MONROE, CONNECTICUT (AP) -- A Monroe man is accused of assaulting his wife with a carrot. Pamela Vecsey underwent six hours of surgery after being hit in the eye with the vegetable Saturday night, but doctors were not able to restore her vision. Police say she was arguing with her husband, Roderick Vecsey, when he threw the carrot. Roderick Vecsey is charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He is free on 500 dollars bond.
