  • Now it’s our turn: Let the backlash begin

Not only that, but by allying themselves with the Communists (International A.N.S.W.E.R., United for Peace and Justice, World Workers Party et al) and the Palestinians and Islamists, there is now a WELL-CO-ORDINATED FORCE WHICH CAN GO ON STRIKE AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE OVER WHATEVER IMAGINED SLIGHT.

In future, both groups, aside from the immigrants, can pressure the immigrant groups to join them. Specifically, I'm thinking of the Islamists. They will use the immigration group as their proxy in forcing issues through congress on behalf of say, illegal immigrants, that benefit the Islamist agenda and if they don't get their way, they can now ask for the help of the other two groups (Communists were already allied with the Islamists) to pressure the government and the citizens. Not a nice triangulation.

It's not just Israel that lacks the 'will' to win; it's the US as well. If the Democrats weren't pulling so hard in the other direction, a full-blooded response in Iraq would have had this over with by now. Instead, the US has done everything in half-measures in an effort to appease the left. The left is doing everything it can to lose the war and if the left means the Democrats, then sorry, folks, but I calls em as I sees 'em and that's what they're doing. I don't think the US and the coalition will lose the war but it would have been a hell of a lot easier if half the country (or less than half, actually) hadn't been pulling the other way. The troops have been faultless; it's the politics that have been sickening!

  • Katrina victims testify on racism's role

I have to agree that that 'knee-jerk' reaction of accusing the rest of us of being racist with respect to the victims of Katrina is infuriating. Not only is it not true and I also saw many white people trying to get into the Dome at that time; there were all sorts of people. Basically anyone who lives in an inner city where it's densely populated and they use public transportation to and from work most of the time, would have found themselves in the same position. Trapped in the downtown core in the path of a hurricane and no high ground available except at the Dome. When I donated through a poster on here and LGF, I didn't ask what color he was, just that I'd posted with him for a couple of years and knew what he was like and he was THERE! As far as I'm concerned, as long as what I donated could actually REACH someone and do some good was all I cared about. I'm sure most of us felt the same way. But when I saw the bollocks, the ARC and others had made, spotty service and help at best, what was the point of donating more funds to them which would be sidetracked for future use as the ARC did when they estimated they had 'enough' to cover Katrina and the rest would go to future disasters. That's not what the Katrina donors wanted. They wanted their funds to go to the victims NOW.

But all that aside, just the accusations from the professional race baiters is enough to make you want to tell people where to go. I think, when giving to community groups, you state that you are willing to give but insist that you will only give to organizations THAT DO NOT EMPLOY RACE BAITING AS A FUND-RAISING TACTIC! That may make them think twice about using that technique in future.

  • Is New Orleans worth reclaiming?

It's worse than that. A hospital on the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain is under siege and four days and counting they've been abandoned by FEMA, the police, and federal, state and local authorities. The doctors and nurses are being threatened...they have no security (I've appealed to Blackfive readers for someone to volunteer to send a team to secure the hospital) but it's only a matter of time till the gangstas get there. They have a rifle and a couple of handguns belonging to the staff and that's all. No food, no water but FEMA knows where they are cause the copters keep arriving with elderly victims covered in feces which they can't accept because they are under water and have no room for any more patients. They are holding on the upper floors but time is running out. They need your help freepers. Read the story under "Abandonded by FEMA..." at this link:

    http://www.punditeria.com/

I've sent the story to Carol and Chad this morning. Maybe they'll pass it on and get these people under siege some help.

It's waterworld; it's Snake Plisskin escaping from New York. It' Blade Runner with bodies and then some. At night the pimps and dealers rule the night and the waters. This has the potential to spread. I don't want to give voice to some of my 'potentials'. Suffice to say that both these thugs and disease are two areas that could get out of there and spread far and wide. And in the midst of all this are rescuers and victims fighting for their lives. It's a scene right out of Dante's 'Inferno' illustrated by Boticelli.

Just tell me where to stand and I'm there! We don't have the breath to waste on blame, we must save all our energies to get those people off those rooves and out of the water. I can't be there but I'll pray. I've been praying and typing since early Sunday morning...I've hardly slept and it's all melding together but I've never been more sure of what we're doing and we must stand strong and keep America's spirits from flagging and giving in to those who will take this very moment to try to strike her a mortal blow. This is a time to beware of false friends and their evil plans for America. The 24th of September the left will try to get a lot of press mileage Bush bashing and demonstrating against the war. They are our real enemies. The Islamists can't throw anything more devastating at us than what we've already been through...and if we can survive it and come back...we can flip them the bird. But the left in this country is refusing even to help with this disaster. As if leftists weren't caught in these floods. Just red state people. That's the most unhinged and childish philosophy and is absolutely why they must never be trusted with power. They have no judgment and no heart.

That's what I believe. Get those that can be rescued out and then let the alligators have the others and keep them from getting out unless they can prove they're unarmed and prepared to rejoin society (referring to the bad guys).

There isn't really a moat...it's just that a lower walkway filled with water which is now five feet deep, creating a moat (which, ironically, has the potential to contain alligators if the report of a sighting downtown can be believed. I believe it.

Someone with one of those sports vehicles that look like lawn tractors...I forget what they're called but they're great off road and they'd be good getting supplies in and out of places where the water's not too deep. Or on this ramp. Someone with a case or two of water could just hop on the sports buggy and ride it up there.

The fact that no one is doing that makes me wonder what the hell is going on. Where is the bottleneck? It looks so bad for those same people to be on that ramp without help for two and a half days. They should have been picked up first by the schoolbuses instead of taking a paltry few from the dome. The buses weren't even full as they passed. If the driver had stopped he could have loaded most of the women I saw on the ramp with their kids as he went past.

This is just an utter balls-up because people took money for jobs they either were incapable of fulfilling or had no intention of doing to any degree of competence.

It may resemble Southeast Asia's tsunami more than 9-11 when the true death toll is admitted to. For now I guess they don't want to shock people more than they are but the truth is, they're not telling us except in very oblique ways what the true cost of this is in lost lives. Very soon though, many of those alive now will die as they succumb to heatstroke and other problems from lack of water and food. Eventually the unburied corpses will begin to smell and NO will be uninhabitable. Disease will be a real problem. This could start to happen in the next 24 hours.

I heard the Ambulance guy asking for help with the looters (he's worried about his own people being shot) and yet right after him someone got on and explained the three tiers and how this only merited the National Guard, not the Army. I think in this case we have to toss the rule book.

I've talked about the incompetence surrounding this tragedy which is going to be a force multiplier in that many who are alive now may not make it because these morons waited a) too long to evacuate the city before the event; b) didn't move fast enough after the event; c) aren't properly trained, d) the list goes on.

One more story I heard this morning from a 'Citizen Journalist' was that she was talking to the Mayor who told her (she's a health worker, I believe) that he was releasing the prisoners and she should get out of there because looting would begin with these prisoners on the loose. Better he had left them free but locked inside the jail to fend for themselves than to be out, now armed with guns and whatever, free to attack the rescuers, citizens and anyone else. This was a piece of utter insanity. Better to have executed them all and taken the heat. I would have. The bad guys? You bet. Rather than let them loose on the population now, of all times.

    Utter incompetence!

Exit 235 Eastbound on the Freeway. There are hundreds of people with no water for two and a half days. No water and no shelter. Small babies. This is critical! THIS IS LIFE THREATENING! MOVE NOW!

These were people who arrived after the Dome was closed and after the storm arrived. People who may have been at home or work and lost their homes or were driven from wherever they were. They've come to the Dome but it's surrounded like a moat now by five feet of water. Short of walking back the way they came, there's no where to go. The thing is, they have no access to a bathroom (probably foul in the Dome now anyway, but water and food...at least water is key). And they have no umbrellas for shelter from the sun in 90+ degrees. It's been two whole days on the tarmac and they still have no help and one man had a two year old baby with no water. He's carrying the child with a damp cloth over it's eyes but that's it. The workers could just take a vehicle and drive down the ramp with a case of water for them but even though he asked her about them, this witch from the Emergency Services didn't even make the effort to say she'd look into it. They're are utterly incompetent. This incompetence is what is going to get all these people killed. This is going to get bad as people dehydrate and die right there on the concrete. I'm feeling rage inside. I hope Shep embarrassed her enough that she'll do something about looking into it but I'm not holding my breath. At least give them a case of water. How hard can that be. Drop a few umbrellas from a copter going by to give them shade. aaaAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH!

Dear G*d! Those neighbourhoods were blasted to matchsticks! I'm surprised there aren't MORE bodies in the rubble. The wonder is that there are as many people out there, not in the Dome, but who survived that assault. It would be too cruel for them not to survive now.

But what is really making me angry is those people still on the ramp with no water. And Shep talking to that dozy Anne Marie of the EMO down there. What the... He asked her if she could get someone to help them and described one man with a two year old baby who had no water, just a towel to keep over it's eyes and asked her when they could expect some help. She started giving him one of these 'on message' responses. When he stopped her and shamed her into a corner asking her when they'd get help she didn't respond. I don't think their EM response people are trained or know what they're doing. Who's been in charge in that city? This is utter incompetence piled upon disaster. They should kick all these morons collecting paychecks who don't know their jobs out onto the watery streets and get some people in who know how to get things done. This is beyond frustrating. I wanted to smack that dozy broad. [Grrrrr!]

They seem to have been poorly organized and prepared for a catastrophe. Any kind of catastrophe. The fact they dumped all those people in the dome with no practical EMO solutions for keeping them hydrated tells me they've been flying by the seat of their pants.
