If the Dems take control of the House or Senate, I believe the first order of business will be to reinstate the fairness doctrine. This, of course, would be done to muzzle the opposition. Say goodbye to talk radio and free speech via the internet. Vote Republican November 7.

But the newly Democratic Senate of 1987 would not prove so accommodating. Robert Bork, the president's first choice to fill the vacancy left by retiring Justice Lewis Powell, would be famously--and roughly--rejected. Those midterm elections wound up mattering rather a lot.

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight. I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest. Pass it on...
