  • Need help on voting in Florida's Ballot this Nov 6 2012 (local issues)

    10/07/2012 12:55:41 PM PDT · by ElPatriota · 5 replies
Hello, for Nov 6, 2012 I vote in Florida my official address, but I am not living there at the moment so I am not familiar with the local issues in the County of Hillsborough, Tampa, FL. I need help on how to fill in the absentee Ballot with social-conservative/conservative choices. I am interested in the "local Issues" (i.e. Judges for FL supreme court, District Court of appeals judges running for re-election; School Board candidates, the amendments, Sheriff, the works). I already picked everyone with the "R" I found; now I need the "unknown" ones. On Amendments (I need opinions...

... These are my thoughts, promted by this article below http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2274014/posts. Yes, sort of personal rant.. that I had to get off my chest :). Now, if you want to say something positive or negative, SAY IT (go on record), but don't expect me to argue or to convince you. This was written primarily for my buddies out there :) ------------------------------------------------- ‘Conservative’ and ‘Republican’ no longer synonymous [were they ever?] The Hill, Washington, DC ^ | 2009-06-17 | Aaron Blake & Reid Wilson Posted on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 7:56:18 PM by rabscuttle385 Expect to start hearing something like this...

-- SNIP -- Former Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., quit last fall over sexually explicit Internet communications with male pages who had worked on Capitol Hill. Sen. Bob Packwood, R-Ore., resigned in 1995 amid allegations he had made unwanted sexual advances to 17 female employees and colleagues and altered his personal diaries to obstruct an ethics investigation. On Saturday, Craig said he would pursue legal options to clear his name. He has retained Billy Martin, a Washington lawyer who represented Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick in his dogfighting case, to pursue his legal options. Washington lawyer Stan Brand will represent Craig...
  • DUNCAN / NEWT for 2008? (Vanity)

I just thought I would throw it out there for your consideration. Duncan's choice is NOT negotiable. Newt's IS :) Why Newt?... Because yes, we can forgive those who deserve a second chance, and besides, he will pay the price by running in the second slot, as the Vice-President (Not that there is anything wrong with that!). Then, having gained invaluable experience, fully rehabilitated for his indiscretions, THEN, he will be ready to be president. He is still a young man so he's got the time.

Same-sex marriage is not the only goal of the gay rights movement. It's becoming clear that another goal is the suppression of Americans' First Amendment right to criticize the gay agenda. The gay lobby tried a broadside attempt to censor criticism by passing a national "hate crimes" law. Fortunately, Congress didn't pass that law, but gay activists are obviously trying to achieve much the same effect through political pressure and intimidation.Scott Bloch, the head of the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in the Bush administration, has been targeted for termination because he removed "sexual orientation" from the list of anti-discrimination...

It’s unlikely that America has ever experienced the kind of arrogance that supporters of illegal immigrants from Mexico have been demonstrating over the past few contentious weeks. This week on my radio show, an activist attorney named Domingo Garcia proudly proclaimed that he knew of only one case in the country that involved an employer firing a worker as a result of Monday’s boycott debacle, “A Day of Action.” And in that case, he warned, a lawsuit would be forthcoming. This illegal immigrant-loving activist-lawyer was actually excited at the prospect of an American company being sued as a result of...

May Day: El Gran Boicotposted at 1:58 am on May 1, 2006 by Allahpundit Send to a Friend | printer-friendly It’s moonbat Christmas, the perfect day for millions of illegals to take to the streets, bring their best friend — American business — to its knees, and do their level best to alienate most of the rest of us. Unsurprisingly, the Times and WaPo both report a split among immigration advocates over the wisdom of staging a boycott while legislation is pending in Congress — not to mention doing it on May Day. WaPo: Carlos Castro, a leader in two...

What is compassionate conservatism? Apr 27, 2006 by Marvin Olasky ( bio | archive | contact ) Email to a friend Print this page Text size: A A Columnist Peggy Noonan recently quoted a journalist saying that the expansion of federal entitlement spending during the past five years should come as no surprise, since George W. Bush "ran as a compassionate conservative." Noonan's frustrated reaction: "This left me rubbing my brow in confusion. Is that what Mr. Bush meant by compassionate conservatism?" I don't think so, judging by several conversations then-Gov. Bush and I had in Texas during the 1990s....

Just wanted to share this experience with you Freepers. I arrived at 12:15pm, registered, promised to myself I would enjoy this moment and so I sat on the first row, about 10 feet from the podium... about 150 people, Many looked very smart. 12:25pm, I can see Newt just outside the door, greeting and having small talk with a bunch of people. He is introduced and starts taking about IMMIGRATION. I was so excited to see this guy whom I admired so much from the days of the contract with America... Here he was, talking about something so hot... now,...

Posted by Bobby Eberle April 21, 2006 at 6:34 am >> Printer-Friendly Version The Department of Homeland Security announced Thursday that it would be implementing a new, revolutionary, cutting-edge, state-of-the-art approach to the illegal immigration problem. What is this “new” approach? Believe it or not, the department declared that the U.S. would now be cracking down on employers who “knowingly and recklessly” hire illegal aliens. In other words, they are going to try a “new” program called “enforcing existing laws.” Guess what? It works! Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Julie L. Myers, Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs...

Posted by Bobby Eberle April 20, 2006 at 6:41 am >> Printer-Friendly Version Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean is now calling border security the top immigration priority for the Democrats. Likely reacting to public opinion polls which show overwhelming concern among Americans regarding illegal immigration and border security, Dean has now established that the Democrats are officially “all over the map” on the immigration issue. If only the Republicans would be focused on what the American people actually want, we could get real movement on this vitally important issue. According to a report in the Washington Times, Dean is...

(AP) McCain Courting Iowa Conservatives Apr 13 2006 By MIKE GLOVER Associated Press Writer DES MOINES, Iowa Republican Sen. John McCain is courting conservative activists, crucial to any White House hopes, in an early test of his political strength. He has his work cut out for him in Iowa. "I don't want to say it's an insurmountable hurdle, but it's a big, big hill to climb," said Steve Scheffler, who heads the Iowa Christian Alliance, formerly the Christian Coalition. "There's no support for McCain in this constituency, and I don't see how you can make a scenario where you can...

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) famously christened his 2000 presidential campaign bus "The Straight Talk Express." The media ate it up. We could sure use some straight talk from Sen. McCain on marriage right now, as he is all over the road on this issue. Two years ago, Sen. McCain opposed the marriage amendment because he felt it should be dealt with on the state level. Since then we've seen Nebraska's marriage amendment struck down by a federal judge. Last Sunday, he crossed over to the right side of the road when he told NBC's Tim Russert on Meet the Press...
  • on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION - and why I am CONFLICTED by the whole thing (just my thoughts)

This issue is so HUGE, I don't know where to start. Why am I doing this? see my profile and because I owe it to the people who agree with me here in FR and because this is just damn important to me and to the country, I believe. Excuse the English, best I could do) My mantra on this has always been: Secure the border first then we can talk about it. Notice the statement is comprised of two parts: [Part 1] Secure the border first[Part 2] then we can talk about it. The ORDER of the parts are...
  • PLUMBING QUESTION - Changing a WATER PRESSURE REDUCER in my townhouse (Handymen/women welcome!...)

Hi all, All of the sudden when I was taking a shower, the pressure just increased at least by a factor or 2X... too strong!...I had to reduce the pressure from the shower head. Anyway, the water company came to check and found the pressure (78 lbs) which is normal so they said to check the "Water Pressure Reducer." (about $50.00) it seems this is what it is, although I can never be sure until a plumber looks at it. I already found out it costs $250.00. Not a lot but still.... On the surface it does not seem like...

Usually you get a variety of items, good pricing and yes, you don't pay for taxes as long as you are in a different state from where the shipper resides... etc, etc. Shipping is another item you have to consider carefully. Sometimes what you save in the item you pay it on shipping!... so watch...

Mr. President, Please Secure Our Borders Immediately It has been nearly four years since the 9/11 attacks inside our country by foreign nationals. Yet, tens of thousands of foreign nationals every few weeks continue to be allowed to enter this country illegally through our loosely guarded borders. All of these illegal entrants threaten American citizens in one way or another—either as unfair labor competition, tax burdens, instruments of organized crime including drug running and slavery, or as terrorists.

This issue contains descriptions not suitable for children A support group for "gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth" in Virginia is being accused of encouraging illegal sexual interaction between men and boys. Atlanta Pastor DL Foster recently noted on his personal web log that the Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth (ROSMY) had an ad on its website endorsing pedophilia. The ad asked "all ROSMY men and boys" if they wanted "to go to some of Richmond's hottest gay clubs for free" or "educate men about the importance of safe sex and condom use." ROSMY is...

I am a conservative. My brother in Law is a liberal. I am visiting them here in Florida and as usual we are having the samE old arguments. The SCHIAVO case poses a new disagreement. I uas under the impression that Terry's parents **ASKED** for the custody of her daughter, as well as all finanacial responsabilities. (In other words, the government would NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO HER CARE) My brother in law contends that he never heard the parents in any of the interviews he saw on the news - and they were many - ASK for FULL...
