The state House of Representatives debated then voted overwhelmingly in favor of two resolutions that authorize educators to enforce state law over new Title IX regulations, as more than 100 protesters chanted in favor of transgender rights in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol on Wednesday. The bills were also overwhelmingly approved by the Utah Senate. Votes were cast largely along partisan lines. Convening in a special session, Utah lawmakers passed HCR301, sponsored by Rep. Washington County — The corner of Indian Knolls Drive and Chinook Drive was taped off Tuesday evening as Washington, Washington County, police investigated a fatal shooting. ROSE, Idaho — The man who was shot and killed by an 85-year-old woman during a home invasion had parked at least a mile away from her home, walked, and then broke in through a window with a screwdriver. The incident happened on March 13 off 134 West and 600 North. Bingham County prosecuting attorney Ryan Jolley described the home where it all happened as a secluded area surrounded by fields.

Police believe an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of Murray fitness center led to the shootings of both the victim and the man accused of trying to take her car. At least six Salt Lake County women share a disturbing reality: prosecutors believe they were intentionally hit by a man in a white car while they were walking outside. KSL is aware of at least two other eerily similar hit-and-run incidents involving women and a suspect in a white car, but those remain under investigation. A Kearns man is facing several criminal charges after police say he tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl until her mother intervened. Miguel Angel Vega Sedano, 21, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with attempted child kidnapping, a first-degree felony; and two counts of possessing someone else's identification, a class A misdemeanor...
