If the dems don't really cut and run, they lose the sheehan vote and we win handily. If they do cut and run, our side turns out in Biblical proportions and we win handily.

I agree. The Iraq war puts them into a real political quandary, now that they are finally thrust into a position that demands accountability. Before it's all over, the war may end up doing more damage to the Democrats than it does to the Republicans.

Go back up to the second to the last picture with the caption:

A group of the college students cross Georgia Avenue, preparing to punk the Pinkos.

Thats my son, Gary Livacari, out in front of the group on the left in the blue shirt. He's a senior at George Wahsington University and is the Chairman of the George Washington College Republicans and did much of the organizing for this event. You'll see him in a few of the other pictures, too.

Thanks for your interesting comments. I'm also from Chicago and a lifelong baseball fan.

This is the 50th anniversity of the Sporting News interview with Chick Gandil in which he makes the claims that I've highlighted in my essay, e.g., they conspired with the gamblers, they took dirty money, they deserved what they got (being banned from baseball); but they basically "chickened out" of actually throwing the games and played all games to win. By the way, in my research, I've discovered that all eight players have made this same claim at one time or another.

The Gandil article started me to rethnking the entire sordid episode, and my only point now is that the possiblity that all the games were played to win is worth investigating. That certainly appears to be the consensus of the contemporary observers (as I mention in the essay).

It's a fascinating article and if you or anyone else would like to see it, I can either post it here or get it to you one way or another.

If you're interested in this subject, I'd highly recommend a book that came out earlier this year: Burying the Black Sox by Gene Carney. It's a fascinating read and Gene Carney has to be the leading authority on the 1919 World Series.

Like I said...my wife is better looking than me, but my 18 year old daughter is a knock-out! (Does that fit in with this goofy theory or not...I'm totally confused!)

Did they take into consideration the fact that many liberal beautiful women abort their male children in preference of having a girl? Evolutionary pschologist, these people will do anything to be noticed.

Yeah..you're probably right. I doubt there was a questionaire asking if the mother ever had an abortion, and if yes, for what reason.

Junk Science at its worst! Why in the world if the London School of Economics doing this type of goofy, worthless research? And can anyone tell me what an "evolutionary psychologist" is?

Take that back...I don't want to know!

"We have shown that beautiful parents have more daughters than ugly parents because physical attractiveness is heritable and because daughters benefit from this more than sons."

Can you even imagine what it was like when these so-called "researchers" were sorting out all the people in this study? "OK...you - with the scraggly beard and the fat wife - we're putting you two into the 'ugly' group... and by the way, how many daughters do you have?"

What did they do if one of the parents was good-looking and the other was ugly? My wife is better looking than me, so it's a good thing we weren't used for this study! And we have a daughter and a son!! That would have really screwed up their research!!

If you get a chance to watch this, look for my son, Gary Livacari, the newly elected Chairman of the George Washington College Republicans. He's the one who introduces the moderator.

This event was held at George Washington University on April 6th. According to Gary, it went well, although rather tame. No significant fireworks. Horowitz treated him rather civilly. He could have really "laid him out" but chose not to.

Immediately following the debate, both appeared on Hannity and Colmes, which many of you may have seen, where Sean Hannity really went after Churchill, repeatedly demanding an apology for his vile "little Eichmann" remarks (referrring to the victims of 9/11). Given ample opportunity to do so, Churchill never apologized.

Just a quick reminder that the debate between David Horowitz and goof-ball Ward Churchill is still on, and is scheduled for this Thursday, April 6th, at 8:00 PM. So far Churchill hasn't backed out.

My son Gary - who is doing the arrangements for the event - tells me that C-Span will probably be airing the debate live. If so, look for my son - he'll be the representative of the George Washington College Republicans and will be introducing the moderator. The debate will be held in the Marvin Center, in the same place where Crossfire used to be held. I'll let you know if any further developments.

  • MAIN PRESS PLANS ANOTHER WEEK OF CHENEY SHOOTING COVERAGE

I think the last line in the Drudge report article says it all:

...Or what it says about the timing and state of print publications in the Click Age of news cycles

What a great name for the new-age of reporting - the "Click Age"!

The MSM, or better, "Antique Media" is still operating as they did 25 years ago, before the arrival of the Alternative Media. Cover stories on a news item that has already run its course is a perfect example. They just can't understand why things don't work as well as they used to. Years ago, this would have propped-up the story and kept it going. This may keep it going, all right, but not in the way they wish. Now they've become the story and they just look foolish, biased, and partisan.

This week alone, Bernie Goldberg has gotten another chapter for his next book. They continue to make his job easier and easier.

But there's also a deeper meaning to this media feeding frenzy we're seeing. The MSM is putting the Republicans on notice that they are going to blow up every misstatement and misstep of anyone even remotely associated with the Republicans. With the election looming later this year, and control of both houses of Congress at stake, they are going to do everything they can to influence the election. They are now completely "out-of-the-closet" in their support of the Democrats and their hatred for Republicans. As the Democrats willing accomplices, they will do any "leg-work" needed to help the Democrats, no matter how dirty.

The operative themes for the rest of the year are now:

    1. Always put any Republican in the worst possible light; blow up everything, no matter how small or insignificant, into a major scandal. Never drop any issue that might hurt the Republicans in the election.

    2. Minimize or completely ignore anything that could possibly hurt the Democrats in the election (e.g., Gore's remarks in Saudi Arabia).

The MSM has put the Republicans on notice with their coverage of the Cheney incident. Let's hope someone on the inside sees this and is developing an appropriate counter strategy.
