In tonight's head of household competition ("HOH"), the contestants were required to putt a golf ball up a ramp and into a hole. Once it went into the hole, it went down a tube. Before the contest, the hostess made clear that the rule was that the first person who's ball reached the bottom of that tube won. Marvin hit his ball and it went into the hole; however, it bounced around a bit. At exactly the same time, Karen hit her ball in the hole; it rolled directly into the center of the cup after hitting the back of...

On Good Morning America, Dianne Sawyer just said there was breaking news that Saddam issued a proclamation against weapons of mass destruction.

I am in Dupont Circle on the 9th Floor of an Apt building looking s.w. toward Rosslyn. In a location that appears to be slightly north of Pentagon, there is an extremely bright spotlight in the sky. It is brighter than any I have seen before. It is pointing N-NE and moving in a regular path. Never seen it before - anyone know what it is?

Small tornado touched down right by Pentagon off I-395. The rotating storm is now heading NE up I-95 towards Laurel, MD. I assume there will be details to follow.

Not sure what this means, but here is what my fiancee and I saw from her top floor apt and the roof of her Dupont Circle, DC place: Watching TV, hear the word "Pentagon." Immediately went to window which faces West and to the left saw smoke. I also saw a plane. We all know the smoke was caused by a plane crashing into it. This SECOND PLANE that we saw had 4 engines and was VERY low. I thought it was military, and my first reaction was that it had DROPPED a bomb on the pentagon. We had not ...

Has any authority interviewed the construction crews that were replacing the brick sidewalks outside the Newport (Chandra's apartment building) and all along 21st street, NW, for several weeks during the end of April to the beginning of May when she disappeared? They had finished by the time the investigations started and cops entered her apartment. If not, someone needs to follow up on this.

CubanB13 has the fortune of owning the site Stopdemocrats.com. However, being a 17-year-old high school student and aspiring media mogul, he does not have the time keep it up to his exacting standards, while still pursuing his other sites. Cuban, the good freeper that he is, wishes to "license" the domain name and 50 state by state yahoo anti-democats clubs to go with it to someone who will use it properly for the cause (so any liberals that offer for it will be discovered and discriminated against, which is ok if it is for a political belief, of course - ...

On eYada.com, there is an internet "radio" show called Dan and Scott. Evidently a gentleman calling himself "Jesus" has called in and revealed the order of the castaways and the final winner in advance. He was right about Roger tonight in advance. He has divulged the rest, but I shall not repeat here for fear of liability. (I would win the suit, since I am only repeating what I heard, but I would have to fight the suit.) This guy claims to be a writer for TV - a union guy. To protest "reality shows" in general, their use of ...

I was walking from the Metro at Dupont Circle in DC at noon, and crossed the street with none other than Webb Hubbell. He is a big guy - 6'3" and about 250. Slow, laboured movement, but no limp or anything. I would recognize those pouting, supple lips anywhere. Anyway, he went into a law office - don't know the name, but it is in the old brick building at 20th and Mass Ave that has just had sandblasting done to it.

This morning on the NBC morning show, Matt Lauer interviewed a Mrs. Childs, who lost the worlds smallest poodle on December 14. NBC spent about 2 minutes with her and showed the mangy mutt's picture several times. The dog has not been seen since December 14, and does not wear a collar because it is too small. The dog also takes daily medication to stave off seizures. Matt, at the end, begged her to keep them posted.

In his concession speech, Vice President Al Gore observed "as my father once said, that no matter how hard the loss, defeat may serve as well as victory to shake the soul and let the glory out." We jumped on the Internet yesterday and found the same "Cyber Quotation: One stop to get Inspired!" under the category "Victory in Defeat." "Defeat may serve as well as victory," poet Edwin Markham (1852-1940) had observed, "To shake the soul and let the glory out."

Just though of this now: Yesterday when reporting on SCOFFLAW's decision, Jennings asked an "expert" about the December 12th deadline. He said something to the effect of " that deadline is not set in stone, I mean, it is not in the constitution. it is ONLY in the code." When it is accepted that nothing in the code (which is federal law, mind you) really means anything because it is simply a law enacted by elected representatives of the people that can be brushed aside by unaccountable appointed judges, we are up Sh*t creek without our proverbial paddle!

This story says that Bush heard about SCOFFLAW decision on the TV. However, when I watched it live on TV this afternoon, I heard that ALGORE got word by phone BEFORE it was announced.

Profiles of the four lawyers scheduled to argue Bush v. Palm Beach County Canvassing Board before the U.S. Supreme Court today: Theodore Olson, counsel for Bush Campaign The selection of Theodore Olson to argue Governor George W. Bush's case before the U.S. Supreme Court was predictable. An able advocate and a forceful Republican partisan, Mr. Olson was also a chair of the lawyers' committee for Bush's election. His wife, Barbara, a familiar conservative pundit, wrote Hell to Pay, a book sharply critical of Hillary Clinton, last year. Mr. Olson, 60, headed the Office of Legal Counsel under President Ronald ...

HERE ARE JUST a few of the facts: One study asked middle-class black, white and Asian high school students what was the lowest grade their parents would tolerate their bringing home? Asian students replied A-minus. Blacks said their parents would accept grades lower than both white and Asian students. Nationally, 74 percent of black students fail to graduate five years after entering college. Black students have the lowest grade point averages both entering and leaving college. John H. McWhorter, a linguistics professor at UC-Berkeley, offers an explanation in his new book, "Losing the Race: Self-Sabotage in Black America." It's ...
