54% Say Dems Likely to Nominate White Male
rasmussenreports.com 36 minutes ago
New York Senator Hillary Clinton and Illinois Senator Barack Obama have been one-two in polls for the Democratic Presidential nomination since the campaign season begin. Together, they routinely attract support from more than half of all Likely Democratic Primary Voters. But, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 54% of the nation's voters say it's at least Somewhat Likely that the Democrats will end up nominating a White Male. Twenty-four percent (24%) of all voters say a White Male candidate is Very Likely.
Thirty-four percent (34%) say the Democrats are Not Very Likely or Not at All Likely to nominate a White Male. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.
This month's poll finds voters a bit more likely to believe the nominee could be a White Male. A month ago, just 46% said that outcome was Somewhat or Very Likely. Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards is the only White Male candidate earning double digit support in polling for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. He has consistently found himself in third place attracting support in the mid-teens nationally.
Democrats themselves are even more inclined to see the possibility of both frontrunners being passed. Sixty-one percent (61%) of Democrats say a White Male nominee is at least Somewhat Likely. Twenty-two percent (22%) consider it Very Likely.
Younger voters are also quite skeptical about prospects for the frontrunners. Among voters under 30, a startling 43% say it's Very Likely the Democrats will end up nominating a White Male. That figure falls to just 16% for voters over 50.

That’s easy. Hillary will simply announce that she really is a male, and has been for quite a while now.
I think they might be right, after all Hillary is the front-runner.
That just shows how stupid dims are.
Paging Al “gorebull warming” Bore!!! We need you to save the planet.
Here's the man.
“Dems likely to nominate white male”
This eliminates John Edwards, but it’s no help in predicting between Hillary and Obama.
This is America. Voters need to make some hard decisions about who should lead this country and the war against radical Islam. An unqualified women? A naive unqualified Muslim male? I don’t think so. When it comes down to the actual election the reigns of this country will still be in the hands of a Republican.
Well Obama is half white and Hillary is atleast half male so I guess either could count as a white male.
This is bad news for the Breck Girl as he’s more of a woman than Hill.
Maybe this means Chris Dodd will get the nomination.
54%: Somewhat Likely
24%: Very Likely

That’s huge.
I have thought for months that Edwards is going to be our biggest challenge, even though it hasn’t appeared that way or does not (still) appear that way right now.
Slow Joe Biden must be salivating!
Hillary's white?
Janet Reno will vouch for her maleness, even if it's worn.
But as long as we're here, why not continue up the levels of abstraction? Let's have a poll to see who people think other people would think other people are going to nominate were they polled on the subject of who they think other people are going to nominate. Make sense?
Unless we drop the reigns and roll off the buckboard fighting with each other.
Silky pony is a male, right?
Careful. This poll says nothing about whether either of those two will win the nomination (or election). It is a poll regarding who people think will be nominated.
Needless to say I hope, who someone thinks will be nominated, and who someone will actually vote for in the primary, need not be the same person. It could be that a lot of people intend to vote for Hillary, but are extremely pessimistic about her chances, for example.
first glance I thought that said white whale, I thought, yup,
What a rediculous, meaningless poll of silly, uninformed voters. Rasmussen, you are the weakest link.
