On April 6-7, 2006, Students for Academic Freedom will host its First National Academic Freedom Conference featuring a debate between Students for Academic Freedom Chairman David Horowitz and University of Colorado-Boulder Professor Ward Churchill. The topic for debate will be: Can Politics Be Taken Out Of The Classroom, and Should It Be?
The debate will be held Thursday evening on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, DC. Young Americas Foundation and the Center for the Study of Popular Culture are the co-hosts of the debate. Seating for the debate is limited and will be determined by George Washington University. Conference registration does not guarantee admission to the debate.
The conference will also feature U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander, House Leader Jack Kingston, and Colorado high school student Sean Allen whose recording of an anti-American rant by his geography teacher, Jay Bennish, created a national furor over classroom indoctrination. The conference (apart from the debate) will take place at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, DC.
The conference is free for students, non-profit employees
First, let's compare credentials.
If the Freaks let Horowitz get a word in edgewise, Ward's gonna get his ass kicked.
David Horowitz actually has an M.A. in English. Literary Props!
Well... I guess I don't know how capable of a debater either one is, but Horowitz is by far the wiser, more honest and more correct of the two. :-)
ONE OF WARD CHURCHILL'S EX-WIVES SPEAKS
By Michelle Malkin · March 13, 2005 06:12 PM
The never-ending Ward Churchill saga continues. Pirate Ballerina has a four-page rant reportedly from one of his ex-wives, "Dr. M. Anne Jaimes" of San Francisco.
She essentially accuses him of stealing her work and says he is guilty of "being Indian careerism."

I could almost consider driving up to DC to watch this show. (Tell you son he better do some contingency planning -- I wouldn't bet the farm that Churchill will show. If he has any sense, he won't.)
Watching Horowitz rip Churchill a new one would be fun!
Congratulations! You must be very proud of him.
Much .edu about nothing.
Oooh, I hope they have pictures...I want one of Chief Wannabee stomping off in protest...
SWEET Ann Coulter takes another look at the Ward Churchill controversy:
Tenure was supposed to create an atmosphere of open debate and inquiry, but instead has created havens for talentless cowards who want to be insulated from life.
Rather than fostering a climate of open inquiry, college campuses have become fascist colonies of anti-American hate speech, hypersensitivity, speech codes, banned words and prohibited scientific inquiry.
Even [leftists] don't try to defend Churchill on grounds that he is Galileo pursuing an abstract search for the truth.
They simply invoke "free speech," like a deus ex machina to end all discussion.
Like the words "diverse" and "tolerance," "free speech" means nothing but: "Shut up, we win."
I'd expect either that or that he'll simply demagogue, ignoring Horowitz's points and using the occasion to repeat his own anti-American slanders.
Of course in any fair debate, Churchill would end up looking like an idiot. I'd love to see it happen.
I would actually pay-per-view on TV to watch this! A phony liberal paranoid psychopathic liar/fraud and his brain dead screaming followers versus one conservative genius. Should be no match at all.
Let's see if Big Chief Fraud-in-the-face would want to debate an actual Indian

David will be eaten alive. Churchill is a marauding beast. He won't play fair and will have poor David quivering in his historical and classical allusions.
Ward's getting ready to RRRRRUUUUMBBBBLEEEE!
A true debate must be between people of different views but with common ethics.
