ARAB, Alabama - In reaction to the deadly school shooting in Connecticut last month, Arab City Schools have installed armed police officers at each of its four campuses. It's costing the system $66,000 through the end of 2013, according to Superintendent John Mullins. "We made a decision that while it's a substantial amount of money, there's no monetary value on the safety of our children," Mullins said.

(Google translation)In Anders Behring Breivik Manifesto , which was announced on Saturday , he explains, among other things, the ideological background for the bombing and mass killing of Utøya. What he does not say anything about, is that key parts of his manifesto is directly copied from the Una-bomber, Ted Kaczynski 's manifesto, "Unabomber's manifesto." It is document.no , the Islam-critical site where Behring Breivik should have been an avid debater, which reveal plagiarism. He has replaced the concepts, so it should fit better into his own ideology. For example, switching him out the word "Leftism" (left orientation) with the...

This is showing up in emails and in forums on the net. I have no idea if it's true. Not on Snopes yet.-------------------------------------"I'm currently still in one piece, writing from my room in the Narita crew hotel. It's 8am. This is my inaugural trans-pacific trip as a brand new, recently checked out, international 767 Captain and it has been interesting, to say the least, so far. I've crossed the Atlantic three times so far so the ocean crossing procedures were familiar. By the way, stunning scenery flying over the Aleutian Islands. Everything was going fine until 100 miles out from...

A 60-year-old man has been found on the roof of his floating house nearly 10 miles out at sea, two days after the tsunami that devastated the north-east coast of Japan. Hiromitsu Shinkawa must have resigned himself to his fate when he was swept away by the retreating tsunami that roared ashore in his home town of Minami Soma in Fukushima prefecture.

Mark Penn, Democratic strategist and former chief strategist for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, let out the kind of doozy, on last night’s Hardball, that must be seen to be believed. Comparing Obama’s current situation to the aftermath of the 1994 “Republican Revolution,” Penn noted that it took the Oklahoma City tragedy in order for President Clinton to “reconnect” with the American people. He then stepped off the cliff by saying that President Obama needed a “similar event” to achieve that reconnection following his party’s midterm losses.

A study by the Korea Food and Drug Administration seems to contradict the stereotype that Koreans have bigger faces than Caucasians. The KFDA measured the facial dimensions of 387 adults and 304 children and adolescents between 2007 and 2009 and found that the average Korean male's face was 419 sq. cm in area or about 92 percent the size of Caucasian males' 453 sq. cm. The face of the average Korean woman measured 371 sq. cm, a little smaller than the average Caucasian woman's 380 sq. cm. Experts say the faces of Koreans appear to be bigger due to a kind...

Having ruined the pension funds of Americans nationally through corrupt and utterly unsustainable "projections" of future growth labor unions are now targeting your money to make up the difference: One of the nation's largest labor unions, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), is promoting a plan that will centralize all retirement plans for American workers, including private 401(k) plans, under one new "retirement system" for the United States. In effect, government pensions for everyone, not unlike the European system and regardless of personal choice. Yes, because labor unions have done such a great job of managing their pension plans, right?Oh wait,...

The local economic forecast tied to President Barack Obama's proposed NASA budget keeps growing bleaker. Revised projections now show that about 23,000 workers at and around Kennedy Space Center will lose their jobs because of the shuttles' retirement and the new proposal to cancel the development of new rockets and spacecraft.

Scientists are increasingly becoming aware of a new mechanism by which pollutants can damage the health of living organisms -- epigenetic changes, in which a chemical changes how a gene is expressed......Like mutations, epigenetic effects can be passed on to a person's offspring......"There is a huge potential impact from these exposures, partly because the changes may be inherited across generations,"...

Want to strike fear into the hearts of Obamacare supporters? Just ask them the following questions:"So, you're all for the government running your health care, right?""The current plan provides for abortions, right?""So, what do you think will happen when Republicans regain a majority in Congress and regain the White House?""How do you feel about Sarah Palin being in control of your health care?""How about Dick Cheney?""How about Jeb Bush?""How about Karl Rove?""Once Republicans are in control again, how long do you think the government will pay for abortions?"Observe their facial expressions as you ask these questions. It's funny.

Apparently they were discussing the Couric interview of Sarah Palin. At the bottom of the screen was the words: "Couric Nails Palin".One of the commentators was expressing their glee that Couric hammered Palin in the interview.Nah, no bias here.Disclaimer: I don't watch CNN but the cable repair guy was here and he had control of the remote.Note to SAPPs (Self Appointed Post Police): No, I didn't do a search to see if this had already been posted.
