So the plan is for Media Matters to keep pounding away with these manufactured incidents until the Democrats have sufficient political ammo to bring back the fairness doctrine.

I wonder how a third-party anti-war presidential ticket consisting of, oh, say Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, would affect the Democrats’ chances of winning the White House in ‘08.

It’s interesting that American papers have to play ball and print this twaddle — spoon-fed by the Chinese government — lest they fall out of favor politically, and lose access to Chinese officials.
I will mention that I believe Mr. Thompson still has time to correct this perceived shortcoming.
If he can cut loose with a stemwinder when the eyes of the nation are upon him, he can dispel many of the unflattering notions that are beginning to form.

For the GOP, it’s best to let a lame duck President take the political heat, rather than Senators and Congressmen who will be up for re-election in 2008.
Therefore, I look forward to more vetoes from President Bush, to protect taxpayers from long-fingered Democrat pickpockets.

IMO, events like these allow radicals in the Islamic community to make inferences regarding how deeply the British believe in their own values.
When Islamic radicals see appeasement, special treatment and backpedaling every time a moderate Muslim asserts his or her identity, they might — rightly IMO — conclude that the British don’t believe in their own values enough to stand up for them.
