stoned the Pharisees catch him going against the Old Testament law and thus could never be the Messiah. Jesus’s brilliant answer puts the Pharisees in an untenable position because they could never say that Jesus told them to stone her, because Jesus had such an incredibly low opinion of the Pharisees (calling them vipers, etc.) the Romans would not have accepted that he considered them “without sin.” So much more that I am missing would highly reccommend reading Hahn’s work as there are so many subtleties here that fly right over my head.

  • Mary is our Mother and Queen of the New Davidic Kingdom (Scriptures Agree With Catholic Church)

Pyro7480 is posting from SCRIPTURE catholic.

Why fear the scriptures, the more information the better.

The question is incredibly simple - is Matthew 13:55 referring to a term that always and only refers to a person’s biological brother and sister or did he use a term that is more inclusive of extended relatives referring to cousins, etc.

The original greek word is “adelphoi” which doesnt mean always biological brother and sister, it can mean cousin.

I think to be intellectually honest you have to accept that Matthew was not written in English and words have meanings and the most honest way to look at it is to go back to the original greek. By ignoring the original Greek and the meaning of the original greek you “are twisting it to fit (your) manmade (errant) dogma,” i.e. that Mary was not a perpetual virgin.

  • The Lady of Fatima: Has Mary Appeared in Visions?

Those apparitions predicted the start of World War II 30 years ahead of it, of which there is excellent documentation. You may want to look into that before passing judgement.

Also, Mariology does have a very strong basis in church tradition. We Catholics view sacred tradition as just as important as the bible. If “sola scriptura” was to be the entire basis of a religion why doesn’t it clearly say to rely only and exclusively on the bible anywhere in the bible?

Need to look at that in the context of Luke 8:19-21. Pretty clearly not a rebuke of honoring His Mother, Mary the Mediatrix of all Grace.

Ketsu is spot on. Real income levels are falling for the middle class and they are just working harder (same thing occurs with idiotic physicians who work harder the less you pay them). Meanwhile wealth is being super concentrated in financial services and anyone who recieves compensation denominated by the financial services industry. Why?? Currency confiscation and real wealth redestribution to financial service industry by the unconstitutional chief agent of impoversation - The Federal Reserve Board (est. 1913 by the commie Woodrow Wilson at the behest of his J.P. Morgan).

The Nashua Telegraph is an uberliberal pravda type ragg. Expect to see many more stories like this from them and the Concord Monitor. The truth is most people are very unhappy with the tax and spend demonrats controlling the governorship, the legislature and 2 of our house seats. Expect to see Shea-Porter (d) unseated soundly by a resurgent Jeb Bradley (R). Paul Hodes (d) was out pumping gas a couple of months ago, which is not the sign of someone very secure in his seat. Ted Stevens (R) has a great chance to knock him off, if we can keep the illegal voting (student non-residents illegally voting in Keene, Lebanon, Durham/Dover, Plymouth and Concord) to a minimum.
NH is still a very conservative state.

The people from MA are NOT the problem. They typically live in Rockingham and Hillsborough counties which in 2004 were very solidly for Bush. The problem is the illegal student voting, Kerry’s 2004 margin of victory came from 3 towns - Keene, Dover and Lebanon (all places with large student populations). What we really need is more law and order at the polling place.

This was only a matter of time.

I hope and pray it will lead us (possibly through people like Dr. Dobson) to impose a 100% boycott on anyone that advertises on ABC/CBS/NBC/NYTimes/BostonGlobe/NPR/PBS/Cspan/MSNBC. These are treasonous and seditious organizations and I believe as a Patriotic American I have an important duty not to enrich them with my purchases. People had the courage to leave their wives, parents and children to go and die for this country in a foreign land, the least I can do is not support people trying to destroy the country they fought for. We just need someone to spearhead and organize it. Good will always defeat evil, and if these commies want to start this, or even if they dont, lets do our duty too!

Another hint is just turn the TV off! or turn it to EWTN (the only channel permitted in my house)

So right you are about the financial service industry being the chief benefactor of a hyperinflationary fed and abandonment of the gold standard.

I think it is much more a matter of GUILT amongst these hedge fund managers that they support commies like Obama. They know they got their money somewhat unjustly because the Fed has been massively devaluing the currency since good old Woodrow Wilson right through Easy Al Greenspan. They get the money first and spend before everyone else knows its been fractionally diluted and is now worth less.

I am hoping to find a job in that industry!

We just have to sit back and let them act. They are digging there own graves with their behaviour since taking over and I LOVE IT. I would like the republican congress critters to vote with the democrats and move this thing to the floor for a real vote. Can they do that? Just put em all on record and watch em fry next election!! Just like gun control this is a big loser for them, although they havent quite figured it out yet.

Agree with HitmanLV - death of the earthly body to the true believer means nothing! Give me someone who is at least pro-life!

Wake up people! The media wants Rudy, because he will be beaten. Romney scares them because he totally breaks the Daddy Warbucks (Dole, Fred Thompson, McCain, Cheyney and yes Giuliani)image of republicans they are trying to brainwash the young into having. I am no booster of Romney, his flip flops arrouse deep suspicion. But he can look into a camera and come right back at you looking incredibly good (both in physical appearance and speech content).

These are essentially excommunication "in private."

Whatever happened to the public announcement, the barring from church property, the defrocking penalties for the local heretical parish priest giving them communion.

There is a simple solution - EXCOMMUNICATION! Pelosi, Kennedy and Kerry should all be at the top of the list. Excommunication is also mericfully reversible if the excommunicant repents/recants.

This is pretty much the only problem I have with the Catholic Church, these heretics should have been booted long ago.
