Dozens of hippies who got stuck at a festival in Panama due to coronavirus realized that the collectivist utopia they sought after is actually “hell” as they bicker over food and territory. One doesn’t want to laugh too much at their misfortune, but dear God, this is funny. The Tribal Gathering Festival, billed as “paradise on earth,” was supposed to end on March 15, but 40 western hippies remain trapped at the site because Panama announced a national emergency due to COVID-19 and placed them under quarantine. A subsequent ban on all entry and departure flights now means the hippies...

Conservatives mocked Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she cited her high school science fair in a Twitter spat with Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. Ocasio-Cortez kicked off the exchange by criticizing President Donald Trump’s decision to name Vice President Mike Pence as the head of the Coronavirus task force, saying that he did not believe in science. Cruz quickly responded by asking the freshman congresswoman a series of scientific questions that were at odds with her ideology — including a query about Y chromosomes. Ocasio-Cortez responded with a few insults and her resume — and among the scientific...

Actress Rosario Dawson is adding intrigue to rumors about her sexuality. In an interview with Bustle, the star of “Briarpatch” clarified a 2018 Instagram post in which she paid homage to the LGBTQ community during Pride month. Many fans read between the lines and assumed that the social-media update was, in effect, her coming out. Dawson — who has been in a relationship with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) since, she said, October 2018 — told the women’s website, “People kept saying that I [came out] . . . I didn’t do that. I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come...

The president of a liberal arts college in Indiana has been fired after his arrest on suspicion of sex crimes, school officials announced. Thomas J. Minar was terminated by Franklin College on Monday after his Jan. 6 arrest in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin on preliminary charges of use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime, child enticement and exposing a child to harmful materials, the Indianapolis Star reported. Formal charges have not yet been filed, but prosecutors in Door County expect to file a criminal complaint in coming days. Minar, a 56-year-old Chicago native, had been the private college’s president...

Anti-government protests in Iran have entered a third day today after Tehran finally abandoned its pretence and admitted shooting down a passenger jet. Dozens of protesters chanted slogans at a Tehran university today amid a wave of public anger after the plane was shot down with dozens of Iranians on board. A string of Iranian celebrities have also turned on the regime and two state TV hosts have quit over Tehran's three days of false reporting on the crash. Leading Iranian film director Masoud Kimiai has pulled out of Tehran's annual Fajr Film Festival in protest, saying he was 'on...

The Ukrainian Airlines flight which crashed in Tehran killing 176 people on Wednesday was shot down by an Iranian anti-aircraft missile system, Pentagon and US intelligence officials believe. Three security officials said that Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 was struck by a Russia-built Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system as it left Tehran on the way to Kiev, according to Newsweek. Two of the officials said the aircraft was likely targeted by mistake by Iranian missile systems that were active on Wednesday night as Iran launched rockets at two US basis in Iraq, waiting for a possible counter-strike. The plane, a Boeing...

New on Netflix is a five-part documentary called “The Confession Killer”. It’s fairly fascinating, detailing the story of alleged serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, who claimed to have killed over 600 people. The Texas Rangers used his confessions to clear over 200 unsolved murder cases. Basically, if there was an unsolved case, they’d ask Henry about it, give him a milkshake and he would confess to it. It made him and his handlers stars and they all loved the attention. But, it was mostly entirely false. He had previously served time for killing his mother, and there’s a solid chance...

Cory Booker is optimistic about his future with his girlfriend, actress Rosario Dawson. The 50-year-old New Jersey senator and presidential hopeful discussed the possibility of marriage with Dawson during Monday's episode of The Wendy Williams Show. "Look, I have hope. I have hope!" Booker said. "This is something really special. She's challenged me in ways that I needed to be challenged." Booker promised host Wendy Williams he will buy a tasteful engagement ring for Dawson, should he propose. "She is this righteous activist," he said of Dawson. "She has a fashion line in Africa about empowering women, so whatever I...

Looks like Pete Buttigieg is really pandering for the vote … in Buffalo. The South Bend mayor and presidential candidate came out with a radical new policy for eating cinnamon rolls — as he was spotted cutting one up and nibbling on the tiny pieces like they were chicken wings. The 37-year-old Democrat knew he was being photographed eating when he made his bizarre gustatory move, since the shot was taken at Ruby’s Restaurant in Decorah, Iowa, for a Thursday story about dining on the campaign trail by the Eater food blog. Buttigieg’s cinnamon roll shenanigans led some on Twitter...

Disappointed with the leading Democratic candidates in the 2020 pack, Mike Bloomberg is once again considering a run for president, sources tell The Post. “He thinks Biden is weak and [Bernie] Sanders and Warren can’t win,” said a source familiar with Bloomberg’s apparent about-face, which comes just months after the three-term New York City mayor took his name out of consideration. “Mike will be making a decision quickly,” said another source close to the media mogul as other sources said the decision to jump into the crowded Democratic field could come within the next few days. Bloomberg believes the dynamics...

Drive-thru windows at fast-food restaurants, banks and other businesses have long represented the convenience for which American businesses are renowned. But the ease of idling in a vehicle while waiting for your order is now associated with another development: climate change. As a result, some communities across the U.S. are banning drive-thrus, citing the additional carbon emissions that are released. Minneapolis this summer banned construction of new drive-thrus, while officials in Long Beach, California, have imposed a six-month ban on new drive-thrus while they study the issue. Similar ordinances restricting or prohibiting fast-food windows have also been adopted in communities...

We don’t yet know whether President Trump delayed some military aid to Ukraine as leverage to get Ukraine’s president to reopen an investigation into Hunter Biden. But if we are concerned about U.S. officials inappropriately threatening aid to Ukraine, then there are others who have some explaining to do. It got almost no attention, but in May, CNN reported that Sens. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) wrote a letter to Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Yuriy Lutsenko, expressing concern at the closing of four investigations they said were critical to the Mueller probe. In the...

The full police report can be found at the link, but below are a couple of excerpts. The incident with the rental car took place on October 28th, 2016 - a period of time that he was serving on the Burisma Board of Directors and getting paid very well for the valuable work he was doing for them. Not many meth-heads can contribute real value to a company's Board of Directors. But I guess Hunter's different.

A call for help may become a punch in the gut. A Federal Communications Commission proposal to replace its 10-digit national suicide prevention hotline number with the three-digit 988 hits too close to home for a Staten Island activist, who noted the numbers 88 are significant in neo-Nazi and white supremacy movements. The letter H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, and to neo-Nazis, the numbers 88 together stand for “Heil Hitler.” “It’s not just a number,” said Charles Greinsky, a 68-year-old Jewish war veteran, who recalls when hatemongers spray painted the digits on his temple in 2008. Greinsky...
