This guy is full of BS!!!

I grew up in Winston County (in the Haleyville/Lynn/Double Springs area), and this writer is nothing more than yet another liberal hack trying to “explain” how backwards the Rednecks in Alabama are if they elect Roy Moore.

According to my relatives back home (I no longer live there due to military duties), Moore will win in a landslide.

No one, other than the folks paid for by out of state Democrats, believe the crap published by the WAPO, etc.

I think it was Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton who said something like “No more trial by newspaper!”. MAGA, Go Moore, Go Trump!!!

I have been involved with Team Rubicon (TR) from the very beginning, and deployed to Haiti with them.

TR is the real deal...making use of the skill sets our veterans learned in combat, and applying it to a disaster response situation.

Please take a look at the TR website...we have some exxciting missions upcoming, and can use all the help we can get.

The bottom line is that there are people alive today who would have died had it not been for Team Rubicon!

I USED to own a small business in Maryland....O’Malley (a Democrat) was elected as Governor, taxes and fees went thru the roof, and I closed my business (I had employed 9 people). I started a new business in WV (I know...Bryd land, but much easier to deal with than MD). 3 of my employees moved with me to WV...the others were terminated.

I have contracts now where I needed 11 new people...in times past, I would have hired them directly. Due to the uncertainty of today's environment, I used a temp service...these 11 folks get their wage, period, from the temp service (no health care, no 401, etc, etc).

As a small business owner, I simply could not take the financial risk to bring these folks on full time with my company, as much as I wanted to. My business is one that is putting as much capital (CASH) aside as we can, because no one knows what is going to happen under the Obama administration.

My first job was at age 13...I swept the floors and shined shoes at a barber shop in my small home town. My shoe shine kit cost $5, and the owner loaned me the money (and deducted 50 cents a week from my pay of $1 a day (from him) plus shoe shine tips till I repaid his loan). I have worked every day since then...I am now 52. Don’t tell me that there are jobs Americans won’t do!!!

    Folks,

I hope someone smarter than me can help us out by posting clickable links (I don’t know how yet!).

I am working on the medical logistics support for Team Rubicon, and will post more info about it once we get it nailed down.

I am not a millionaire, but I did own a small business in Maryland that averaged about 2.5 million in sales a year.

I ccompletely closed down my business in Maryland in Dec 2007, and started all over in WV in 2008. I also changed my residence from Maryland to WV (yeah, WV has its own problems, but is much, MUCH better than MD).

When I closed my business, half of my employees moved to WV with me and the new entity, and half decided not to (in spite of me offering to cover their moving costs).

BOTTOM LINE: the tax situation in Maryland meant that seven people (six employees plus me) are no longer paying taxes to the Peoples Republic of Maryland.

On 9-11, I was at Bolling AFB (accross the Potomac from the Pentagon) at 0730 in the morning. I was working as a contractor with the USAF Surgeon General’s office, and was scheduled to present a briefing at the Pentagon at 0900 that day.

When I arrived at Bolling, I was told that my brief had been re-scheduled for 1 pm that day (1300 for us old military types). I was well and truly po’d...I was going to have to “waste” half a day waiting around to give my brief.

As the events in NYC began to unfold, those of us there at Bolling realized that we had been attacked, and that we (in the metro DC area) were a prime target.

A few minutes later, I (along with the others in the office), while looking across the river at the Potomac, actually saw the plane hit the Pentagon.

Without going into details, I (and the other medics at Bolling) were heavily involved in the response to the attack on the Pentagon.

I did not see my family for almost a week (my wife was/is an active duty doctor with the US military): thank G-d for our family, our nanny, and our friends.

As someone said earlier, NEVER FORGET, NEVER FORGIVE!

I own a small business here in Maryland (aka the Peoples Republic of Maryland”).

I have a meeting Wednesday in West Virginia. I fully anticipate (following that meeting) that I will move my family, my business, and seven employees to a new location.

Maryland is going to the dogs...I am heading out for greener pastures.

    I am:

    1. A Jew
    2. A medically retired soldier (and a 17 year veteran of Special Ops)
    3. A committed conservative (which usually means a Republican, but not always), and
    4. An American, born and bred.

Having said that, I can honestly say that any Moose Limb or DemoRat that tries to take me, my wife, or our children out will be answered by a hail of 5.56 mm lead.

I AM NOT some sort of survivalist nut...I am the owner of a (thus far successful) small business (post-medical retirement from the Army), a father and husband, and an American (whose family has been here since 1697).

Bottom line: we Jews have had good times, and we have had bad times in the US. All in all, short of Heaven, this is as good as it gets.

I have considered (any number of times) moving to Israel, but...I am an American first, and foremost (who happens to be a Jew, as my personal religious faith).

As an old soldier, I can only hope and pray that my fellow Americans realize how much b-—s—t is being put out now a says.

Having said that...I have LOTS of 5.56 mm available if someone tries to hurt me and mine.

    Folks,

From what I have read about Duncan Hunter, the fact that he was an AIRBORNE RANGER in the South East Asia War Games in the '69-'72 time frame says a lot to me.

Who else of the current crop of potential '08 POTUS class (a) had the gumption to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, and (b) has ever heard a shot fired in anger?

It is (IMHO) way to early to totally commit to a candidate, but Duncan Hunter is looking better and better to this old soldier.

Fellow FReepers: I do not post often, but HAD to add my comments to this thread.

I live in MD-03, and know John White very, very well. He is a self-made man: a very successful businessman, and a staunch Republican. He will be a GREAT Congressman.

Bob Erlich and Michael Steele are surging, and I am extremely confident of a Republican "sweep" her in Maryland: Gov, Senate, and House (MD-03).

My small business is hosting (providing space and phone lines) for a GOTV effort, and the response has been tremendous...we MUST get out the vote, and I believe we will put our folks over the top.

Pray for W, our troops, and all the good men and women running for office as Republicans!

Reference the Army's Combat Lifesaver (CLS) program for non-medics, that actually has been around for better than 20 years.

It started back in the early to mid 80's...I remember being tasked to set up the first CLS course at Ft Lewis waaaay back when (1985) when I was a Medical Service Corps 2LT (and a medical platoon leader in an infantry division).

Lots of troops are alive today because of that particular Army program.

    I am:

    1. A medically retired Soldier (medically retired in 1997, or I would still be "doing the nasty" in strange and smelly places"), and

    2. A "Legitimate" holder of three "I forgot to duck" buttons (aka the Purple Heart medal/ribbon awarded by the US Army...anybody want to see the five plus inches that constitute my medical record?), and

    3. A holder of the CMB (the Combat Medic Badge...awarded by the US Army for "...providing direct medical support while in support of combat operations against enemies of the United States...": the only award (other than the Purple Heart) that one NEVER wants to receiver as a Combat Medic), and

    4. A holder of a "real" award for valor (as opposed to Kerry's "I supported the war before I opposed the war" version"...anybody want to see my DD 214?), and

    5. The owner of a very successful small business (that I own, pay taxes on, employ a significant number of folks in, and have my two kids as my "business partners" in), and

    6. Am a long time "lurker", and first time poster to Free Republic, and

    7. Have FINALLY seen something on FR that STRUCK A CHORD with me, and

    8. Have to say, this story brought tears to my eyes. I have to admit (when I am not to busy to think about it) that I feel guilty that I am to old/busted up/broken to be there with my brother and sister medics on the front lines.

All I can say is that the "Combat Medic" series by this author brought back a lot of memories, and reminded me of a "...time long, long ago, in a place far, far away...". I pray daily for our troops on the line in the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism, to use Pentagon Speak), and I wish like h..l that I could be there with them.

    A Proud Combat Medic.....
