In combatting religious error, I have conducted numerous classes on various false religions including Islam. This entailed much, much more than watching a two hour video.
There are better ways to attack error than with nonsense.
Mohammed definitely existed. You don’t combat error with falsehood. Spreading the idea that he didn’t exist is counterproductive and nonsense. We can confront and confute Islam without this kind of nonsense.
Whether successful or not, I appreciate their efforts. Letting the public know that there is still a sizable segment of the population who disagree with the Court’s ruling will at least provide (hopefully) a buffer so that social conservatives aren’t relegated to the sidelines...or the prisons...or the trash heaps.
For many of us, this isn’t an issue that can be bargained over. It is one which we will never support or condone. For many of us, it is a hill to die on.
At the time of the founding of our nation, a homosexual act was a capital offense punishable by death. Today, some have been fined, fired, kept from graduating, or even jailed for simply saying that homosexuality is wrong.
Too many people have been conscientious objects in the Culture War.
That’s because every idea proposed by the Neocons results in a cease-fire at best, not an “end to this conflict”. A PERFECT example is the following: Kellogg’s idea of letting ‘Putin’ keep what he has and then having the rest of Ukraine join NATO in 10 years, with the implication of restarting the war to get back what ‘Putin’ was allowed to hold on to.
Eventually our side will understand that and either come back with somethings that puts an “end to this conflict”, or stop wasting the time of the Russians.
In other words, if those silly Ukrainians will just surrender their country to the nice invading Russians with their Kalashnikovs, everything will be just fine.
I disagreed strenuously with Kazan, and always thought that he was a Russian troll, but I hate to see any Free Republic poster suffer this way. RIP. /s
Perhaps not as bad as it seems. The AG still gets to appeal. The federal government still gets to control immigration.
What I’m wondering is this: Can Trump deputize the Florida law enforcement agencies to help with immigration? That would be an interesting and novel approach.
There was a peace agreement on the table in March 2022 which was MUCH more favorable than anything Ukraine can hope for now...not to mention the Minsk agreements before that.
I'll take that as a "Yes, they should have politely surrendered when Russia invaded."
