The guy with the camera is one of his step-sons. I believe it is Andre. The brothers looks similar to each other though, so it could be Chris. I don't see any other family members in the photo.

Both his grandma and grandpa on his father's side were Jewish. A proffesional geneologist discovered this. The family wanted it to be a secret. Kerry's grandfather commited suicide in a hotel after losing alot of money when Kerry's father was a kid. According to articles I have read Kerry's father didn't like to talk about his past. It is possible John Kerry didn't know he was half Jewish. He attended a Catholic Church growing up. I think as a kid he did do a project on his family history and learned that his grandma was probably Jewish. So people who chastise him for letting Mass. think he was your typical Irish Catholic have a point. He really doesn't have any immediate Irish ancestory.

Interesting. I don't wish Hell on anybody but the most evil. I used to think that alot of Christians liked the thought of non-Christians being punished. This made me feel somewhat repelled by Christians. I think that misconception is what turns alot of other people off too. It made me somewhat of an anti-Christian bigot. I got to know Christians who were actually nice people and treated me well after my father died and my feelings changed. Then I realized most Christians were not like that. This is what lead to my conversion.

The verse in question just doesn't sound as clear to me as it does to you. I wasn't saying you were preaching. I wanted to point out that often times when secular people hear a Christian person say Jews are going to Hell they think the Christian is sadistic and actually likes the thought of them suffering. I know this because that is what I used to think. It doesn't occur to them that the Christian is sincerely concerned for their soul and wants to help them. Fear of Hell does help convert, but exposure to Christians who actually walk the walk is extremely helpful. I have not written off the idea of my mother ever becoming a Christian, but it is going to be difficult because she is an atheist.

I don't know. When Jesus said "No man comes to the Father but by Me" remember He was speaking to the people around Him. Jesus could have meant that if they do not listen to Him and practice what He is teaching them they won't go to heaven. It is not certain He meant that for generations and generations into the future those who don't believe in Jesus or who have not even heard of Jesus are automatically not going to Heaven. So, I am not certain what was meant by that. I am a Christian, but I have family members who are not. I think the best way to convert people is by setting a good example. What made me go from agnostic to Christian was actually getting to know nice people who were Christians. Hearing Christians talking about others going to Hell actually turns alot of people off. Leave the decision of who is going to Heaven or Hell up to God.

They made a deal with the Kerry and Bush campaigns. If they were allowed inside the campaigns, they agreed they wouldn't publicize what they saw until after the election. Now, after the election we have a really interesting issue of Newsweek.

I wonder how many of these strategists are really happy about the idea of a Hillary run for president. I suspect they are just being nice. Or they are dillusional. She is stiffer and more robotic in her movements than Al Gore.

I think I have figured out what your saying. You believed we still had a chance of winning the war. Kerry was trying to make concessions with the enemy while there were still soldiers fighting who thought they had a chance of winning. That is much more reasonable than calling Kerry a communist or pro-communist. My father who was a history teacher told me it was not smart to have gone to Vietnam because Americans were not familiar with fighting in jungles. This came from a man who was fascinated by wars since he was a little boy and supported most wars.

I take things literally, so when I hear the word murderous I think of the physical act of murduring. I don't think Kerry intended to aid the VietCong. What would be the point in that? He was trying to negotiate the release of the POW's. The only other options would be to wait for the POW's to escape, or charge the prison. By negotiating with them he may have unwittingly given them more credibility than they deserved and made alot of people angry.

DU has alot of conspiracy nuts and irrational people in general. How could anyone with any decent understanding of politics think that Dean would have gotten more votes than Kerry? I think even alot of them have given up on that idea. People who are worried about terrorism are not going to want the former governor of Vermont to keep them safe. Also, height really does matter in influencing how people view you. Kerry's record is actually more liberal than Deans which adds to the irony of the far left who beat up on Kerry in favor of Dean.

It is a myth that there is one magical candidate out there that all democrats are going to love. No matter who was picked a large portion of democrats would be looking over their shoulder for someone better. I even think Bill Clintons appeal is exaggerated by the media. It is the media that feel charmed by him. They project their feelings on to rank and file democrats.

I read somewhere that Kerry's father was pushing him to take a public role in the anti-war movement. He made it clear that he thought Kerry was a wimp if he didn't. That is the dynamic no one talks about.

Not all abortions can be accurately described as the killing of a baby. I don't consider a just fertalized egg to be a baby. I don't know what percentage of abortions are late-term. Do different states have different laws about at what month in the pregnancy a woman can no longer abort?

Those kids are too young to talk about abortion with. I had a hard time with the abortion issue for a long time. But now I have decided I am pro-life with a few exceptions such as if a woman was sick and would die if she had to carry a baby full term. It is hard having to choose one life over another. Most woman who have abortions probably feel bad about it the rest of their lives. There is the guilt, and then the people telling them they are going to hell. If they don't want the kid they should just put it up for adoption. It is not an ideal situation but it is better than being depressed the rest of their lives. I don't know what percentage of abortions are late-term versus early term. If you know could you tell me? To me there is a moral difference between woman who would abort a fetus that hasn't even developed a brain and doesn't have awareness and a woman who would abort later in the pregnancy. I wouldn't do either though. Wouldn't want to risk my soul.

In a Newsweek article it says that only about 15 seconds of Kerry's three hour footage has Kerry in it. According to John O'Neil Kerry brought the camera with him because he was against the war and wanted to boost his case. He didn't think he would have to be in combat when he signed up. The situation changed after Kerry had already signed up. It would be near impossible to get anybodies heroics on video. Thats why I don't buy that theory.
