I am soliciting your prayers. My brother's (Neil E. Wright) and my mother is extremely close to death right now. We are not sure she'll last another couple of days. I am soliciting your prayers for her and for the family. This is very trying for all of us, as losing a mother is one of the most difficult things I can imagine happening. It threatens homeland security, and the Republican gadfly deserves credit for raising the issue. In a remarkable capital murder case earlier this year, the Mississippi Supreme Court, by an 8-to-1 vote, tossed out the expert testimony of Steven Hayne. The defendant was Tyler Edmonds, a 13-year-old boy accused of killing his sister’s husband. Hayne, Mississippi’s quasi-official state medical examiner, had testified that the victim’s bullet wounds supported the prosecution’s theory that Edmonds and his sister had shot the man together, each putting a hand on the weapon and pulling the trigger at the same time. “I would favor that a second party be involved in that positioning of the weapon,” Hayne told the jury....

I need help finding former Marines who served (at any time) with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 769. According to an email I received from a currently serving officer there, it is to be disestablished in September. It would be great to find others who served with it and who might have photos and memorabilia which can be made part of the last cruise book for the squadron when it is stood down. May 4-8 the Moving Wall will be making its third appearance at the Veterans' Home in Yountville. It will be open 24 hours a day throughout the days it will be there and the VA Vets Centers will have counsellors on site throughout the visit. Opening ceremonies will take place at 1800 on the 4th of May. All veterans and their families are welcome, I'm sure, but it will be of special importance to us Vietnam Veterans.
