In a bold and meticulously coordinated drone operation, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted key locations near the Russian Black Sea resort cities of Sochi and Adler early Thursday morning, dealing a blow to strategic infrastructure and spreading fear deep into Russian-occupied Georgian region Abkhazia.
One of the main targets was an oil facility in the village of Sirius, just outside Sochi. Russian officials confirmed the strike and urged civilians to stay away from the area due to ongoing safety concerns, as emergency crews responded to fires at the site.
In Adler district, drone debris killed one woman and seriously injured another. Several garages caught fire, and local footage showed scenes of destruction amid the quiet coastal area.
Russian media also released dramatic video showing a drone flying at extremely low altitude near the Mantera Supreme Hotel and the Fisht Olympic Stadium — iconic landmarks from the 2014 Winter Olympics that now underscore Russia’s growing vulnerability to long-range Ukrainian strikes.
The attack forced the temporary closure of Sochi International Airport, severely disrupting civilian air traffic and underscoring the effectiveness of Ukraine’s asymmetric tactics.

Ukraine’s end game appears to be nuclear war.
Isn’t that special?
Do you mean the country who gave all of their nuclear weapons to Russia, who is now invading them? How warlike of them!
What an idiotic comment.
Tell me, Willy, what is their endgame?
Israel is joined at the hip with the Khazar.
End game is Z will be richest man on earth, all males in Ukraine will be killed in war, Z will have pick of the women.
Good news sure to irritate Putin’s allies here.
To kill enough Russians so they will leave. If the Russian trucks don’t have fuel, it’s hard for them to move around. Makes them easier to kill.
Tell me, Inga, what is their endgame?
To stop the Russian invasion, and the war, and return to peace.
Bkmk
Are you telling me that the country with the largest nuclear arsenal on Earth would allow itself to be defeated without resorting to nuclear weapons?
Please tell me you are not really that detached from reality.
And, instead of blaming the Russians, you’re blaming the country that they are trying to wipe off the face of the Earth.
Any country that uses nuclear weapons in an offensive manner would become an immediate piriah in the world. They would not be able to trade and would face crippling sanctions.
No one would deal with them.
It would be the end of the existing government.
And if they used nukes outside for Ukraine, Russia would cease to exist.
Tell me Putin is that stupid. I think he is an evil a-hole. I never said he was stupid.
I am happy with death by a thousand cuts. Just keep killing them. Blow up refineries. Blow up trains and bridges. After a while Russian mothers will put a stop to this madness.
Putin has to be the stupidest leader Russia could have had.
Dragging on this war for years and getting Russia attacked.
The last time I checked, the Soviets did not use nukes to destroy Kabul during the Soviet-Afghan War.
Dragging on this war for years and getting Russia attacked.
Tsar Nicholas II.
Instead of recognizing that they've made mistakes, both Nicholas II and Putin would double down instead of finding a way out of the quandary they're in.
Every Rand Corporation simulation they have ever run says that the entire world will be engulfed in nuclear war within minutes of the first nuke flying.
But war pigs are smarter than a company whose business is war, aren't they?
It's a proxy war fomented by Victoria Nuland, and you know it.
