  • Trouble in Ohio with Election Results?

These people are taking the concept of being a "sore loser" to all new lows. The left is really going off the deep end because they thought for sure this election was a done deal for Kerry, and now they can't accept his defeat.

The CIA and the State Department have been run into the ground by career liberal bureaucrats, and now the housecleaning begins.

Agreed. President Bush will make history again when the GOP gains seats in the House and Senate just like they did in 2002. The Democrats are really coming apart at the seams, and I welcome it!

  • Howard Dean considering bid to chair Democratic Party

That's why Harold Ickes name is being mentioned as a possibility for the DNC chair too. Ickes is a Clinton lackey for sure, and Hillary and Bill want their own people running the party in preparation for 2008. Howard Dean chairing the DNC would be pure entertainment for us, but it would also start a civil war in the Democratic Party between the Clintonistas and the non-Clintonistas. In that fight my money is on the Clintonistas. It will be interesting to watch this all play out.

Al Gore is the typical delusional liberal. He doesn't know he's finished as a presidential candidate, but it's going to be fun to see him make a fool out of himself for the next four years. Loony Democrats are always fun to watch.

Agreed. I realized the Democratic Party would never accept an alternative position on abortion and I left two years ago and I don't regret it for a second. They don't get it over on the other side and sadly they never will.

I thought our liberals were looney enough, but apparently they got nothing on the ones across the pond. Must be that strong tea they're drinking over there.

Just reading the story is making me feel even better knowing the libs are truly suffering because of the election results.

Another clueless liberal who thinks government intervention in all aspects of our lives is the salvation of the country. Keep on crying madam because the "gullible" types are increasing in number all over this country, and frankly they don't care for arrogant know-it-all types like yourself who think that people outside of the northeast are a bunch of hayseeds and hicks. Enjoy the sting of defeat because that's all your side will be feeling in upcoming elections.

Mr. O'Donnell has officially lost his mind. It sounds like he and other liberals want to replay the Civil War. What a complete and utter moron this guy is! The Democrats ought to lick their wounds and figure out how to appeal to the all of the "rednecks and welfare cheats" in the red states, and maybe they can win the presidency again. Don't bet on it. The libs still think it was the messenger who failed (Kerry), and not the message (liberalism). These people won't see the White House for a very long time if they keep this up.

I guess the libs at the NYT got tired of heaping abuse on President Bush, so they had to find a disgruntled Republican to do it now. Nofziger had his day in the sun with President Reagan. It seems he didn't learn Reagan's 11th Commandment of Thou shall not attack another Republican, or something to that effect.

The Democrats are going to treat Kerry as a pariah. After all in their minds the President was an idiot, and that anyone could defeat him. Kerry will go back to the senate, but he'll never be taken seriously by any of his colleagues ever again.

I guess they're pissed that the GOP outworked them in Ohio and Florida in getting voters to the polling places that they have to come up with a conspiracy theory to explain their loss. When liberals are bitter they become even more kooky and delusional. More fun for us!

I can't see anyone stopping Hillary for the Democratic nomination in 2008. There is no one in that party who has the guts and courage to take on the Clintonistas, and if Harold Ickes gets the chairmanship of the DNC they will be even tougher to stop. I will say that it will be interesting to see Hillary take on Algore for the nomination. That's a grudge match that everyone of all political stipes want to see.

  • To protect America, we must save the Democrats.

The problem is first and foremost the Clintons! They run the party organization, and if Harold Ickes is the next DNC chairman, it will solidify their power. The rational Democrats know the party is too liberal to win at the national level, but they have no say in the direction of the party. Hillary is going to be their next presidential nominee in 2008. If the party somehow moderates its' image where does that leave the liberals? They will not tolerate modified positions on abortion, gun control, taxes, and national defense. I don't see it happening. The Zell Millers, Joe Liebermanns, and Evan Bayhs of the party are much too small in number to affect the direction of policy. It will take a catastrophic loss before they understand that they're sadly out of touch with most Americans.

  • What's Next For John Edwards?

Those are all good points you make. Richard Nixon took the path that you suggested, and it led to his comeback in 1968 after the bitter loss in 1960. He was willing to repair his image and work hard for the party. He paid his dues by campaigning for congressional candidates in 1966, and it led to the GOP winning a number of seats back in congress which helped him gain party support for his presidential run in 1968. His was one of the great political comebacks in American political history, but I don't think Mr. Edwards is willing to take a back seat and work hard behind the scenes to make his comeback. I could be wrong, but we'll see. The Democratic Party has so many problems, and I don't see anyone on the horizon who will bring it back to prominence, not even Hillary!!

  • Dan Rather loses it (Free Republic Mentioned)

Instead of going out in style to end an illustrious career, Dan Rather is going out and down in flames. I guess he never got over the tongue lashing he received from Papa Bush back in 1988, and he sought to get over on the son. It failed thanks in large part to the people here on this board. It was funny to watch Dan get so flustered early Wednesday morning when it was becoming apparent that the President was going to carry Ohio and be reelected. All that work to bring down a President and it failed. Also, the credibility of the entire MSM took a severe hit in the eyes of most Americans. I don't know which I feel better about- the defeat of Kerry or the defeat of the MSM. On second thought I'm enjoying both events with equal joy.

Has anyone added Maureen Dowd to the earlier posting as one of the most bitter persons in the media? Talk about being bitter and delusional. I didn't know Karl Rove was the reincarnation of the devil. He really has the MSM freaked out of their minds.

He had his moment in the sun. His only chance at the presidency was for a win last Tuesday. Before too long the Democrats are going to be aiming blame at him for Kerry's loss. His political career is at an end, and he ought to stay and enjoy life in North Carolina as a prosperous attorney.

It's hard for the Dems to argue with Bill. After all, the man did win two terms as President. The rank and file of the party may detest the influence of the Clintons, but the state and national leaders are scared to death of them. Hillary has the Democratic nomination in 2008 and frankly I can't see anyone stopping her. If Hillary doesn't win the nomination then there will be hell to pay for the Democratic Party with the wrath of the Clintons being unleashed on them. I can't wait!
