Democrats For Life ^ | November 3, 2004 | Kristen Day

Posted on 11/07/2004 6:00:17 PM PST by Clintonfatigued

"We are hopeful the national party will reassess its pro-abortion stance after the disastrous results of Tuesday night," Democrats for Life director Kristin Day said. "They are costing us elections and abandoning our founding values of protecting and advocating for those who need a helping hand. At the top of that list should be helping protect the rights of the unborn."

Note to Kristin Day: I concluded years ago that abortion was a sacrament in the secular religion of the Democrat Party. That's why I left that party. You would be wise to do the same.

Asking the Democrat's to change their stance on abortion is like asking a zebra to change it's stripes, or asking the wind not to blow.

Abortion is the primary reason the party exists. It is the biggest thing they stand for, everything else is negotiable.

"In almost all cases, pro-life Republicans defeated pro-abortion Democrats."

That trend will continue in 2006. And by then, 3 million more babies will be aborted.

News flash for Ms. Day: Your party's professional abortionist mouthpieces will NEVER NEVER give up the $600+ million they gets from the government to abort babies.

If you want pro-life, you have our number.

I don't consider myself a "one issue" voter but it's right near the top of my list.

It was one the first for me as well. Now there are a multitude of them, but abortion is the biggest. We had a pro-life dem run against Connie Morella here a while back and I gladly voted for him over Morella.

I heard a talk show host, can't remember who, ask Patricia Ireland, former head of NOW, about this the other night. She says it is a non-negotiable.
So good luck to the pro-life dems. It will be a losing battle.

"I know there are prolife democrats, but I don't know why."

Because the focus on the poor and marginalized through assistance, healing the sick, and educating the young are bread and butter Democratic issues, always have been.

That CAN be very Christian indeed, so long as the well is not poisoned with the sewage of abortion and gay marriage.

Indeed, the single most dangerous thing for Republican Party dominance would be the rise of traditional social values Democrats who are also nationalists...in other words, Truman Democrats. There are plenty of Truman Democrats in the South and Midwest and Mountain States: Christian, pro-life, patriotic, pro-international intervention folks who nevertheless believe strongly in a leading role of the State in social welfare and jobs issues from education and TVA type projects to tax cuts on wages, not on capital. If they ever organized themselves and took over the Democratic Party, the Democrats would sweep back to power, because the weak link in the Republican agenda is that the Republicans are too wedded to capital.

But until that day, the Republicans will continue to pick up these folks' votes, because the Republicans are pro-life and the current Democrats want to murder babies for convenience.

Weird. Isn't being a "pro-life Democrat" like being a Marxist Republican?

I was one for many years, till I finally couldn't take it anymore and left. Have been Independent ever since, though tend to vote Republican.

You and me both. "Pro-Life Democrats" are tilting at windmills. I have great respect for them, but at this point, I think they are nuts not to leave the Democratic Party.

They wouldn't change their stance, they would just lie about it to get elected! Isn't that the RAT way?

It was odd to watch an entire presidential campaign that avoided rubbing the democrats' noses in their ardent defense of the indefensible serial killing called partial birth abortion.
